Kind of odd no one is talking about Kanye West and Trump meeting

Well maybe don't comment on someone's thread about politics if you aren't ready to contribute
It is hard enough keeping things on track we certainly don't want someone coming in here commenting that isn't adding to the thread in at least an on topic manner.

I had a pretty simple and direct question and still haven't been given a reasonable reply for my question. Just a bunch of people avoiding the question.
My comment was intended to point out that that news website (and all others IMO) was not necessarily a good source of information. However, two thoughts that came to mind were, (1) Kayne West influences millions of people's feelings, and (2) what do you believe the President's responsibility is regarding the effects of the hurricane? I'm not aware of any Presidential obligation.

Does this mean everything else in government should stop because a storm is going on elsewhere in the USA?

Hmmm. Good question. Let's consult the Book of Trump aka Trump's Obama tweets:

Donald J. Trump on Twitter

Yesterday Obama campaigned with JayZ & Springsteen while Hurricane Sandy victims across NY & NJ are still decimated by Sandy. Wrong!
3:01 PM - 6 Nov 2012

Apparently the answer is yes, this is exactly what's supposed to happen.

Yea so your point had nothing to do with what I asked and was just to push your agenda. I get it. We all get it. When people say news websites aren't legitimate sources of information it means you are saying you don't like where the information comes from. Stop boring the rest of us.

However, two thoughts that came to mind were, (1) Kayne West influences millions of people's feelings, and (2) what do you believe the President's responsibility is regarding the effects of the hurricane? I'm not aware of any Presidential obligation.

I think a President should not be entertaining someone who only cares about himself, who has built his entire life on taking advantage of people and who has shown for nearly 14 years now he has no business having the honor of being in the White House and wasting the President of the United States time while people suffer.

That is what I think. Let me know when you watch the video.

Please, stop confusing Republicans who are trying to make themselves feel comfortable with a morally bankrupt Republican President.

How do you not know if you are okay with the way that the President of the United States invited Kanye West into the White House for this? Just pretend that Anderson Cooper didn't make this video and CNN wasn't behind it and a Category 4 Hurricane wasn't wiping out towns and cities during it. Ignore that those are facts.
There's always a disaster.

Life goes on.
Just pretend for a moment that those did not happen and say exactly what you just said and honestly tell me if this is how a President should act.
What exactly are you outraged about?
This President gets special treatment from Republicans, despite having some of the most deplorable morals, dare I say manners and just walking around common sense.
Donald Trump has taken more grief from his own party than any president in at least the past century.

Still, his policies have benefited the nation. His voters understand that. Many independents understand. Kanye West understands that.

As for Anderson Cooper ... that matter would be a non-issue if the press were less biased. So long as CNN, NBC, CBS and ABC continue to blast Trump in an uneven and under-handed way though, they can expect to be criticized, just as they should be.

Going on a campaign tour during the time customary set aside for the expected "Presidential Sympathy Visit" is hardly the same thing as continuing with a previously scheduled 30 minute meeting while a hurricane area is totally unapproachable and inaccessible.

Even though it causes undo hardships on disaster stricken areas, it seems it is expected for all presidents to show their faces at those places during a traditional time period directly following the mishap.

What exactly are you outraged about?

Not really much. It was a simple question. Why the video? You a drinker? Country fan?

This was my post:

Which one of you straight ticket Republican Trump supporters around here want to defend this: https://www.cnn.com/videos/politics...eting-hurricane-michael-cooper-kth-ac-vpx.cnn

Want to answer it instead of skipping and disecting my replies to others?

Donald Trump has taken more grief from his own party than any president in at least the past century.

It is adorable that you want to play the emotion card.

Still, his policies have benefited the nation. His voters understand that. Many independents understand. Kanye West understands that.

He had 46 percent of the eligible voters and hey, if you think that is going up since 2016 then you just keep thinking that. Go you.

As for Anderson Cooper ... that matter would be a non-issue if the press were less biased. So long as CNN, NBC, CBS and ABC continue to blast Trump in an uneven and under-handed way though, they can expect to be criticized, just as they should be.

I can almost feel your pain in my sides as I laugh.

Because there's always a disaster somewhere. Life goes on.
You a drinker?
Not at all. More a tee-totaler.
Winking_smiley.gif

Country fan?
Yep.

I like good music ... from multiple genres.
Want to answer it instead of skipping and disecting my replies to others?
Nope. I'm not a Trump voter.

I simply asked you a straight-forward question. You now say you're not outraged ... but your posts come across as being greatly upset that Trump didn't focus 100% of his energies on one section of the country at the instant in time you believe that he should have.

Why is that so important to you?
It is adorable that you want to play the emotion card.
Outraged and snarky, too.

Ok.

Sorry for being a pain in your side.

Glad you're laughing though.

Why is that so important to you?

Because there was no reason to have Kanye West in the White House with a pile of media. It is important to me because I find it unacceptable. There is no reason for it. It is unacceptable.

Nope. I'm not a Trump voter.

At least we have something in common.

Obama had visited NJ the week before. Chris Christie praising Obama was the topic at the time, people were mad he was speaking so glowingly of him near the election.

OP, sorry I don't mean to derail your thread, the tweet seemed relevant considering the comment I was responding to.

Gov. Christie praises Obama's response to Hurricane Sandy as ‘outstanding’

No problem. I really never got my answer but wow I really worry about this:

You racist?

One suspects that you don't like seeing a black man in Trump's White House.

You know, if you just said "I like it when my guy does it, don't like it when the other party's guy does it" I'd actually have some respect for you.

Absolutely not. I applaud Republicans believing that a meeting with Kanye West is the important thing the president can do, and should be celebrated as an example of Trump being our leader.

Seems to me that Trump is simply reaching out to the black community.

Not seeing any issue. At. All.

There was no reason to have this meeting. I love the fact that you ended your sentence with Anderson Cooper should be the better person and not our President. Do you hold Cooper to higher standards than our President? That says a lot about those that are unwilling to put their bias aside. While you may not be a Trump fan, you said not one thing about Trump having West in the White House for a photo op while a Hurricane destroyed the panhandle of Florida. Instead, you take a shot at how a reporter could be better.

It does not lend much hope for me that there are Republicans out there that will stand up to this President when they can't even say anything negative about what happened with this meeting while at the same time attacking the source.

I'm just happy that you consider Trump to be your president!
