Going to church on Saturday is NOT Sabbath-keeping. Here's why.

2 Corinthians 3

do you agree that now they are engraved on the freshly tablets is our hearts?

No. It is something else written on the heart:

2Co 3:1 Do we begin again to commend ourselves? or need we, as some others, epistles of commendation to you, or letters of commendation from you?
2Co 3:2 Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:
2Co 3:3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.

What is written in the heart is "the epistle of Christ ministered by us" not "the ten commandments".

You should read all of 2 Corinthians 3
No. the TCs are NOT engraved on the "freshly tablets is our hearts".
Why would I want the transitory ministry that brought death and condemnation, which has no glory now, engraved on my heart? No thanks. The letter kills.

saint Steven. What is the ministry of THE SPIRIT?

Do you understand this? And who is this life giving SPIRIT?

Do you understand that Moses was simply a shadow and that the law was a school master keeping us in check until the fullness of time and was pointing us to the glory that would come through Christ Jesus alone?

I don't see the Saturday Sabbath being spoken or nor commanded to Christians in this or any other writings to Christians.

Those scriptures were not provided for that purpose. They were only shown to show that the context of the scriptures and chapter can refer to God's 10 commandments of which God's SABBATH commandment is the 4th commandment and that the 10 commandments are not ABOLISHED like the OP believes and teaches.

Well that's a curious thing.
That conclusion is drawn from Christ's words in the NT.
But there is no provision in the law for such. The law is the law. It doesn't bend. It only breaks.

My contention is that Jesus was putting the law aside. No law, no sin.

Jesus speaks differently:

Mat 12:1 At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn, and to eat.
Mat 12:2 But when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day.

Mat 12:3 But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him;
Mat 12:4 How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests?
Mat 12:5 Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?
Mat 12:6 But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple.
Mat 12:7 But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.
Mat 12:8 For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.

Jesus did break the Sabbath but he did so without blame. Christ gave two other examples of the Sabbath being broken without it being sinful as a further defense.

You mock a typo?

Read 2 Corinthians 3:1-5 and explain why you are providing a different exposition from Paul?

We ended at 2 Corinthians 3:11. Did we forget the rest of the chapter?
What's your point?
My point is that 2 Corinthians 3:1-5 clearly tells us that the law moved onto the fleshly tablets of our hearts

Something that you are contradicting

Some of the tend commandments were mentioned but not the 4th commandment. That was fulfilled by Christ and Christ became the Sabbath for us. That's why Christians (the majority) do not avoid fire or gathering or working on Saturdays.

Joh 5:16 And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the sabbath day.
Joh 5:17 But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.

Even the Father works on the Sabbath.

No. No mocking. I just put it quotes so I wouldn't get blamed for it.
I still don't want the TCs on my heart. Not for me. The law was given to the Israelites alone through Moses.

Jesus never broke the Sabbath. If he did so it would have been sin because sin is the transgression or breaking of God's law *1 JOHN 3:4. Jesus came to teach mankind how to keep the Sabbath. Jesus was only breaking the Sabbath in the eyes of the Pharisees because they placed so many man made traditions around Sabbath keeping that it had become a burden to the people.

Can you read a portion of a book and claim you know the whole story?

Well you can’t provide snippets of scripture and claim that you are giving the whole of the truth behind what is being said

And those who know the whole story will point that error out to you

So, it's not a sin for Jesus to break the Sabbath? How come?

Because important, moral and Divine reasons make profaning the Sabbath a faultless thing like the two examples he cited in his defense.

Do you think he is the Lord of the Sabbath or something? lol (his call)

He had already proven he could break the Sabbath without fault for certain reasons but he added this to end the discussion because he was the Lord of the Sabbath and greater than the temple, he naturally is immune from any wrong doing but this was given as extra...like I said he already had proven himself not guilty of anything.

We may read different bibles what do you mean God's 4th commandment is not mentioned?

What did Jesus and the Apostles teach about the Sabbath in the New Testament?

1. It is lawful to do good on the Sabbath (Matthew 12:1-8; 10-12; 24:20; Mark 3:1-5; Luke 6:1-10; 13:14-16; 14:1-5; John 7:22-23; 9:14; Mark 1:21; Mark 6:2; Luke 4:16; 31; Luke 14:1; 23:56)
2. Jesus made the Sabbath for all mankind (Hebrews 1:2; John 1:1-3; 14; Ephesians 3:9; Colossians 1:16-17; Mark 2:27)
3. Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath (Mark 2:28)
4. If you do not believe and follow God you cannot enter His Sabbath rest (Hebrews 4)
5. It is one of God’s 10 commandments we break it we are guilty or breaking all (James 2:8-12)
6. Breaking it is sin (1 John 3:4)
7. God’s true followers keep it Holy as God commanded (Revelation 14:12; Revelation 22:14; Ezekiel 20:20)
8. Jesus is our example and he kept the Sabbath (Matthew 12:1-8; 10-12; 24:20; Mark 3:1-5; Luke 6:1-10; 13:14-16; 14:1-5; John 7:22-23; 9:14; Mark 1:21; Mark 6:2; Luke 4:16; 31; Luke 14:1; 23:56; John 2:6; Matthew 16:24; 1 Corinthians 11:1; Eph 5:1-21; Peter 2:20-22)
9. The Apostle kept the Sabbath (Acts 13:14; 13:27; 13:44; 15:21; 16:13; 17:2; 18:4; Revelation 1:10)

................

HEBREWS 4:9 So then it remains for the people of God to keep the Sabbath.

................

Where does it say in God's WORD that Jesus is a Sabbath? God's SABBATH is the SEVENTH DAY OF THE WEEK *EXODUS 20:8-11

Hope this helps

LGW made an interesting point.

There is nothing in the Sabbath commandment about gathering on the Sabbath for worship. Therefore, you can't move Sunday worship to Saturday and call it Sabbath-keeping. Isn't that something? I'm stunned. I know, I know... it doesn't take much.

Can this be true? Why were the Israelites going to synagogue on the Sabbath if there is no commandment to do such in the law?
I was staying in a hotel in Tiberias when the Hezbollah started firing rockets from Lebanon into Israeli in 2006. On Sabbath I was going out to walk along the waterfront. I walked past the hotel lobby and saw and heard a group of men and women in metal folding chairs taking part in a synagogue service. I had stayed at that hotel before and had never seen anything like this. I figured they were refugees from areas threatened by rocket fire. They kept to their readings and spoken affirmations going until after sunset, then they concluded their meeting and dispersed. I had been listening to them from my room adjacent to the lobby, but could not understand their speech. Jews are allowed to attend synagogue on Shabaht/Sabbath. They are only allowed to walk about half a mile on Sabbath, more or less, thus their meetings tend to be smaller.
