2 Chronicles 7:14: "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."

The interpretation is for another people of another time, by there is an application for us today. Today we need desperately to humble ourselves before God and pray sincerely from our hearts. We, as Christians need to walk the talk we are delivering, by turning aside from all those worldly distractions that are calling us away and diverting our attention from the job our Saviour has given us to do. If we will but do that, look at the promise He has given us: To HEAR us, and forgive our sin, and to heal our land. How we need those things today! May God stir our hearts and help us to answer this call! May He help us to understand that this is the only way we will have that deeper fellowship with Him, that we seek.

It seems there's always an appliction for us today, no matter what scripture we read :) I guess that just goes to show what an amazing God we serve.

May we always humble ourselves before the Lord, and seek Him with all our heart, and all our soul. There truly are many things of this world that can so easily distract us from Him. May our eyes, ears, and hearts always remain focused on God and Him only.

It's hard sometimes to remember that I not only have to seek Him, but obey Him. I like to be in prayer and fellowship with Him, but going out and actually doing what He said to do...well, sometimes that's a little harder to enjoy. Especially that "love your enemies" thing.

LOL Lambslove! I think we shall have to spend a lot of time on that "love your enemies thing"! lol! That one is a tricky one for all of us. I think I will start a thread and see what most people think that means. Might me very interesting.

Ya know you are right. I don't know why but some people think God was speaking to someone else and we are just reading about it. They don't understand that there is an application for us today through all of it.

I have had people sat, Yes BUT He was speaking to His Disciples. Well, of course He was. And WE are His Disciples if we are followers of Christ just as sure as the 12 were. So He was speaking to US.

Still others pick and choose thier verses. "Here He was speaking to His Disciples, and Here He is speaking to us! That is like those who believe part of the Bible is true and part is not. lol If it isn't ALL true how do we know which part is?

You know, I was having a very difficult time with "loving" in general.  People just frankly got on my nerves, and I think that part of the reason for that was my sensitivity.  People hurt me too easily.  Anyway, I started asking God what He wanted me to do with my life.  I think that that is a pretty normal question a person just entering into college asks God.  I was begging, pleading, and truly seeking a response.  I kept asking God to speak to me as clear as I was speaking out in my prayers.  Well, I kept seeking, asking and pleading.  I spent months just reading the Word, praying, talking and worshiping the Lord.  I was expecting an answer like..."GO BE AN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHER, GO BE A MISSIONARY...etc.", but the answer I got totally blew me away.

God answered me, not in a voice, but in a way I had never experienced before.  It is clearer than words, but I can't exactly describe it.  His answer was one of the most real things that I have ever experience.

He told me to love everyone.  To show people everywhere His love.  This had been really hard for me.  I did not love people.  They got on my nerves.  I just didn't have it in me to love them.

But I didn't need to love them.  God loves them.  He opened my eyes to His love.  It was like His love was a spring bubbling up out of me, surrounding me, and pouring out on everyone.  His love became real to me at that moment, and I was completely awed.

GERRY:

And what do you say that job is that He gave us to do?
Did He tell the true believers to follow all of the scriptures, or does scriptures tell us how to follow Him by the apostle Paul?

Paul was chosen by Jesus Christ to be the apostle to The Gentiles, not the other disciples. The other disciples were told to go to the house of Israel only!

Mat_10:5
These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:

Rom 1:1-3 Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God, (Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,) Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh;

The question need be asked then; what is the gospel of God?
The answer destroys today's false teachings of using what was given TO THE JEWS.

This also makes what is being taught by the Denominations today false!
