This was asked in my other thread. I never thought about it before.

What kind of bodies will the damned have? Will their age, physique, wounds be like they had on earth? Will their bodies be different than the bodies of the saved?

I have argued much about 1 Corinthians 15 where some think being made in the pattern of Jesus means we will be immortal. But I think the damned will also be immortal. My guess is that we won't think of the damned being in the image of Jesus.

1 Corinthians 15:42 So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; 43 it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; 44 it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body.

If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. 45 So it is written: “The first man Adam became a living being”; the last Adam, a life-giving spirit. 46 The spiritual did not come first, but the natural, and after that the spiritual. 47 The first man was of the dust of the earth; the second man is of heaven. 48 As was the earthly man, so are those who are of the earth; and as is the heavenly man, so also are those who are of heaven. 49 And just as we have borne the image of the earthly man, so shall we bear the image of the heavenly man.

50 I declare to you, brothers and sisters, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. 51 Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— 52 in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 53 For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. 54 When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”

This is from the Westminster Confession
Chapter XXXII
Of the State of Men after Death, and of the
Resurrection of the Dead

II. At the last day, such as are found alive shall not die, but be changed: and all the dead shall be raised up, with the selfsame bodies, and none other (although with different qualities), which shall be united again to their souls forever.
III. The bodies of the unjust shall, by the power of Christ, be raised to dishonor: the bodies of the just, by His Spirit, unto honor; and be made conformable to His own glorious body.

Westminster Assembly. (n.d.). Westminster Confession.

Interesting topic. I cannot answer your poll, because I honestly have never thought about it. However, my instincts tell me that scripture points to resurrection both the condemned and saved; the condemned to everlasting shame, and saved to everlasting righteousness. Both are bodies that are to endure a conscious eternity, however, the righteous are said to shine as the brightness of the stars and what not.

My answer is based upon the vessels fitted for wrath as opposed to the vessels fitted for mercy idea.

The bodies of the condemn must be able to withstand (without being utterly destroyed) the horrendous conditions of the Lake of Fire in order to suffer the vengeance of eternal fire, which means God must resurrect them in bodies specifically designed to be punished.

Maybe the difference between the just and unjust bodies will be that the faces of the just will shine like Moses face did. That would make a very obvious difference between them.
Dan 12:2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

yes. They come up as they went into the grave.

No. All the saints will be like a 25 - 30 year old ... eternal youth perfect health and strength and about twice as tall.

Vessels for God's mercy/spirit or vessels for punishment.
Good point. Kind of like it is now.

I relate it to fallen angels being the same as those in heaven, they just lost their position of authority. And, the saved living today have the same body as those not being saved.

So, maybe the damned will have the same kind of bodies that the saved will have; minus the glory from being in the presence of God.

Why twice as tall?
