Isaiah 61:2 mentions the "day of vengeance" of our God:

Isaiah 61:2 [Luke 4:19]
To proclaim the year of the good pleasure of Yahweh,
And the day of vengeance<5359> of our 'Elohim, To comfort all mourners
.

5359 naqam naw-kawm' from 5358; revenge:--+ avenged, quarrel, vengeance.

Here Luke quotes from Isaiah 61, but leaves out "day of vengeance"

Luke 4:
19 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.’
21And He began to say unto them — ‘To-day hath this writing been fulfilled in your ears;’

Luke 21 mentions "days of vengeance" in this Olivet Discourse verse and from what I can see, Luke is the only Gospel writer to mention vengeance.
[It is also mentioned a few times in Revelation showing how much the Gospel of Luke is tied to Revelation.] Pretty fascinating...

Luke 21:

20 ‘And when ye may see Jerusalem surrounded by encampments, then know that come nigh did her desolation; 21 then those in Judea, let them flee to the mountains; and those in her midst, let them depart out; and those in the countries, let them not come in to her;
22 for these are days of vengeance<1557>, to fulfill all things having been written.

1557. ekdikesis
from 1556;
vindication, retribution:--(a-, re-)venge(-ance), punishment.
1556. ekdikeo ek-dik-eh'-o from 1558; to vindicate, retaliate, punish:--a (re-)venge.

#1557 is used only 3 times in the Gospels, all in Luke

Luke 18:[Revelation 4:8 Revelation 7:15 "day and night" Revelation 6:10 "how long......."]

7 And shall not God execute the avenging<1557> of His elect, the ones crying out to Him day and night, and be deferring in regard to them?
8 I say to you that He will execute their avenging<1557> in quickness. Nevertheless, the Son of Man having come, will He find faith on the earth?”

2 Thessalonians 1:8
In flaming fire taking vengeance<1557> on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:

The other form of the word "vengeance" is also used only in Luke of the Gospels:

Luke 18:
3 And there was a widow in that city, and she was coming to him, saying, ‘Avenge<1556> me of my adversary.’
5 yet because this widow causes me trouble, I will avenge<1556> her, so that in the end she does not exhaust me, coming to me.
’”

And by Paul:

Romans 12:19
Dearly beloved, avenge<1556> not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath:
for it is written, vengeance<1557> is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord
.

Used 2 times in Revelation:

Revelation 6:10
And they cried with a loud voice, saying, "How long, Owner/Master, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge<1556> our blood on them that dwell on the earth?"
Revelation 19:2
“For true and righteous are His judgments, because He has judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her fornication;
and He has avenged<1556> on her the blood of His servants shed by her
.”

The LXX has ἡμέραν ἀνταποδόσεως, which can be translated as day of recompense. Either way, the primary meaning is that the Lord avenged (and avenges) us for the damage the noetic locust (Joel 2:25-32), I mean the Devil, caused (and causes) us.

Good post and thanks for bringing up that Greek word for "recompense".

2 καλέσαι ἐνιαυτὸν Κυρίου δεκτὸν καὶ ἡμέραν ἀνταποδόσεως τῷ Θεῷ ἡμῶν, παρακαλέσαι πάντας τοὺς πενθοῦντας,

That word is used in only 2 verses of the NT

Strong's Number G468 matches the Greek ἀνταπόδομα (antapodoma),
which occurs 2 times in 2 verses
468. antapodoma from 467;
a requital (properly, the thing):--recompense.

Luke 14:12
Then He also said to him who invited Him, “When you give a dinner or a supper, do not ask your friends, your brothers, your relatives, nor rich neighbors,
lest they also invite you back, and you be repaid/recompensed<468>
Romans 11:9
And David says:
“Let their table become a snare and a trap,
A stumbling block and a recompense<468> to them.

The Hebrew equivalent appears to be h8005

8005 shillem shil-lame' from 7999;
requital:--recompense.

Deuteronomy 32:
35 In the day of vengeance<5359> I will recompense<8005>, whensoever their foot shall be tripped up;
for the day of their destruction is near to them, and the judgments at hand are close upon you.

Everyone is written in the Book of life. Their name has to be blotted out. God does not want anyone to perish 2Peter3:9.

Luke 21:22

The main root word for #1557 is #1349 which appears to be a type of justice, either for evil/guilty or good/innocent.

1557. ek-dikesis
from 1556;
vindication, retribution:--(a-, re-)venge(-ance), punishment.
1537. ek ek or ex ex a primary preposition denoting origin (the point whence action or motion proceeds), from, out
1349. dike dee'-kay probably from 1166;
right (as self-evident), i.e. justice (the principle, a decision, or its execution):--judgment, punish, vengeance

1556. ekdikeo ek-dik-eh'-o from 1558; to vindicate, retaliate, punish:--a (re-)venge.
1558. ekdikos ek'-dik-os from 1537 and 1349; carrying justice out, i.e. a punisher:--a (re-)venger

#1349 is use 4 times in the NT, 2 of those in Acts concerning the trial of Paul by the "devil/satan" Judean rulers, and a viper attacking him from a campfire'

Act 25:
14 When they had been there many days, Festus laid Paul’s case before the king, saying: “There is a certain man left a prisoner by Felix,
15“about whom the chief priests and the elders of the Jews informed me, when I was in Jerusalem, asking for a judgment<1349> against him.
Act 28:4
So when the natives saw the creature hanging from his hand, they said to one another, “No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he has escaped the sea, yet justice<1349> does not allow to live.”

2 Thessalonians 1:9
whom justice<1349> shall be incurring, extermination age-during from face of the Lord and from the glory of the strength of Him.

Revelation 6:16
and said to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us! and hide us! from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb-kin!

Revelation 20:11
Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from Whose face the earth and the heaven fled away.

And there was found no place for them.

Jude 1:7
as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these,
having given themselves over to sexual immorality/prostituting and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the justice<1349> of age-abiding fire.

Sodom is also mentioned in Revelation in conjunction with OC 1st century Jerusalem/Judea:

Why Jerusalem is Mystically Called Sodom and Egypt
Why Jerusalem is Mystically Called Sodom and Egypt

Revelation 11:8
And their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great City which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our[fn] Lord was crucified.

Everyone? How did you decide such.
David talks about this: "May they be blotted out of the book of life and not be listed with the righteous." Psalm 69:28. This is the same word we see in Genesis 6:7 "So the LORD said, “I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, man and animals and creeping things and birds of the heavens, for I am sorry that I have made them.” There is some variation in spelling but the word blotted is used 36 times in the Bible.

It is used in 5 verses of the NT, including 3 in Revelation.....

Genesis 1:1 (NKJV)
1813. exaleipho from 1537 and 218;
to smear out, i.e. obliterate (erase tears, figuratively, pardon sin):--blot out, wipe away.
Strong's Number G1813 matches the Greek ἐξαλείφω (exaleiphō),which occurs 6 times in 5 verses

Colossians 2:14
Out-rubbing/blotting-out
<1813> (5660) the against of us handwriting the decrees that is against us, which was hostile to us, and it hath lifted/taken out of the midst, toward-nailing it to the Cross;

Revelation 21:4
And shall be out-rubbing/blotting-out/exaleiyei <1813> (5692), the God, every tear from their eyes and the death shall not be any-more.
Nor sorrow, nor crying, nor distress, not it shall be still, that the first-things pass away/aphlqon <565> (5627)
