why or how how people ignore the obedience of faith and faith which is obedience is astounding.

ephesians ch 2 ...saved by grace THROUGH faith. through the action you take because you believe and because you believe you Act and obey JESUS .
if you dont it means NOTHING that you say you believe.John the Baptiser made it as clear as it could possibly be to believe is to obey. obedience is actioned .

quote "The Father loves the Son and has given all things into his hand.Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him."-end quote.

I appreciate your concern for upholding the infallible and inspired truth of God's Word. If you had watched the whole video, you would find that I do mention obedience. We all know the necessity of obedience.

Again, I appreciate your sensitivity toward wanting an accurate and biblical gospel message. I am always refreshed to find this quality in believers. As you can tell from this video, this was to discuss the Good News of Restoration through the Person and Work of Jesus Christ. It is intended to discuss and define the Gospel. It was NOT intended to be a teaching on one's response to the gospel invitation.

I hope this helps give peace and understanding.

I enjoyed your video. There was a key missing ingredient that could be added. And that is about the born again experience. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, so to be fully restored, the sin nature must be overcome, to a whole new nature that loves righteousness. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is necessary to make us DEAD TO SIN, Romans 6:2. The Holy Spirit is the seed in us that 1 John 3:9 speaks of. We cannot obey on our own, and why, as you say, the Holy Spirit is essential.

Yes! I love the items you pointed out. This video is one of 3 video series on the Gospel. While this video only sought to define and explain the Gospel message, I am looking forward to putting out 2 more videos on this topic: what is the correct response to the gospel, and what is gospel identity.

Many blessings!
Dusty

well to title it " the essentials of the Gospel "
a thing that is absolutely necessary.
"we only had the bare essentials in the way of equipment"
synonyms: necessity, necessary/essential item, prerequisite, requisite, requirement, need;etc..."

i mean the word Gospel means good news, the good news of Jesus to be precise . and the essentials of that message must at all times contain the main elements of the message being Christ become flesh , sacrificed on the cross ,risen again leaving instructions to repent be baptized and receive the holy Spirit to go on and live in obedience ...

seeing that this is the single most important message to mankind since the creation of man kind which has been entrusted to us .i would not want to leave any of its main aspects out . :)

why or how how people ignore the obedience of faith and faith which is obedience is astounding.
In regards to Romans 1:5, although Paul can speak of people’s initial response of choosing to believe the gospel as an act of obedience, in which he describes it as "obeying the gospel" (Romans 10:16; 1:16), the purpose of Paul’s apostleship was not merely to bring people to conversion but also to bring about transformed lives that were obedient to God.

*Notice that Paul said they HAVE (already) received grace and apostleship FOR/UNTO obedience to the faith. Just as in Ephesians 2:10, Paul said that we are created in Christ Jesus FOR/UNTO good works. We are clearly saved FOR good works, NOT BY good works (Ephesians 2:8-10). Paul did not say that they did not receive grace and apostleship until they produced obedience afterwards. We have access by faith into grace.. Romans 5:2 not faith "and obedience/works." We are saved through faith in Christ first, then "unto" obedience/works.

ephesians ch 2 ...saved by grace THROUGH faith. through the action you take because you believe and because you believe you Act and obey JESUS.
We are saved the moment that we place our faith (belief, trust, reliance) in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. We are not saved based on the merits of our obedience/works which follow. Faith is believing, trusting, relying and obedience which follows is WORKS and we are not saved by works (Romans 4:5-6; Ephesians 2:8,9; Titus 3:5; 2 Timothy 1:9 etc..).

if you don't it means NOTHING that you say you believe. John the Baptiser made it as clear as it could possibly be to believe is to obey. obedience is actioned.

quote "The Father loves the Son and has given all things into his hand.Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him."-end quote.

plain and simple
In John 3:36, "He that BELIEVES in the Son has everlasting life". *Notice that this BELIEF is not in yourself or in good works. Notice also that this BELIEF is not in Jesus Christ "plus something else," otherwise the BELIEF (trust, reliance) would not be "IN THE SON".

In regards to "does not obey the Son" in the New American Standard translation of the Bible, this does not mean that receiving eternal life is received based on the merits of our obedience/works which follows believing in the Son, but obey by choosing to believe in the Son. If John wanted to make obedience the central theme in salvation here, he would have said: "He who believes and obeys the Son has eternal life," but that is not what John said. To obey the Son here is to choose to believe in the Son.

The King James Version renders this same verse as: He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that "believeth not the Son" shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. The NIV says - "rejects the Son" and the CSB says - the one who refuses to believe in the Son.

The Greek word translated as "believeth not" in that verse is apeitheo and it means: "not believe, disobedient, obey not, unbelieving." Strong’s definition of apeitheo is "to disbelieve willfully and perversely." In the context of 3:36, to not obey the Son means to reject Him by refusing to believe in the Son.

The Gospel is the "good news" of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ (1 Corinthians 15:1-4) and is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that BELIEVES.. (Romans 1:16). To “believe” the Gospel is to trust in the death, burial and resurrection of Christ as the ALL-sufficient means of our salvation.

The Gospel is not a set of rituals to perform, a code of laws to be obeyed or a check list of good works to accomplish as a prerequisite for salvation.

i agree
yup
but the "moment " we put our belief in Jesus faith (an action) .. comes forth because in the moment we do that we have decided to DO as JESUS says .
there is no neutral floating inactive state we are being saved from to go into another floating neutral inactive state . rather we saved from DOING works of sin -unto doing works of righteousness.

So for all the wrangling around the words and terminologies ,If a person is not obediently increasing in DOING what the lord Jesus says to do .. they are not yest saved because they have not passed from one to the other yet .. they have not yet entered in through the straight gate .

This... is the Gospel... by which you are saved:

1 Corinthians 15 New King James Version (NKJV)
1 Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand,
2 by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.
3 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,
4 and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures,

I declare to you the gospel...
by which also you are saved...
first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,
and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures,

Thank you Alithis!
I suppose I proceed from the understanding that people who are not born again are completely incapable of repenting from sin. Therefore I do not see pre-new birth repentance as possible and is not a requirement. You should be sorry for your sinful nature... but at the same time realize you are hopelessly lost. After all, if a person could repent from all sin before they were saved... that would be an indicator that they were not actually lost and did not even need to be saved.
In the book of Acts, references to repentance (which were spoken to the Jews) should be understood in the context of repenting from rejecting Jesus and crucifying Him. For instance, Peter on the day of Pentecost:

Acts 2:
36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
37 Now when they heard [this], they were pricked in their heart, and said to Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men, brethren, what shall we do?
38 Then Peter said to them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ, for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Essentially this was not a call to repent from sin before they believed. This was a call to repent from what they did with Jesus. They crucified Him. And the answer was to repent of that act of rejection and accept Him as both Lord and Christ.

Another good example is Heb 6:1-3
1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on to perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith towards God,
2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of the resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
3 And this will we do, if God permit.

Here Paul refers to the foundation, baby, milk doctrine of "repentance from dead works."
This is not "repentance from sin." This is almost the exact opposite. They were to repent of trying to please God by obeying the dead works of the law.

The whole purpose of the law was to show by experience in each person's life that they were in fact sinners, hopeless, and in need of a savior:

Romans 3:
19 Now we know that whatever things the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.
20 Therefore by the deeds of the law, there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law [is] the knowledge of sin.

Clearly this states the purpose and the goal of the law. It is to simply prove to the unbeliever by experience that they are lost and need a savior. So in context, if a person could repent before belief it would say we do not actually need salvation. We can do it ourselves.
So I question the many preachers and teachers who teach contrary to this. They tell people they have to repent before they believe.... which clearly the scriptures say they cannot. And my wonder is this: How many lost souls hear their preaching and when they fail at repenting from sin before believing, forsake the gospel altogether thinking they are beyond hope and rejected by God... when what they should do is what Paul says believe.
Once born again, they then have the tools and the ability to repent from sin. Prior to that they are evil trees that cannot put forth good fruit.
Baptism is the outward expression of the inward belief and transformation. The baptism into Christ which is carried out by God in the life of each believer when they are saved.

The apostles preached repentance unchanged to ALL .they never ever deviated from the gospel message in acts no matter who they preached to.
All men everywhere must repent..

But such changed theoogies are spouted by those who dont bare fruit.. They just bare forth theoligical theories.

I also saw no real lasting fruit.

Then we repented and returned and preached the Same message as in acts.
And God gave signs and wonders and we are seein people reoenting being baptised and reciecibg the holy spirit all the time now. As well as devils cast out and healings...
What changed.. We went back and preached he same Gospel the apostles preached.

it does say what it says - but it does not say they are the 4 essentials .. it wouldnt either . because the gospel is BOTH what god has one for us in Christ and How we are to respond to him because of that .. leave any part out and we fail to preach the gospel faithfully

theological theories soon fall on the ground when you preach the gospel and see no fruit .. so you ask the lord what am i doing wrong and he shows you -then you do as he shows you and he never changed his instructions..
so we repent and then do what he says to do
and wow we see fruit ... and that holds far more weight then ANY theological theory

"I declare to you the gospel..."
"by which you are saved..."
"if you keep in memory..."
"first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,"
"and that He was buried,"
"and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures..."

Not sure how that can be anything other than what it says. Nothing less... nothing more.
You keep this in memory... you are saved.
