I think it's obvious that the Democratic party has a major double standard while pretending to care about women. When one of their own gets accused, they act no different. Ellison's wife has actual physical evidence.

The Democratic Party is far from perfect (I'm certainly tempted to go Independent more often than not), but it actually does seem to be improving where this particular issue is concerned. Unless Republicans think that there is no reason to care about women, I'm not sure why they're pulling the tu quoque card instead of demanding higher standards from their own party.

How does agreeing with the Democratic Party Platform make someone only believe what they're told to believe? If someone has a serious disagreement with Democratic political goals, they are unlikely to be a Democrat. Presumably the same thing goes for the Republicans.

There is a bit of a conflict between establishment and progressive elements within the Democratic Party right now, though. You can see this in the formation of minor liberal parties like the Working Families Party, which tends to endorse progressive Democratic candidates. Their goals are ideological, not institutional.

I think you may have mistaken Gillibrand saying it when it was her mentor Hilliary that said it. Gillibrand waffled for the longest time before finally throwing Al Franken under the bus. She talks a good game but you really have to wonder where her true feelings lie concerning this subject considering who some of her acquaintances are and who she's accepted campaign contributions from.

Oh I almost forgot guess who was one of the people considered to fill the Franken seat when he vacated it: Keith Ellison!!

That's not how this works. If you're going to claim that someone said something and people disagree, then it's up to you to provide a quote supporting your claim. Especially if you backpedal to "that's basically what they said" - meaning that you're interpreting a statement to mean something. Your personal interpretation of a quote isn't something that I could be reasonably expected to look up.
