When I said "what I need jesus for?" I basically was rejecting him and thats when my life went wrong. So God will not forgive me for this? It depresses me and makes me sad because I noticed the drastic change in my life. I'm so sad and depressed. I am condemned?

I'm scared and sad to mention that I also said something against the holy spirit but it was done out of ignorance. I told a friend down the street from me about that vision/dream of that bright light burning me and she told me "that was the holy spirit. I've been praying all my life for that to happen to me." and then I said "I dont think that was the holy spirit" and she said she thought that it was the holy spirit. And then I stupidly said "Well I don't want it. I dont want it" because it scared me. I asked another elder friend of mine about it and she said "the holy spirit won't scare you like that. And that the other lady didn't know what she was talking about" so I am confused. When I said "I dont want it. I don't want it." I feel that was blasphemy but I didn't know that at the time it was all done out of ignorance. And when I had that bright light it really wasn't a dream it was like an out of body experience. Weirdly I went to the psychiatrist a few days ago and he said that "Theres so many fake christians out there". Then he said that my brain is not making blood and I need him to make blood for me. When he brought the word blood up it made me think of jesus shedding his precious blood and by me rejecting him that must mean that now my blood has no life in it because of what I said. Then I started having nightmares. I had a dream of these people they sounded so evil they said "The girl who was reborn of righteousness" and in the dream I was in a dark forest. It scared me. Also my mom has been hearing sounds of peoples voices that sound like they were in agony. My dad and brother heard it too. I feel like we're in some sort of dark world.

As long as you are repentant you cannot commit the unpardonable sin. There are two ways to look at the verse you are speaking of. That blaspheming the Holy Spirit is attributing the works of the Spirit to Satan. Or that rejecting the Holy Spirit consistently is blaspheming. I believe it is the latter, and the reason it is unpardonable is because if you resist the Holy Spirit then you risk losing your salvation. But as soon as you repent then you haven't actually committed the unpardonable sin because you haven't completely resisted the voice of the Holy Spirit telling you to repent. Get it? I think you forget the main thing God is is forgiveness. He wants us to be with him, and it is only by our own rejection of him that he is forced to send us elsewhere. God respects our free will so much that he has prepared a place for those who have rejected him in life, so they don't have to be near him in death. The Bible speaks of eternal fire after the great judgement for Satan and his angels. But for believers I think the burning is actually the burning agony of permanent spiritual separation from God. You clearly do not want to be separated from him, and therefore will not be as long as you keep your faith alive.

I believe that the unpardonable sin involves a hardening of the heart over time as the Holy Spirit convicts a person to accept the free gift of salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, but they refuse. You obviously have not done this! What I see is a lot of fear in your life, and Jesus came to set the captives free!

Years ago as a new Christian I dealt with a lot of anxiety and fear. My biggest fear was that I wasn't saved. But I was saved!!! This fear was so strong that it crippled me at times. My pastor's wife gave me a copy of the Warfare Prayer by Victor Matthews. I prayed through it EVERY time I felt anxiety or fear--many times a day. I didn't see immediate relief from all fear, but that was a turning point for me. Gradually, as I prayed the prayer, which is based on the Bible, I was set free from that stronghold of fear.

I'm not saying that your experience will be exactly like mine, but I know that He can set you free too! Here's a link to the prayer:
http://www.evanwiggs.com/revival/prinpray/warfare.html

I pray that God's truth will transform your mind and that this spirit of fear will be defeated in your life!

Thanks for replying because this has really been tearing me up for the longest. That is the absolute worst sin to commit!! I remember a scripture saying that it is the goodness of God that leads us to repentance. I have repented everyday. I am in soooo much agony because of this. The devil wanted to destroy my relationship with God. He kept putting these thoughts and lies in my head. Also, another scripture that gives me hope is 1 timothy 1:13 “Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.” and I was doing it in ignorance because I did not know what I was talking about and the thoughts that were coming to mind were leading me into saying things that I don't really mean in my heart. I love God's holy spirit!! I am thankful for His spirit, what would we be without Him? But I keep getting this thought telling me that it's over for me and that hurts my heart. But I don't know what it is, in spite of all of this I still have faith in God and I know He will make a way!

Thanks you <3 I am still hurting, and I feel like I'm in a dark place, I keep worrying if I've committed the unpardonable sin. I know that they say God uses what the enemy made for bad and use it for your good, but I don't know what good could possibly come out of this. But when I think of what Paul went through my faith comes back.

 We will find ourselves in dark places, at times. They are not permanent, dear heart, but just "passing through" places as we journey on, with our shepherd, close, right ahead of us leading the way.

In all the uncertainty, we can still hold on real tight to His promises, even if He seems far away. He's not far at all during those times. It just seems that He is.

You CLEAVE to His promises. He WILL see you through those uncertain times as He CONTINUES leading you as the GOOD Shepherd that He is.

Praying for you sister (((hug)))

1. Here is a link plus a couple of short articles from two different theology books that might by helpful.

https://www.gotquestions.org/blasphemy-Holy-Spirit.html (you can read and/or watch this short presentation from the folks at "Got Questions").

///////////////////////////////////////////////

2. Here is a short article is from the book Essential Truths of the Christian Faith by Dr. R C Sproul.

That the Bible describes one sin as “unforgiveable” sparks fear in the hearts of those who worry that perhaps they have committed it. Although the gospel freely offers forgiveness to all who repent of their sins, there is a limit reached at the door of this one crime. The unforgiveable or unpardonable sin of which Jesus warned is identified as blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. Jesus declared that this sin cannot be forgiven either in the present or in the future:

Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men. Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come. (Matthew 12:31-32)
Various attempts have been made to identify the specific crime that is unforgiveable. It has been assigned to such grievous crimes as murder or adultery. However, though both of these sins are clearly heinous sins against God, the Scripture makes it clear that they may be forgiven if earnest repentance is made. David, for example, was guilty of both of them, yet he was restored to grace.

Frequently the unforgiveable sin is identified with persistent and final unbelief in Christ. Since death brings the end of a person’s opportunity to repent of sin and embrace Christ, the finality of unbelief brings the consequence of the termination of hope of forgiveness.

Though persistent and final unbelief does bring about such consequences it does not adequately explain Jesus’ warning concerning blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. Blasphemy is something one does with the mouth or the pen. It involves words.

Though any form of blasphemy is a serious assault on the character of God, it is usually regarded as forgiveable. When Jesus warned of the unforgiveable sin, it was in the context of His accusers declaring that He was in league with Satan. His warning was sober and frightening. Yet, on the cross Jesus prayed for the forgiveness of those who blasphemed against Him on the grounds of their ignorance, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do” (Luke 23:34).

If, however, people are enlightened by the Holy Spirit to the degree that they know Jesus is truly the Christ, and then they accuse Him of being satanic, they have committed a sin for which there is no pardon. Christians left to their own devices are capable of committing the unpardonable sin, but we are confident that God in His preserving grace will restrain His elect from ever committing such a sin. When earnest Christians are fearful that perhaps they have actually committed this sin, it is probably an indication that they haven’t. Those who do commit such a sin would be so hardened of heart and abandoned in their sin as to feel no remorse for it.

Even in a pagan, secularized culture like our own, people seem to be reluctant to go too far in their blasphemy against God and Christ. Though the name of Christ is dragged through the mud as a common curse word and the gospel is ridiculed by irreverent jokes and comments, people still seem constrained to avoid linking Jesus with Satan.

Though the occult and Satanism provide a context of perilous danger for the commission of the unpardonable sin, if radical blasphemy occurs here it may still be forgiven because it is committed in ignorance by those unenlightened by the Holy Spirit.

Summary

1. Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is not to be equated with murder or adultery.
2. Blasphemy is an offense against God involving words.
3. Christ’s original warning was against attributing the works of God the Holy Spirit to Satan.
4. Jesus prayed for the forgiveness of blasphemers who were ignorant of His true identity.
5. Christians will never commit this sin because of the restraining grace of God.

Biblical passages for reflection:

Matthew 12:22-32
Luke 23:34
1 John 5:16

~Sproul, R. C. (1992). Essential truths of the Christian faith.

3. And from Dr. J I Packer's Concise Theology we have:

UNPARDONABLE SIN

ONLY IMPENITENCE CANNOT BE FORGIVEN
I tell you the truth, all the sins and blasphemies of men will be forgiven them.
But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; he is guilty of an eternal sin.

MARK 3:28–29

When Jesus warned the Pharisees that blasphemy against the Holy Spirit was unpardonable both in this world and in the next (Matt. 12:32; Mark 3:29–30), it was because they were saying that he exorcised demons by being in league with Satan (Beelzebub). His warning revealed his view of their spiritual state.

He could, and later did, pray for the forgiveness of those whose blasphemy against himself was the fruit of ignorance: “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing” (Luke 23:34). But that was not how he saw the Pharisees.

It is possible for people to be enlightened to the point of knowing inwardly that Jesus is the divine Savior he claims to be, and still not be willing to admit it publicly, because of all the behavioral changes that such an admission would make necessary. It is possible to try to make oneself feel good about one’s own moral dishonesty by inventing reasons, no matter how absurd, for not treating Jesus as worthy of one’s allegiance. Jesus evidently perceived that in calling him Satan’s servant the Pharisees were doing exactly that. They were not ignorant; they were stifling conviction and smothering real if unwelcome knowledge; they were resolutely shutting their eyes to the light and callousing their conscience by calling it darkness. The madness that Jesus exposed in what they were saying (Matt. 12:25–28) was an index of the pressure of conviction that they were feeling; irrational reasoning is a regular sign of conviction being resisted.

By attributing exorcisms wrought through the Holy Spirit (Matt. 12:28) to Satanic power, the Pharisees were blaspheming (speaking impiously) against the Spirit. Such a sin would become unforgivable when the conscience had been so calloused by calling good evil that all sense of the moral glory of Jesus’ mighty works (which were in a real sense his credentials: Matt. 11:2–6; John 10:38; 14:11) was destroyed. This hardening of heart against Jesus would preclude any remorse at any stage for having thus blasphemed. But nonexistence of remorse makes repentance impossible, and nonexistence of repentance makes forgiveness impossible.

Callousing one’s conscience by dishonest reasonings so as to justify denial of God’s power in Christ and rejection of his claims upon one is, then, the formula of the unpardonable sin. Another version of it, this time in professed Christians who fall away from Christ, is described in Hebrews 6:4-8. Christians who fear that they may have committed the unpardonable sin show by their very anxiety that they have not done so. Persons who have committed it are unremorseful and unconcerned; indeed, they are ordinarily unaware of what they have done and to what fate they have sentenced themselves. Jesus saw that the Pharisees were getting close to committing this sin, and he spoke as he did in hope of holding them back from fully lapsing into it.

Thank you for sharing this with me. I've been trying to stay strong, because this has really been tearing me up. I just want to say God bless you, and I am so thankful for God's love. He is so caring, and really wantsthe best for us. My heart has been really heavy with guilt, shame and i feel afraid at moments, but then i think about how God didn't give us the spirit of fear and so i make myself snap out of it. I feellike I'm a dark story book and I just would love for some reassurance that everything is okay! I'm hurt for doubting God, for not trusting in Him like i should have. Something keep telling me "it's too late for you". I think about my ignorance and i would love the Lord to know that i don't mean anything that i said against Him deep inside my heart. He is so strong and He does all he can for us. I am thankful for His spirit, thankful for Him, thankful for what He's done!! He has helped me so much. No therapist/psychiatrist could ever do for me what He has done. He has helped me more than anyone I ever knew. Yet despite everything, something keeps telling me it's too late for me, it's this little voice telling me that it's over for me and mutt heart is hurting. When i was saying all of those crazy things, i didn't even know what i was saying. Just very ignorant. I just want God to know that I love Him and I wish He could give me a big hug right now and i could just cry in His lap cause i feel alone. Why do i have to be tested on this? Why me?

You do need help; this is just the devil's lies - I have been down this road and now I am on my way back with the Lord; I can help you; i probably have been were you are but 10x worse and Gods Grace brought me back; and He will bring you back too. Keep seeking; don't give up. Email me at rev12.11@aol.com; God brought me through it; and I have some very helpful things that i cant just say in a few paragraphs that will dramatically help you get past this. Better days are ahead of you; you will be stronger than ever! God Bless.

Here is a study I did on Ezekiel - Please let the Holy Spirit use it to minister to you; to help you see God is for your not against you.

The book of Ezekiel is arguably one of the most terrifying books about God’s judgement. God goes into great detail about how He is going to destroy them, He leaves nothing to the imagination of those that He is going to destroy, if they don't repent.

These people were God’s people, they were sinning willfully, with no shame; they new the 10 commandments, but they could care less about them. The basically spit in the face of God with no second thoughts.

Read this part of Ezekiel to see what kind of children God was dealing with.

“Now this message came to me from the Lord: “Son of man, are you ready to judge Jerusalem? Are you ready to judge this city of murderers? Publicly denounce her detestable sins, and give her this message from the Sovereign Lord: O city of murderers, doomed and damned—city of idols, filthy and foul— you are guilty because of the blood you have shed. You are defiled because of the idols you have made. Your day of destruction has come! You have reached the end of your years. I will make you an object of mockery throughout the world. O infamous city, filled with confusion, you will be mocked by people far and near. “Every leader in Israel who lives within your walls is bent on murder. Fathers and mothers are treated with contempt. Foreigners are forced to pay for protection. Orphans and widows are wronged and oppressed among you. You despise my holy things and violate my Sabbath days of rest. People accuse others falsely and send them to their death. You are filled with idol worshipers and people who do obscene things. Men sleep with their fathers’ wives and force themselves on women who are menstruating. Within your walls live men who commit adultery with their neighbors’ wives, who defile their daughters-in-law, or who rape their own sisters. There are hired murderers, loan racketeers, and extortioners everywhere. They never even think of me and my commands, says the Sovereign Lord.”
‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭22:1-12‬ ‭NLT‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

In reality they could make the worst Christian look like a saint, and this was God’s chosen nation!

But if you read the book of Ezekiel, you will quickly see starting from the beginning of the book and throughout, God was only threatening to bring such disaster to try to break through to their unmovable, calloused, Stoney heart; and cause them to repent.

These people were as hard as stone to God, and such a impending disaster is the only thing that may cause them to repent. His ultimate purpose for such a warning because He wanted to save them from hell. Such a warning was given out of love, otherwise why give them a warning at all.

Read (below) some of the verses woven into the book of Ezekiel. All these verses tell the same thing, God brings warnings to people not to destroy them, but so they would repent.

“But if you do warn the righteous not to sin, and they don’t sin, they will be declared righteous. Their lives will be preserved because they heeded the warning, and you will save your life.”
‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭3:21‬ ‭CEB‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

“But if wicked people turn away from all their sins and begin to obey my decrees and do what is just and right, they will surely live and not die. All their past sins will be forgotten, and they will live because of the righteous things they have done. “Do you think that I like to see wicked people die? says the Sovereign Lord. Of course not! I want them to turn from their wicked ways and live. However, if righteous people turn from their righteous behavior and start doing sinful things and act like other sinners, should they be allowed to live? No, of course not! All their righteous acts will be forgotten, and they will die for their sins. “Yet you say, ‘The Lord isn’t doing what’s right!’ Listen to me, O people of Israel. Am I the one not doing what’s right, or is it you? When righteous people turn from their righteous behavior and start doing sinful things, they will die for it. Yes, they will die because of their sinful deeds. And if wicked people turn from their wickedness, obey the law, and do what is just and right, they will save their lives. They will live because they thought it over and decided to turn from their sins. Such people will not die. And yet the people of Israel keep saying, ‘The Lord isn’t doing what’s right!’ O people of Israel, it is you who are not doing what’s right, not I. “Therefore, I will judge each of you, O people of Israel, according to your actions, says the Sovereign Lord. Repent, and turn from your sins. Don’t let them destroy you! Put all your rebellion behind you, and find yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. For why should you die, O people of Israel? I don’t want you to die, says the Sovereign Lord. Turn back and live!”
‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭18:21-32‬ ‭NLT‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

“Son of man, give the people of Israel this message: You are saying, ‘Our sins are heavy upon us; we are wasting away! How can we survive?’ As surely as I live, says the Sovereign Lord, I take no pleasure in the death of wicked people. I only want them to turn from their wicked ways so they can live. Turn! Turn from your wickedness, O people of Israel! Why should you die? “Son of man, give your people this message: The righteous behavior of righteous people will not save them if they turn to sin, nor will the wicked behavior of wicked people destroy them if they repent and turn from their sins. When I tell righteous people that they will live, but then they sin, expecting their past righteousness to save them, then none of their righteous acts will be remembered. I will destroy them for their sins. And suppose I tell some wicked people that they will surely die, but then they turn from their sins and do what is just and right. For instance, they might give back a debtor’s security, return what they have stolen, and obey my life-giving laws, no longer doing what is evil. If they do this, then they will surely live and not die. None of their past sins will be brought up again, for they have done what is just and right, and they will surely live. “Your people are saying, ‘The Lord isn’t doing what’s right,’ but it is they who are not doing what’s right. For again I say, when righteous people turn away from their righteous behavior and turn to evil, they will die. But if wicked people turn from their wickedness and do what is just and right, they will live.”
‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭33:10-19‬ ‭NLT‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

Did a something cause you to repent? (repent basically means to think differently about sin, which then leads to a different lifestyle) – if so, its because God worked that out in your life to bring you to repentance.

Remember, no one seeks God; we all have gone astray. We only come to Jesus and repent because the Holy Spirit is drawing us to Him.

Also, this story is not an isolated instance; I could probably show you 30 or 40 other examples where God acted the same way. Actually I can not think of even One instance were someone truly repented and turned their life back to God, trusting in only His Mercy and Forgiveness who did not receive pardon. It is in God's Nature to Forgive!

Something caused me to repent because I don't want to be against God. I don't want to be against Jesus. Recently while i was sleep it sounded like my parents trying to wake me up, but they couldn't. I could hear my mother tapping me and calling my name and thenmy dad and then i heard them like they were in great distress. I could actually feel them tapping me and then i woke up. This just recently happened and it scared me because i worried that it could have been a spiritual thing. I had blasphemous thoughts and something was really against Jesus. I couldn't understand it and i didn't know why i kept having those thoughts. But the fear kept coming and it would make me think things but i know now that those aren't my thoughts. I am being attacked by the enemy. I have since fully accepted Jesus into my heart as my Lord and Savior but something keeps telling me "it's too late now. You did what you did." My story is terrible and i never understood why these things happened to me. I don't want to be wicked but it seems as if every time i try to be good and do good i get punished and crazy stuff happens to me. I'll say "I'll read the bible to look for some good scriptures to uplift me and then i keep finding things about the wicked and punishment and death and it scared me." I know God is love and i want these blasphemous thoughts gone, but I keep getting the thought of "it's too late for you" i think of all those strange things happening to me. It just felt like my life is a nightmare. Jesus did the sweetest thing ever and it just tears me up. I want to rest in God's love. I keep feeling that I've failed God. The thoughts love to attack God and tries to make me fear Jesus which is crazy. God is love and there's nothing i can do it's all in Gods hands. I just want my family to be saved and i want to be with God forever. An i not under God's grace? This has been hurting me for so long. Terrible pain.

Also i forgot to mention that as a child i believed in Jesus and then my dad came along one day and said jesus wasn't real and that shocked me as a kid. He started telling me how we were Egyptians. Stuff like that. There's nothing i can really do. I worry at night fearing hell. If i am wicked then i don't want to be. I want the grace of God and I want JESUS in my life. The devil has really tried to ruin my life. How did you overcome what you went through?

Thank you. What do i do? Based on that scripture you read are you saying we are not under Gods grace? That we have to save ourselves? Excuse me if i an misunderstanding, but I'm kind of confused. I want God's holy Spirit in my life and i want a personal relationship with Him and i knew the devil is working hard to ruin my life and my chances of being with Him.

what NO, i didn't say that - We ARE under Gods Grace; and we DON'T have to save ourselves; Jesus did that for us. What did I say that made you think that; if i did type that it was a horrible typo that I need to fix or you read it wrong:)

And the Holy Spirit already is in your life; because you Believed in Jesus; that is proof - nobody can come to Jesus believing that He is the Christ and Died buried and rose again for our payment for our sins EXCEPT by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Thank you. So i should not worry? Just trust and believe? I noticed a thing about me is that i will allow myself to imagine bad things and God doesn't like that. I think God has sent me a warning. I'm so thankful for what God has done for me!!!! What is that scripture that says "once you have gotten out of the yoke of bondage or something like that?"
