U.S. citizens are very nationalistic and patriotic and would refuse to see that dirty politics and corruption that would exist, in the same way that we outside of the U.S. would see it. Us New Zealanders would have the same patriotic attitude toward our own politicians as well.

What does any of that have to do with your attempt to smear her reputation and her motives...?

As far as Mr Kavanaugh is concerned he is a universe away from any proof of guilt, other than an accusation where the woman doesn't know exactly when and where the alleged assault actually took place, and there are no corroborative witnesses. Actually the witnesses maintain that he was not present at all in the house at the same time she was. Any Court case would take exactly 2 minutes before the judge threw it out.

Ummmm...if the woman “doesn’t know exactly when and where”, how could the ‘witnesses’ know that he wasn’t at the house at the same time she was....??

Great legal strategy....”Your honour, I have absolutely no idea when and where my client was supposed to have committed the offence, but I can guarantee that he definitely was not there....errr, at that time...”

Sure to be a winner...!

Sometimes some aspects of American politics are more clearly seen from outside the country than from within it.

Sorry, but an appeal to conspiracy theory is not evidence of some special insight into American politics.

From the dirty politics that have occurred since the appointment of Donald Trump to the Presidency, then many outside of the U.S. would have those suspicions.

Trump wasn't appointed President.

They tried to do the same things to President Lincoln, but then that information may not have gotten into U.S. history books.

"They" who?

You know the Ed Whelan guy who floated the doppelganger nonsense also posted a blueprint of the alleged house? They have a lot of info for a party that either never happened or Brett never attended.

Another appeal to authority. What we understand is neither the Yale Law School bunch nor liberals at large are the least bit interested in the law or the truth. What they are interested in is having another never-ending investigation started utilized to block Kavanaugh's appointment on the grounds he can't be appointed while under investigation, and of course the investigation will never end.

We have already seen this, in the "Meuller Ain't Got Anything" probe.

Another simple fact that the faculty of top law school are more knowledgable about the law than the typical internet forum user.

Mueller's shown that's he got a lot, but isn't the subject of this thread.

I can understand her wanting to be confidential. This stuff does not go away. She is marked now for the rest of her life. Still I do not see how it is possible for her to be confidential. Ask people like tonya harding anita hill and monica lewinsky if they think her life will ever return to normal.

Dr. Ford already made her mark prior to this. Successful career. But yes Kavanaugh & Ford will both have this as part of their lives.

It's odd that while her name was still confidential, Kavanaugh's buddy was looking into her.

There was a guy a couple of tweets down that think they had some clue in advance. I agree. I think Brett told them. They had that letter with 65 women ready too soon, and was pushing his involvement with women even during the hearings. If I recall correctly, Diane didn't hand the letter over until the end or right before the end of the hearings.

Even w/o the Ford situation though, he is known to have lied under oath at his previous confirmation. He shouldn't be a judge at all at this point. His word about Roe vs Wade being settled law that he wouldn't try to change is a lie also, he wouldn't have been on the federalist's list if that were the case, but that is a lie conservatives want him to tell. They don't believe it for a second.

On twitter, Michael Avenatti hinted there may be more women to come forward about him and his friend judge. I hope they vet them carefully, there were fakes who tried to get wapo to take the bait regarding Roy Moore.

There was also another wapo story about his prep work:

‘Incredibly frustrated’: Inside the GOP effort to save Kavanaugh amid assault allegation

It is only a thought, and I have just as much evidence as the woman has to support her allegation.

It is not "Just a thought". It is slander based on nothing but your imagination. And no, you do not have equal evidence.

There should be a law against political allegations proceeding in the fashion that Diane Feinstein and the Democrats did with this allegation.

Feinstein truly needs to be censured by the Senate. This is not proper way for a serious political body proper to carry out serious claims against a judge no less.

The law profession denigrates itself as a kangaroo mob by jumping on the political bandwagon. They might be reminded that the F in FBI stands for federal and that means the juridiction of the FBI is limited to federal matters, separation of powers and all.
Of course they would know that. They are lawyers from an elite school of the Ivy league. Obviously, the law doesn't much matter to them, which is why judges like Kavanaugh are needed in the first place.

Legally after so much time has passed, and in the absence of any evidence whatsoever, the answer to whether a crime was potentially committed is unknowable. It is indeterminate and there is no chance that a criminal case can be made any longer, by any legal investigators.

In the court of public opinion however, the system of disclosure has been totally corrupted. It is yellow politics and yellow journalism that smears the name of a person on the basis of one single person's claim in the complete and total absence of any corroborating testimony.

No wonder nobody takes journalists or politicians seriously anymore. They have forfeited any claims to professionalism by abandoning any standards that would guide the industry into more responsible disclosures and discussions of information.

The problem is not with the lady who brought the charges forth against the judge. The potential emotional wreckage of sexually oriented assaults is normally quite devastating for a woman's psyche especially. Women need to be encouraged to speak up, if and when they finally do get their voice.

Professionals however need to deal with the facts presented rationally and dispassionately, critically discern the quality of the evidence being presented before disseminating totally unsubstantiated evidence to the public at large that can be ruinous to the reputations of people.

The truth to the allegation from Ford is unknown and likely unknowable. The probability of that changing is close to zero.

On the other hand, the motivation of Diane Feinstein and the Democrats and the legal thugs that are on their band wagon can be determined to be crass politics with a probability that approaches 100 %.

You mean "truth" like your suggestion that Anita Hill's career was greatly advanced by the Thomas hearings?

It was. She is a multi-millionaire and has her face plastered all over the news as some form of feminist icon. And the movies, of course.

As we all know, women who have made sexual assault allegations must live on a spartan diet of bread and water, wearing only sackcloth in the wilderness. If they are successful or make money in any way, that proves that they were just in it for the boku publicity and money to be made from dealing with death threats and accusations about their personal and professional lives.

In an open letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee, 50 faculty members of Yale Law School asked the members to give the FBI time to investigate

Amazing how little the faculty at Yale law school appears to know about the law.

Amazing how the same democrats who are demanding unending investigations of this matter have nothing to say about the much more serious charges against Keith Ellison who they would be completely content to have as attorney general of Minnesota.

Thus proving you have fallen for the appeal to authority.

Far too many read an article, see words such as "Yale Law School Professors," and immediately cease any and all application of thought. So they are Yale law, so what? The question here does not begin or end with the law.

The obvious question to ask while reading such an article is why. Why would a bunch of Yale law types issue such a statement? The answer to that question is far more representative of a political agenda than any other concern.

As we all know, women who have made sexual assault allegations...

What about women who make false sexual assault allegations?

Last I heard women were people too, meaning they can just as devious and amoral as anyone.

Does this testimony sound like a "devious and amoral" woman to you?
