It is not Jesus having just ascended. It is Jesus coming forth out of the glory surrounding the throne, projecting a transparent image of an lamb having just been slain as an overlay to his appearance as the reason why He is worthy. They are not worshiping an animal in heaven.5 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof. Jesus has just risen from the dead IN THE VISION.
6 And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth. Jesus JUST ASCENDED (in the vision) right after telling Mary not to touch Him for He had not yet ascended. NOTICE: in this verse, suddenly someone there that was NOT THERE a moment before.
7 And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne. In the vision, John saw Jesus take the book - circa 32 AD - and as soon as He got the book, He began breaking seals.
In Revelation 19, is the marriage supper of the Lamb - that certainly did not happen when Jesus ascended to heaven - and is still future.
Being the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world, is what is being emphasized in Revelation, and as what makes Jesus worthy.
