That will be a change, and if they want even more novelty they could talk about abortion and gay marriage.

Texas is becoming a purple state. Ted Cruz is notoriously unlikeable. And that doesn't even count that he doesn't have the best interest of his constituents at heart.
There is something very kennedyesque about O'Rourke, even when he uses the diminutive of Roberto as his first name. When a Democrat wins the presidency in 2020 it will help Texas to have a Democratic senator in their corner

Beto is the better debater.
Beto speaks to the issues while Cruz rehashes Republican name calling and talking points.

Which is saying something because for all of Cruz' flaws, being a good debater has been one of his things since high school IIRC. I only watched a little bit, but from what I saw, I'd say they were pretty evenly matched.

Cruz' overuse of the furrowed brow kills me, though.
