Does God think war virtuous?

Nonsense - it's the adjectival form of virtue - Does war have any virtues according to the bible is the OP question - Now in that context we'd have to say yes and God commissioned wars and genocides - they are littered through the bible.
This is one such area where I don't side with God's reasoning - How in 1 Samuel 15 for example where he commanded to kill every man, woman and child (including the unborn in wombs). Ive heard all the justifications but none washed with me.
That said - I guess the answer to the OP is Yes - according to God war possesses virtues.

If gods, then they MUST be similar to humans in spirit. There is no other alternative on this. You and your coworkers MUST have some kind of war going on among you. I don't need your admission to know that.

In terms of war I think the Gospel teachings have Jesus asking His followers not to provoke clashes with the Roman occupiers... rather He urges them to pay their taxes... turn the other cheek... go the extra mile. At His crucifixion the crowd chose Barabbas over Jesus. Barabbas was a Zealot. A short time later the Jews rebelled against Rome and Jerusalem was destroyed and the Jews went into a diaspora.
