• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I just told the counselor depression and OCD were bigger problems than anxiety... Oh yeah I got anxiety under control with supplements...well something upset me and I burst into tears and started feeling like the whole world was crashing down. I get upset and break down so easily I feel like I'm always haning by a thread and even my physical body feels exhausted from the emotional stress.

I guess I don't have Anxiety under my thumb. I thought CBD(the legal kind) and chamomile and Omega 3s would be my anxiety control and it helps but it's like I have to down a whole bunch all the time to keep from becoming a nervous wreck.

I don't know how I'm gonna make it in this world.

Have you tried exercising? I know from both professional sources and personal experience that physical exercises help managing anxiety. In fact, physical exhaustion in general does. For one, your body is flooded with endorphins, which causes a positive feeling in the body, similar to morphin. It also makes you literally too exhausted to worry. It may be something to consider ;)

Oh....big hugs that must be so frustrating! Just when you thought it was going okay too. Isn't that always the way darn it! You can make it though, and the good bits are worth it. Have you told your partner how you are at the moment? I hope they are giving you the support that works for you - getting out into the air, doing things for others to distract from your inner torments, holding you and telling you that things WILL be okay. Be encouraged - you've made it this far, and you are very very courageous - hang in there, and maybe think about some other legal medications - they don't mean you're a failure, and might help get you back in a better space. More hugs and encouragement. xxx

I have been taking magnesium supplements for about the past 6 weeks and CBD for the past two weeks. This video is on magnesium and mental health:

You are going to make it. Don't say that to yourself. God loves you and he knows what you are going through. Do you have any friends?

Maybe you need something a bit stronger than the supplements. I'm thinking along the lines of an SSRI or its cousins. Have you talked with a psychiatrist (or even your family doctor)? My MIL used to have GAD for years, but once she got on Paxil from her doc, her anxiety has diminished quite a bit.

Do you have a bicycle?

A bicycle ride or a short hike outside in fresh air is so good for our Mental Health. I know it helps me with my little issues. Little issues that do turn (into big ones) at times.
