But no smoking and driving, thus stricter. My dad works for a nuclear power plant in Ontario. A policy has been set that you need to be at least 28 days marijuana free before your shift.Canada's Federal Government allows its' Provinces to legislate how the use of marijuana is implemented. Here in Ontario, the day after legalization, our provincial government passed a law that basically does two things.
It provides that a person can smoke it anywhere that local municipal and county bylaws allow the use of tobacco. Basically it's being regulated just like tobacco in that sense. It also goes one step further and allows these smaller local governments to ban public stores from opening in their neighborhood.
I imagine they can also regulate it the same way alcohol is regulated although it sounds like a person can smoke it in more places than they could drink a beer or cooler.
My wife and I are concerned about second-hand marijuana smoke = second-hand stoned.https://www-m.cnn.com/2018/10/17/health/canada-legalizes-recreational-marijuana/index.html?r=https://www.google.com/
So I was browsing facebook and one of my hophead cousins from Canada posted that Canada legalized marijuana yesterday. Now I was born in Canada and I cant seem to get over pot being legalized in my home country. Man it seems like marijuana is being legalized the world over. My current state of New York is one of the few American states that hasn't legalized marijuana yet. But I wouldn't use marijuana even if New York did legalize it. I don't care if you can buy marijuana in gas stations like you can cigarettes. With the way the world is going its only a matter of time.
Yes, Marijuana is legal now in Canada. It will be sold online and, in some provinces, in stores with licenses for sale.Smoking is banned everywhere for "your health's sake",

I understood that the states were supposed to have the ultimate power in determining what is legal or not in their jurisdictions. So much so that some even empower their own enforcement to arrest federal enforcers who overstep their jurisdiction. Would be interesting to see some of these authoritarians arrested for trying to bully people whose only crime is to grow some plants that God made. They are enjoying wasting money and crowding prisons needlessly then. They are also going up against tougher and tougher jury pools for them.
Actually, as socialists want people to depend on the government, they would prefer to have people go to the government for licences to use cannabis. The Liberal Party legalized it because they are socialists.
Conservatives like the idea of "each one responsible for his/her own living"; but socialists don't -- they like people to depend on the government. What'd make more and more people to depend on the government? Isn't getting them addicted to drugs the quickest way??

Just grow it. Or give it away. I agree that there should be freedom to sell, but these things take time.Hey im from Ontario too! Do you know where Cornwall is? Its a small city about 45 minutes from Ottawa. Thats where I was born. I lived there before I moved to the states until I was seven. So its like American laws where you can possess it and smoke it and not get charged? But you still can't sell it? I think that's kind of messed up. It still encourages the dangerous parts of buying marijuana from shady dealers and whatnot. I mean I guess if you're going to make pot legal you should allow the selling of it legal too.

It is treated like beer or wine... You cannot walk down a street and light up.
It was the one solid thing, IMO, that our immature little Drama queen Prime minister was elected on.
What will it change... not much. Legal sources are already out of supply. People who used it before will continue, just not as criminals. I guess some will try it now that it is not breaking the law and sources should be safe to purchase and consume without concern.
Having said that, the plant products can be separated into CBD which does not cross the blood/brain barrier and give you the "high", and THC which does give the "high".
Many people, before the legalization, already had licences through doctors to purchase these products for medicinal purposes. People will be able to "grow their own" supply with limits on the number of plants you can have at your home.
Whether you agree or not.. these products are very useful for some illnesses, chronic conditions and other painful conditions.
It's a plant that God put on this earth. How is it different than coffee, willow bark, milk thistle, golden seal, ginseng, or any number of plants that have effects on our physiological and biological systems?
The only problem, that I can see was that they made it illegal and that created a market for the criminals.
No, I don't use.

I'm glad you informed me. I was planning on moving to Canada and starting a plantation. I see that this scheme will have to wait.Jacksbratt answered the question he just posted it after I typed that up. it will be sold online and in stores with a license. So I would assume growing it will still be illegal.
My current state of New York is one of the few American states that hasn't legalized marijuana yet.
Actually the recreational us of cannabis is legal in only 9 states: Alaska, California, Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts, Nevada, Oregon, Vermont and Washington. All but three other states have legalized it for medical use only.
You know what else many people are allergic to? Alcohol. Yet guess what? It's legal."Many people are allergic to marijuana." Has raised major concerns already.
Well alcohol isn't usually dispersed into the air like smoking stuff is.You know what else many people are allergic to? Alcohol. Yet guess what? It's legal.
IDK if it was ever legal in BC.. I doubt it.Never mind you answered my question that I just posted. But wasn't pot legal in BC before this law was passed? I heard that it was. But I agree on the not being able to light up on the street thing. When my granny passed and we went to her funeral her neighbors were in the backyard smoking marijuana and the smell was just overpowering and pungent. It smelled like skunk. So I wouldn't want the streets to be overcome by the smell of pot. It smells disgusting.
Actually, they plan to be begin striking on Monday.Another ironic event... Canada Post waited until this day to possibly go on strike... hilarious... well played.
