From a video from Paul Washer which is an invitation to young men to a life of real sacrifice, power, unspeakable joy and full of glory.

...
You see all these young men blogging and fighting over theological nuances in a way that many of them haven't lived long enough to even know or to at least experience what it is they are talking about, and will sit there and will fill up with the internet with this kind of stuff when there is literally billions of people who have not heard the gospel. I mean it's, it's insane.

If your listening to this and your a young man, if your a young man this probably isn't your time to write a book to change the world or write a blog that gets hits from all over the planet. It's your time to prepare yourself to become a man of God. Not to be on the internet but to be alone with God in prayer until He pours out His Spirit on you and makes you a useful servant.

...
"If you know the Word really well, and you're just perfect in your thinking, and your logic is pristine, but you're not a man of prayer, you're not worth two cents in the Kingdom of Heaven. You're just not worth two cents in the Kingdom of Heaven. You'll be full of a lot of knowledge, and proud, and no power. No power."

-Paul Washer

Reminded me of:

... having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them. ... always learning but never able to acknowledge the truth. (2 Timothy 3:5, 7 1984 NIV)

There are opportunities for evangelism, learning and prophecy on the internet. There is a sacrifice of time in researching and forming good posts. Internet activity should complement a real world witness as a matter of integrity. That your virtual and physical presence must always be contradictory is highly debatable.

If they are suffering and risking their lives over the Internet, then that may be their calling. The modern mindset is that one must learn before being able to "do," but that is not the Biblical mindset. The Biblical mindset is "do" then the Holy Spirit will teach and transform you. That is the Biblical way that a person's faith grows. A person obeys, then sees God come through on his promises. There isn't this long period of wondering if God is real or if one is saved and studying Scripture to figure it all out. We don't need to obey to be saved, but we need to obey to receive God's many blessings. People wonder why they don't see supernatural healing or their prayers answer and such, and that is why. Isaiah 58:8 doesn't speak of what we must agree with for our healing to quickly appear. This describes the Lord for everyone:

Praise the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits— who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. (Psalms 103:2-5, 1984 NIV)

For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power. (1 Corinthians 4:20, 1984 NIV)

I understand the idea of preach what you practice. Even recently had on my the reverse which was said of Jesus online, that he practiced what he preached. He truly lived giving his life to God and people. Prayed to his heavenly father for his will to be done instead of his own, he had the disciples there with him though the spirit was willing their flesh was weak. But before that Jesus had the battle of wills when he was baptized receiving the spirit, lead in temptation against Satan who twisted God's word. (Matthew 4:1-4, Matthew 26:36-39, Matthew 26:40-44 {even repeats his prayer for them})

Personally we should always seek God learning about him regardless. But as a matter of humility we should first learn from others who've been there. Part of it includes patience I think to discern what's God's word and their opinion, though I agree people need experience to help their understanding. I guess it's the nuances as OP said that should be of less concern compared to the fundamentals. If we had a better understanding (knowledge and experience) of fundamentally being Christian, least we'd be capable of expressing this to others (fellowship or evangelism). But I think this is generally true for Christians, *points a finger at himself*, not limited to young men trying to know it all before ever actually doing much of it.
