Hell is most definitely real.
We even get to experience some of it in our normal everyday lives since the fall of man.
For instance sickness, poverty, rape, insomnia. All these exist in hell.

Hell is HOT. It also smells like the worst sewer and the screams are ridiculous to the point it would cause physical pain. It's also manure and urine that people rarely talk about.
The walls have demons in them and it moves.
Terrible stuff.
That's why we need to stay close to GOD.

That sounds scary and alarming. Now I am likely to believe and follow any method you propose to avoid this fate.

I know of IRS scammers who call the young and elderly, telling them they are in trouble with the law, defrauded the government, and are about to get arrested. After they get the person alarmed and scared, they proceed to give them a way out: pay us 3k now and avoid all of the bad stuff mentioned at the beginning of the call. These scammer are very successful.

The Gospel should be different......

The one Church Jesus Christ founded, which He said was to remain one, to which He promised the fullness of truth, has always taught that Hell is real. Therefore it is real. What any manmade denominational church believes about it is irrelevant.

Another question I have is the story about the nephilim and how there were beings created by demons having sex with humans and those beings had no hope of redemption. They were destined to eternity in hell. How is that fair? That story in itself has always bothered me.

Jesus Christ told of those that will never get mercy. Their worm will not die. They will be looked upon by the just for eternity.

The Bible tells of those that died in their sins, and how the wicked have no hope in their death. All men will be judged. Judas - went to his own place.
In Acts 12 Herod gave a speech. Afterwards he allowed people to worship him. He was struck with worms. The worms did not die, but continued to eat his tissues. His life on earth became a living hell as life passed from him. I do not believe he was tortured forever. A trillion ants messed up, took wrong turns and died. I do not believe they will be tortured forever either.

I have a confession to make.
Looking into such things as heaven and hell carry a cost.
The cost is you might find ones faith is nuts, or the things put forward by God are just not acceptable.

The other is maybe there is no reasonable conclusion to come to.
But to date all these questions, that I have walked into, the Lord has answered and it is much more full and consistent than I could have imagined.

Do you believe in Jesus? Then ask the questions and seek His answer in His word.

So your faith, is it real, will you put it on the line and walk with Him?
A subject like heaven and hell you will meet every time a loved one dies.
Could you survive seeing a loved one in torment in hell for eternity with no escape?
Or is there maybe a different reality. And why are you a believer? Sometimes the
reasons for reassurance do not want to face these difficult issues.

For some hell is bitterness revenge against those that they feel bad about.
But we are called to love and pray for those caught in sin and the world.

What we deem justice on sinners might reflect more about where we are rather
than God really is and what true justice actually is.

I believe hell is real for several reasons. For one Jesus said it was real (Luke 16: 19-31) (Matthew 18:8-9). For two there have been many NDE's where unbelievers have gone to hades and many believers have gone to heaven. True there have been NDEs from unbelievers who apparently have seen heaven but that's not my point. There is plenty of biblical evidence out there for the existence of hell so of course I believe it. Plus it makes since that Goff has to punish sin in some form. So a hades and lake of fire has to exist. Personally I don't believe in annihalationism anymore mostly because it scares me more than the concept of hell does. To me to be annighalted completely is more scary than being tormented forever. That's one reason I always believed in an afterlife. Because to not exist for forever is much scarier. No Jesus and the bible is real. I know it.

I have not heard much ambiguity about whether hell is real. Most discussions are about whether it is eternal or ends with the death of the soul, or how it looks like in general. Most things we heard were metaphors. I don't think the question of existence is an issue, but rather the appearance and inner workings of it. For example, I don't buy into the whole fire and burning thing.

Genesis 6:4 "There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown."

The book of Enoch(which isn't canon) has more on this. I suggest checking it out.

I have heard that many Christians do not believe that hell is real. I found this to be absurd, but I am open to hearing both sides of the argument. So that is what has lead me to proposing this question, is Hell real?
If it is or is not please explain.

P.S. I for one do believe it exist. Sorry for the pun in the poll but is just too much for me to resist.

I am in the camp that I believe Jesus was not lying when he described or referred to hell. However, there are simply too many different images presented in the Bible to be sure what exactly hell is. But all references to such a place are very specific that it is a place nobody wants to be whatever it is. If it is a place where we are simply totally separated from God, that would make it terrifying enough to be very grateful of assurance we won't be consigned there.

Sorry a bit more context: Genesis 6

"1 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,

2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

3 And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.

4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually."

The nephilim were giants created by demons and they had no chance of redemption because they were evil. I have a belief that the Anti-Christ will be a form of the nephilim.

Read Enoch for more information that may or may not be true on the nephilm.

I think as a believer we every word we speak should be life.. and uplifting ..or but that which is good to the use of edifying to show grace to the hearers...just didn't appreciate the poll.

Now hell as in when you die or after all we stand before Him? We that KNOW Him will not. But as it is written one should take this up with the GOD that is IN YOU.. prayer.. seek..you will find.. Knock..it will be open...ask..He will answer.

In Rev He said "Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire" " And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death."

Some SAY that have seen hell. Some have backed it up with the word. One is very hard pressed to find one of those story to match any other. For me when I read the Great white throne judgment has not happen. To think people die.. go and (Forgive me Father) to burn..to then get taken out to be judged then put back in tossed away..to a place that was never meant for them. I do not believe anyone is burning right now. God is JUST...

And truth.. Would God that can not use fear like WE DO..you know take young kids show them PRISON to scare them straight? God can not use the spirit of fear. He can not will not use ANYTHING to tip the scales so to speak. YOUR CHOICE must be YOURS alone. He will NEVER use fear to make have anyone believe. Shows how much we do not KNOW Him. Some will not see this believe this. Yet its true.. MAN does this kind of thing.. thinks like this.. God is no man nor does He think like one. What we personally think should happen.. HE DOES NOT

Now SOME can get stuck on a word or two..as in HELL..what it really means. I watched a FAMOUS actor...where she was asked about after life.. said..hmm no. 'Whats so hard about believing after this life there's nothing." WOW...to walk this earth and get slapped in the face that GOD IS REAL....yet ignore it

That is what I thought you were talking about, but I have never heard God refer to demons as his soms, and it didn't say the children were condemned. And it does not say the nephim were giants or offspring of demons.
As for the boom of Enoch, it is not to be trusted, it's spiritual authenticity is quite questionable.

Okay so listen angels are often referred to as sons of God. These were fallen sons of God. Why else do you think giants were born to them? Who do you think sons of God are talking about and why did giants come from them? It's clear it was demonic and its clear why it increased the wickedness of the planet. The demons who did this are now the demons who were cast into the chasm(bottomless pit) awaiting final judgement.

YOU don't determine what the gospel is. God does.
Indeed, Yet i do determine how I interpret and deliver it.... And I say that if your gospel sounds like the fear tactics used by scammers to get you to believe in their resolution...then you arent apt to deliver the Gospel.

It does not say the fallen sons of God, but the sons of God. At no point does it mention them as demons. It is a very interesting topic, but it is not the topic of this thread. We may have to look into this more in another thread. This has always interested me and I must confess, I do not know as much as I would like to about it.

Just because hell is real doesn't mean it's a "fear tactic". Alright? It's a real place to avoid. If a doctor tells you to stop eating fatty foods or you will have a heart attack, it's just reality and not a "fear tactic".

Revelations 20

"9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.

10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."

We should be afraid of hell, we should be afraid of the damnation, and the lack of the Lord's presence. And it is a very terrifying thought to be without the Lord at all and in the hands of the enemy, tormented forever more.

Pure angels obedient to God would not go and have sex with humans. This is only something a fallen angel would do. And not only that but this act INCREASED THE WICKEDNESS OF THE WORLD.

I will drop it since it is not the subject of this thread.
