wishing you had a child like faith
But instead you were born a know it all
Praying you would be saved
Just to wake up to a fall.
With fear overwhelming, and pain deep inside, you use unbelief as a way to numb the pain
Your worst fear is to die, but if you have Christ to die is gain.
All this and you start to wonder why you were born what is your purpose if you were to be damned?
Makes you question god and his existence and whether there is a son of man.
Alas my doubts take over is there still time to be saved?
The answer will always be unknown.
To end off this poem on a short note I will tell you what I know.
Regardless of my consequences and my sins.
My God is still a god of love, he has always been.
He is a mystery but he loves like no other,
Sending his son our savior and a brother.
Even if my doubts take over never will I not say,
That Jesus is lord forever,
He is still the same today.

Well, I don't know what's worse, being born a "know-it-all," or being born a "know nothing." Either way, it's hard. ;) [edit: I moved the winky to the correct spot...]

Good poem. I enjoyed it, LCTM.

Peace,

When I say know it all I meant someone who wants and needs facts, the opposite of child like faith, someone who wants to find out whether it's true or not instead of just leaning

Yes, I know that is what you meant. I was being tongue-in-cheek with my first reply. I should have put a winking emoticon at the end of "Either way, it's hard," to indicate that I'm making a further (slightly humorous) implication up and beyond the intent of your poem. But being that we are writing in the virtual world, my intent is virtually lost. Sorry for my lack of clarity.

I like your poem. :)

Seeing that you fear the word of God without knowing who he is. I will help you. My instruction to you is this, listen to the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John in the King James Bible. When you fear God through fearing Jesus by any of those books, you have heard the word of God through the gospel, this is the beginning of the knowledge of God who is Jesus. As it is written, the fear of the Lord Jesus is the beginning of the knowledge of God:
And through this fear cry out to Jesus acknowledging you are worthy for damnation and humbly ask for mercy in the day of judgement. If you fear him he will answer you: and the gift he will give you you will know it's from him and he will assure your heart that you are his forever.

Isaiah 66:2 King James Version (KJV)
2 For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the Lord: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.

Since the fall we all have experience with deceit but usually still make the decision to follow after the knowledge of good and evil rather than obediently taking God at His word (especially when that word has been made known to us.) A dangerous choice that needs to be balanced with wisdom.

But that’s what makes us human in continually testing boundaries. The image of the creator in being one who can create, we are continually testing new ideas.

To keep from mistakes one has to use judgement by not entering into something with out careful consideration, especially if a direct knowledge from God has been given.

Those with second hand knowledge should be those who question and consider the most rather than do without thinking or arguing. While those most blameworthy are those who know first hand from God and do not.

The quest for knowledge should go hand-in-hand with careful judgement.

....
What is the gauge that you use to measure unbelief against? That could explain your belief of who God is. Those who measure God by not focusing on Christ have a very clouded vision.

ETA Seeing more of who Christ is is usually considered trustworthy of informing oneself of standing in truth.
