Validity of Origen's writings?

Do you think body/soul/spirit is man made in the image of the Trinity?

Well if we consider that man is the temple of the Holy Ghost...we are the 3 part temple of Solomon.

Outer courts: body
Inner courts: soul
Holy of Holies: spirit.

Well let's put the breaks on that shall we? For one, St. Paul says that our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit, "Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own," (1 Corinthians 6:19), he says this in relation to how we use our bodies, specifically in his condemnation of engaging in sex with temple prostitutes.

Elsewhere Scripture speaks of us--i.e. the Church--as God's temple collectively (c.f. 1 Corinthians 3:16-17, 2 Corinthians 6:16, 1 Peter 2:5, Ephesians 2:19-22).

Care to elaborate? Do you have a sound bit of wisdom you are for others to learn from?

It's just totally baseless. There's no need to comment on it. Why shouldn't it be, for example that the soul is the Holy of Holies rather than the spirit? What's the difference between the soul and the spirit and on what basis is this distinction made?

So are you saying our bodies are the Holy of Holies? If so, biblically the Holy of Holies can never be defiled without death.

Apparently you felt the need to comment on it initially.

When you do deliverance the distinction between the soul and the spirit...the inner courts and the Holy of Holies has a huuuuge difference.

Have you been a part of deliverance? If not, how can you be certain?

Where is your biblical basis of certainty?

I don't need a biblical basis of certainty to reject ideas that aren't found in Scripture.

Please demonstrate from Scripture that there is a difference between the soul and the spirit. Please demonstrate from Scripture what this difference is. Also demonstrate from Scripture why this difference is important.

Until you can do those things, you're just making stuff up.

Glad to do some research for you.

If you would please stop flinging mud with you lack of helpful words that would be "grrrreeeeat".

So would you please answer my questions...if at least the deliverance ones... since i am glad to answer yours.

What's deliverance?

What I reject is a trichotomy of man into body, soul, and spirit. The Bible uses the terms "soul" and "spirit" interchangeably.

Deliverance as in exorcisms.

Do you believe the hebrew, aramaic and greek use it interchangeably in all cases along with temple?

I've never witnessed an exorcism.

The Bible isn't written in Aramaic aside from a few selections in Daniel which are not relevant to this discussion.

The relevant Hebrew words are:
  1. ruach - Spirit, wind, breath
  2. nephesh - life, neck, soul
  3. lev - heart, mind
The relevant Greek words are
  1. psyche - soul, person
  2. pneuma - spirit, wind, breath
  3. nous - mind
  4. kardia - heart
Certainly these words can have different nuances in different situations. For example, if one says "my life is in danger" they will probably use nephesh rather than lev because of the connotations. But all of these terms point to the inner life of man and no sharp division between soul, spirit, mind, and heart is possible.

This doesn't really have any direct connection to the concept of the temple.

Like I said, I will research it for you. It is taking place right now.

I am researching it right now. I am glad to admit if I am wrong.

Can you please expand upon the idea that 1 Cor 3:16-17 is talking about the Church rather than an individual?

The "you" in this passage is plural. "Don't y'all know that y'all (plural) are God's temple (singular) and God's Spirit dwells in y'all?"
