There appears to be a controversy concerning the Olivet Discourse with the Gospel of Luke 21 showing the destruction of 1st century Jerusalem and Matt/Mar showing a future destruction of Jerusalem.
This is going to be about Luke and Revelation and perhaps from the OT. [particular Luke 19 and 21] in relation to the destruction of Jerusalem in 70ad.
Luke 21:5 is dererving of particualar attention.

Luke 21:5 uses 3 words that are also used in Revelation:

Both use a form of "anathema", "adorn" and "goodly/precious stones":

Luke 21 and Revelation both use the form of the greek word for "anathema"

334. anathema from 394 (like 331, but in a good sense);
a votive offering:--gift.
303. ana an-ah' a primary preposition and adverb; properly, up; but (by extension) used (distributively) severally, or (locally) at (etc.)
331. anathema an-ath'-em-ah from 394; a (religious) ban or (concretely) excommunicated (thing or person):--accused, anathema, curse, X great.

Luke 21:5
And certain-ones saying about the Temple,
that to goodly stones and to devoted-things/anaqhmasin <334> it has been adorned/kekosmhtai <2885> (5769).

2652. katanathema kat-an-ath'-em-ah from 2596 (intensive) and 331;
an imprecation:--curse.

2596. kata kat-ah' a primary particle; (prepositionally) down (in place or time), in varied relations (according to the case (genitive, dative or accusative) with which it is joined):
331. anathema an-ath'-em-ah from 394; a (religious) ban or (concretely) excommunicated (thing or person):--accused, anathema, curse, X great.

Revelation 22:3
and every anathema/cursed-thing/kat-ana-qema> <2652> not shall be still.
And the throne of the God and of the Lamb-kin in Her shall be,
and His bond-servants shall be offering divine-service to Him.

#2885 is used in both Luke 21 and Revelation 21 [which is a derivative of the root word #2889 used for "world"]

2885. kosmeo kos-meh'-o from 2889;
to put in proper order, i.e. decorate (literally or figuratively); specially, to snuff (a wick):--adorn, garnish, trim.

Luke 21:5
And certain-ones saying about the Temple, that to goodly stones and to devoted-things/ana-qhmasin <334> it has been adorned/kekosmhtai <2885> (5769).

Revelation 21:2
And I John, saw the holy City, the New Jerusalem descending from the God out of the Heaven
having been made ready as a bride having been adorned/kekosmhmenhn <2885> (5772) to the man/husband of Her.

And goodly/precious stones:

2570. kalos kal-os' of uncertain affinity;
properly, beautiful, but chiefly (figuratively) good (literally or morally), i.e. valuable or virtuous (for appearance or use, and thus distinguished from 18, which is properly intrinsic):

Luke 21:5
And certain-ones saying about the Temple, that to goodly<2570> stones<3037> and to devoted-things/ana-qhmasin <334> it has been adorned/kekosmhtai <2885> (5769).

5093. timios tim'-ee-os, including the comparative timioteros tim-ee-o'-ter-os, and the superlative timiotatos tim-ee-o'-tat-os from 5092;
valuable, i.e. (objectively) costly, or (subjectively) honored

Revelation 21:19
And the foundations of the wall of the City were adorned<2885> all manner of precious<5093> stones<3037>.
The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;

Keep in mind, that all three Gospels mention the Temple and and stone upon stone which can be viewed on this other thread:
Let's take a look at the Temple in the verses below.

2411.
hieron hee-er-on' neuter of 2413;
a sacred place, i.e. the entire precincts (whereas 3485 denotes the central sanctuary itself) of the Temple (at Jerusalem or elsewhere):--temple.

Matthew 24:
1 And Jesus coming out, departed from the Temple<2411>.
And His Disciples approached Him to show to Him the buildings of the Temple.
Mark 13:1
And He going forth out of the Temple,<2411>
one of His Disciples is saying to Him “Teacher!
behold! what manner of stones and what manner of buildings”
Luke 21:
5 and of some saying concerning the Temple<2411>
that to goodly stones and votive-offerings it has been adorned

The word for Temple<2411> used in the Olivet Discourse is no where to be found in the book of Revelation!
That's right, nada, zilch, zero times.......

Genesis 1:1 (YLT)
Strong's Number G2411 matches the Greek ἱερόν (hieron),
which occurs 71 times in 67 verses

The 1st time it is used is when the Devil put Jesus on a pinnacle of the Temple:

Matthew 4:5
Then the Devil taketh him up into the holy City, and setteth Him on a pinnacle of the Temple<2411>

Last time used:

1 Corinthians 9:13
Have ye not known that those working about the things of the Temple<2411> -- of the Temple<2411> do eat,
and those waiting at the Altar -- with the Altar are partakers?

Matthew 24:1:
And Jesus coming out, departed from the Temple<2411>.
Mark 13:1
And He going forth out of the Temple,<2411>
Luke 21:

5 and of some saying concerning the Temple<2411>
The equivalent Hebrew word for Temple is #1964
[The equivalent word for Sanctuary is #4720]

Genesis 1:1 (YLT)

The great Malachi prophecy of the coming of John the Baptist and Jesus

Malachi 3:1
"Behold! I am sending My messenger, and he hath prepared a way before Me,
And suddenly come in unto His Temple<1964> doth 'Adown/Lord-Master whom ye are seeking,
Even the Messenger of the Covenant, Whom ye are desiring.
Behold! He is coming" says Yahweh of Hosts.

1st time Jesus enters the Temple [at age 12]:

Luke 2:42
42 And when He was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem according to the custom of the feast.
46 Now so it was that after three days they found Him in the Temple<2411>, sitting in the midst of the Teachers, both listening to them and asking them questions.
And all who heard Him were astonished at His understanding and answers
.[Isaiah 11:6 "..and a little child shall lead them"]

All 4 Gospels show the cleansing of the Temple.
[Jeremiah 7:11]

(Matthew 21:12-17; Mark 11:15-19; Luke 19:45-48 John 2:14]

Luke doesn't mention oxen, sheep or doves.

Luke 19:
45 And having entered into the Temple<2411>, He began to cast out those selling,
46 saying to them, “It has been written: ‘And My house will be a house of prayer, but ye have made it a den of robbers'"

Matt and Mark both mention "doves"

Matthew 21:

12 And Jesus entered into the Temple<2411> and cast out all those selling and buying in the Temple<2411>,
and He overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those selling the doves.

Mark 11:
15 And they come to Jerusalem.
And having entered into the Temple<2411>, He began to cast out those selling and those buying in the temple.
And He overturned the tables of the money changers, and the seats of those selling doves.

John mentions oxen, sheep and doves

John 2:
14 and He found in the Temple<2411> those selling oxen and sheep and doves, and the money-changers sitting,

Reve 18 shows the buyers in 70ad Jerusalem not buying from the merchants any more, as the City/Temple are destroyed.

Beasts and Sheep are mentioned

Revelation 18:
11 And the merchants of the land are lamenting and are mourning over Her,
that the cargo of them no-one is buying not-still
13 and cinnamon and incenses and attars and frankincense and wine and oil and flour and grain
and beasts and sheep

and of horses and of chariots and of bodies and souls of men

Matthew 24, Mark 13 and Luke 21 harmonized

All 3 use the greek word #2647.

Matt 24 and Luk 21 use the same exact word form of #2647:

Matthew 24:2
And Jesus said to them, “ are ye not seeing all these?
Amen I am saying to ye, not no may be being left here stone upon stone, which not shall be being thrown-down/kata-luqhsetai <2647>.

Mark 13:2
And Jesus answering said to him, “thou are beholding these, the great buildings.
Not no may be being left here stone upon stone which not no may be being thrown-down/kata-luqh<2647>

Luke 21:
6 “These which ye are beholding.
Shall be coming days in which not shall be being left stone upon stone here which not shall be being thrown-down/kata-luqhsetai<2647>

[It is not used in Revelation.]

# 2647 has the prefix #2596 and root word #3089

2647. kataluo kat-al-oo'-o from 2596 and 3089;
to loosen down (disintegrate), i.e. (by implication) to demolish (literally or figuratively); specially (compare 2646) to halt for the night:--destroy, dissolve, be guest, lodge, come to nought, overthrow, throw down.
2596. kata kat-ah' a primary particle; (prepositionally) down (in place or time), in varied relations (according to the case (genitive, dative or accusative) with which it is joined)
3089. luo loo'-o a primary verb;

to "loosen" (literally or figuratively):--break (up), destroy, dissolve, (un-)loose, melt, put off. Compare 4486.

Genesis 1:1 (NASB)
Strong's Number G3089 matches the Greek λύω (lyō), which occurs 45 times in 39 verses

#3089 is used 7 times in Revelation and generally in relation to "loosing/freeing"
The exact word form used in Revelation 5:2-5 is used in 2 verses of Mark and Luke

Mark 1:7

And he preached, saying, “There comes One after me who is mightier than I,
whose sandal strap I am not worthy to stoop down and loose<3089>.
Luke: 3:16
John answered and said to them all, “As for me, I baptize you with water; but One is coming who is mightier than I, and I am not fit to loose<3089> the thong of His sandals; [Revelation 20:3-5]
He will baptize you [fn]with the Holy Spirit and fire.

Revelation 5:2
2 And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to loose<3089> its seals?”
5 But one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David,
has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose,<3089> its seven seals.”

This form used in Revelation 20:3 is usedy only 1 time in the Gospels, Luke 3:16

Revelation 20:3
and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished. But after these things he must be loosed<3089> for a little while.

This is interesting. This form of #2089 is used only in 2 verses of the NT

2 Peter 3:10
and it will come -- the day of the Lord -- as a thief in the night, in which the heavens with a rushing noise will pass away, and the elements with burning heat shall be being loosed<3089>, and land and the works in it shall be burnt up.

Revelation 20:7
And when the thousand years may be finished, the Satan shall be being loosed<3089> out of his prison,

All 3 use the exact same form of #2064

Luke 21
6 “These which ye are beholding.
Shall come<2064> days in which not shall be being left stone upon stone here which not shall be being thrown-down.
8 And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived:
for many shall come<2064> in my name,
saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.

Matthew 24:5
For many shall come<2064> in my name,
saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

Mark 13:6
For many shall come<2064> in my name,
saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

That exact form is used in 11 verses, but none in Revelation

John 11:48
If we let him thus alone, all men will believe on him: and the Romans shall come<2064>
and take away us, the place and the nation.
2 Peter 3:3
first knowing this, that in the last days scoffers shall come<2064> with scoffing,
following according to their own evil desires,
Jude 1:18
that they were saying to you, “In the last time that shall come<2064> scoffers,
following after their own passions of ungodlinesses.

#2064 used in 33 verses of Revelation......
Last time used:

Revelation 22:20
he saith -- who is testifying these things -- 'Yes, I come<2064> quickly!' Amen!
Yes, be coming<2064>, Lord Jesus!

Hi,

Rev.1:10(JB2000) I was in the Spirit in the day of the Lord and heard behind me a great voice as of a trumpet,

John was in the day of the Lord

Rev.12:7(ASV) And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels going forth to war with the dragon; and the dragon warred and his angels; 8And they prevailed not, neither was their place found any more in heaven.

9And the great dragon was cast down, the old serpent, he that is called the Devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world; he was cast down to the earth, and his angels were cast down with him.

10And I heard a great voice in heaven, saying, Now is come the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, who accuseth them before our God day and night. 11And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb, and because of the word of their testimony; and they loved not their life even unto death.

Lk.10:17(ASV) And the seventy returned with joy, saying, Lord, even the demons are subject unto us in thy name.

18And he said unto them, I beheld Satan fallen as lightning from heaven.

19Behold, I have given you authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall in any wise hurt you.
20Nevertheless in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.*

*Rev.21:14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

on them twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

Jn.12:30 Jesus answered and said, This voice hath not come for my sake, but for your sakes.

31Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.

32And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto myself.

now shall the prince of this world be cast out.

Jn.16:10 of righteousness, because I go to the Father, and ye behold me no more;
11 of judgment, because the prince of this world hath been judged.

the prince of this world hath been judged.

Matt.28:16 And the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mount where Jesus appointed them, 17 and having seen him, they bowed to him, but some did waver. 18 And having come near, Jesus spake to them, saying, ‘Given to me was all authority in heaven and on earth;

Given to me was all authority in heaven and on earth;

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. (2Cor.5:17)

The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;

.

NATION RISING AGAINST NATION
Luke 21:10 Then he said to them, “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.
Revelation 6:3-4 When he opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, “Come!” 4And out came another horse, bright red. Its rider was permitted to take peace from the earth, so that people should slay one another, and he was given a great sword.

EARTHQUAKES
Luke 21:11 There will be great earthquakes
Revelation 8:5 Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and hurled it on the earth; and there came peals of thunder, rumblings, flashes of lightning and an earthquake.
Revelation 16:18 Then there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder and a severe earthquake. No earthquake like it has ever occurred since mankind has been on earth, so tremendous was the quake
Revelation 6:12 I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake.

FAMINES AND PESITLENCES
Luke 21:11 and in various places famines and pestilences.
Revelation 6:5-8 When he opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come!” And I looked, and behold, a black horse! And its rider had a pair of scales in his hand. 6And I heard what seemed to be a voice in the midst of the four living creatures, saying, “A quarta of wheat for a denarius,b and three quarts of barley for a denarius, and do not harm the oil and wine!” When he opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, “Come!” And I looked, and behold, a pale horse! And its rider’s name was Death, and Hades followed him. And they were given authority over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword and with famine and with pestilence and by wild beasts of the earth.
Revelation 16:2 So the first angel went and poured out his bowl on the earth, and harmful and painful sores came upon the people who bore the mark of the beast and worshiped its image.
Revelation 16:11 and cursed the God of heaven for their pain and sores. They did not repent of their deeds.

PERSECUTION
Luke 21:12-19 But before all this they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before kings and governors for my name’s sake. This will be your opportunity to bear witness. Settle it therefore in your minds not to meditate beforehand how to answer, for I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which none of your adversaries will be able to withstand or contradict. You will be delivered up even by parents and brothers and relatives and friends, and some of you they will put to death. You will be hated by all for my name’s sake. But not a hair of your head will perish. By your endurance you will gain your lives.
Revelation 6:9-11 When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the witness they had borne. They cried out with a loud voice, “O Sovereign Lord, holy and true, how long before you will judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?” Then they were each given a white robe and told to rest a little longer, until the number of their fellow servants and their brothersc should be complete, who were to be killed as they themselves had been.
Revelation 12:11 And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death
Revelation 13:15,17 might cause those who would not worship the image of the beast to be slain. so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark, that is, the name of the beast or the number of its name.
Revelation 14:12 Here is a call for the endurance of the saints, those who keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus.
Revelation 20:4 Also I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands.

DESOLATION OF JERUSALEM
Luke 21:20 “But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation has come near
Revelation 11:2 but do not measure the court outside the temple; leave that out, for it is given over to the nations, and they will trample the holy city for forty-two months.
Revelation 17:16 And the ten horns that you saw, they and the beast will hate the prostitute. They will make her desolate and naked, and devour her flesh and burn her up with fire,

Revelation 14:8 Another angel, a second, followed, saying, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great, she who made all nations drink the wine of the passion of her sexual immorality.”
Revelation 18:21 Then a mighty angel picked up a boulder the size of a large millstone and threw it into the sea, and said “With such violence the great city of Babylon will be thrown down, never to be found again.
Revelation 16:19 The great city split into three parts, and the cities of the nations collapsed. God remembered Babylon the Great and gave her the cup filled with the wine of the fury of his wrath

FLEEING JERUSALEM
Luke 21:21 let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, and let those who are inside the city depart, and let not those who are out in the country enter it,
Revelation 18:4 Then I heard another voice from heaven say“ ‘Come out of her, my people,’ b

FULFILLMENT OF PUNISHMENT
Luke 21:22 For this is the time of punishment in fulfillment of all that has been written.
Revelation 17:17 For God has put it into their hearts to accomplish his purpose by agreeing to hand over to the beast their royal authority, until God’s words are fulfilled

Revelation 18:24 In her was found the blood of prophets and of God’s holy people,
of all who have been slaughtered on the earth.”

TIMES OF GENTILES
Luke 21:24 They will fall by the sword and will be taken as prisoners to all the nations. Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.
Revelation 13:9-10 Whoever has ears, let them hear.“If anyone is to go into captivity,
into captivity they will go. If anyone is to be killed with the sword, with the sword they will be killed.”
Revelation 11:2 but do not measure the court outside the temple; leave that out, for it is given over to the nations, and they will trample the holy city for forty-two months.

SIGNS IN THE HEAVENS
Luke 21:25-26 There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. People will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken.
Revelation 6:12-14 I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red, and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind. The heavens receded like a scroll being rolled up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place.
Revelation 8:12 The fourth angel sounded his trumpet, and a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them turned dark. A third of the day was without light, and also a third of the night.

334. anathema from 394 (like 331, but in a good sense);
a votive offering:--gift.
303. ana an-ah' a primary preposition and adverb; properly, up; but (by extension) used (distributively) severally, or (locally) at (etc.)
331. anathema an-ath'-em-ah from 394; a (religious) ban or (concretely) excommunicated (thing or person):--accused, anathema, curse, X great.

Luke 21:5

And certain-ones saying about the Temple,
that to goodly stones and to devoted-things/anaqhmasin <334> it has been adorned/kekosmhtai <2885> (5769).

2652. katanathema kat-an-ath'-em-ah from 2596 (intensive) and 331;

an imprecation:--curse.
2596. kata kat-ah' a primary particle; (prepositionally) down (in place or time), in varied relations (according to the case (genitive, dative or accusative) with which it is joined):
331. anathema an-ath'-em-ah from 394; a (religious) ban or (concretely) excommunicated (thing or person):--accused, anathema, curse, X great.

2885. kosmeo kos-meh'-o from 2889;

to put in proper order, i.e. decorate (literally or figuratively); specially, to snuff (a wick):--adorn, garnish, trim.

2570. kalos kal-os' of uncertain affinity;

properly, beautiful, but chiefly (figuratively) good (literally or morally), i.e. valuable or virtuous (for appearance or use, and thus distinguished from 18, which is properly intrinsic):

Luke 21:5
And certain-ones saying about the Temple, that to goodly<2570> stones<3037> and to devoted-things/ana-qhmasin <334> it has been adorned/kekosmhtai <2885> (5769).

5093. timios tim'-ee-os, including the comparative timioteros tim-ee-o'-ter-os, and the superlative timiotatos tim-ee-o'-tat-os from 5092;
valuable, i.e. (objectively) costly, or (subjectively) honored

Revelation 21:19
And the foundations of the wall of the City were adorned<2885> all manner of precious<5093> stones<3037>.
The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;

.

Luke 17:34-37 tell you, on that night two people will be in one bed; one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding grain together; one will be taken and the other left.” “Where, Lord?” they asked. He replied, “Where there is a dead body, there the EAGLES will gather.”

Revelation 8:13 As I watched, I heard an EAGLE that was flying in midair call out in a loud voice: “Woe! Woe! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth, because of the trumpet blasts about to be sounded by the other three angels!”
