I’ve had one question for God and I haven’t been sure if it’s God talking to me about the right answer or do I just hear my own thoughts and someone said to me I should ask for a sign.. so yesterday I asked that I would see a rainbow, hear cars horn and hear cars burglar alarm.. I saw in the clouds number two so I said okay God two of these signs is enough.. so I saw a rainbow (but it had already been raining) and I heard a car horn.. today I asked for the burglar alarm and I heard it! Do you think it’s God talking to me or did I just ask for to easy signs?

It's not unreasonable and sometimes expected that you might be unsure and so want to ask for another sign. Maybe rather than ask for a specific occurrence this time ask for something that would be meaningful only to you. " Lord would you show me something meaningful to me "? I can't make a suggestion of what He might reveal because only God could reveal this to you and I have no idea of your reason for the request nor of what His reply might be anyway.. IE don't put a condition on God, just ask for the sign that you would understand. I can suggest this to you, keep tuning in for his answers ! So many people converse with God one way and don't listen for his replies. It's often that still small voice in the back of your head that you hear from Him with. Read my signature below.

I have dreams and often they are more like visions, many of these have turned out to be an occurrence of a similar vein in real life. . I have to discern the ones more like visions to know where they are from. So I have been compiling verses for an intro I'm going to do next week for my pastor friend in his local cable tv broadcast. Last night before bed I spoke to God and asked him to affirm that what I have compiled thus far is aligned with Him and ok with Him and to just show me what He wants. My last dream this morning was of a great black bear and little white lamb drinking from a stream together inches away from one another. This might have no meaning to someone reading this, however it has great meaning to me and a portion from this will be included in my intro. PTL, He does answer us !

And incidentally, I don't know about you but I often see rain but I don't often see a rainbow. i'm 68 years old and in my lifetime I have seen maybe 6 or 8 out in the natural world ( in other words not lights set up to produce one at a fountain or some such thing).

I do believe that God speaks to us when we ask. I know of a pastor who asked God to see a shooting star if it is His will for him to go into ministry and he did. And then to be sure, he asked God to see two to confirm if that really was what God wants for him and He allowed him to see another shooting star at that moment. Though God doesn't always answer us in the way we want (through signs or whatever else) but sometimes He does. And if you feel like God is answering you through those specific signs, then go for it and see what happens. Pray about it for continued wisdom and guidance into His will for you

I’m asking him for a dream too.. I’ve had some hints in my dreams. I remember one was almost the same way asking for signs as I’ve done now but only in a dream..in the dream I was seeing three stars and I asked that the one I looked at will fall down if it’s God talking to me about the right answer, and the star fell down, then the scene changed and I was standing and I asked God to let a helicopter fly over my head if God has been talking to me, and then a helicopter flew over my head.. I don’t know if that dream was from God.

I’ve seen pretty many rainbows in my life but haven’t seen one in a pretty long time. And the rainbow was very big and bright.

MATTHEW.12: = The Scribes and Pharisees Ask for a Sign
38 Then some of the scribes and Pharisees answered, saying, “Teacher, we want to see a sign from You.”

39 But He answered and said to them, “An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. 40 For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

Well Susanna, as I said just keep tuning in. Let's pray God makes this crystal clear to you. Amen ?

Susanna, it's clear from your messages that you have a heart for God. If He hasn't answered you He most assuredly will. It's a matter of hearing and or seeing and discerning the answers. Again we have to stay tuned, we also have to protect our hearts.

I have been asking for a dream for a long time, did last night also but no answer.. I haven’t got a clear answer in my dreams yet. It’s frustrating.

We should not trust in any way our dreams because, man I have some wacky ones at times.

My wife the Saint who has read the Bible through out approximately 15 times does not trust in anyway her dreams. Neither does our Pastor or the ones in our church.

Best not to look for signs and wonders that are probably New Age junk.

I don't ask for dreams they just come. The ones that count are more like visions than a dream, very very real, vivid and in full color usually. And they play out in real life generally and within a reasonable time frame, like within two days.. The rest can probably be chocked up as just dreams. There are a couple I experienced in my lifetime that I hold on the back burner so to speak, undetermined origin , very detailed when I was very young but had to do with the end of my lifetime..

Signs and wonders are very tricky as has been mentioned, Satan can duplicate what you think might be from God and also our minds are capable of incredible stories. This does not negate that God can use dreams but it does include that we have to be careful in discerning them..

Careful the Bible says that the devil is roaming around wishing to devour us.

It's not good to test God.

M-Bob
I don't get how asking for a sign from God equals testing God. He tells us if we need wisdom and knowledge to ask Him. It doesn't mean we like the answer of course. We are to communicate with Him, there is always the chance of Satan getting into the mix. This is where discernment comes in . We shouldn't live paranoid lives afraid to ask God when we need clarity or understanding about something should we ? I think it is wise to make our requests to God in silent thought though. I was taught that God hears our thoughts, that while Satan can interject things into our minds, Satan can not hear our thoughts . But of course anyone could hear our vocalized requests. Also God is omnipresent and Satan is not, Satan has to send in his minions to get coverage, God hears every thought we have, good and bad. He also hears our healing thoughts for others.

Formal prayer not required, thoughts will do it and have done it, which is prayer in and of itself. In case no one has told you, Satan is a defeated doofus. He can only gain any kind of meaningful control over us if we let him. So don't let him. " Give no place to the devil" ( this means not to allow him a foot hold).
Ephesians 4:27 New King James Version (NKJV)

Can't say for sure but, we had better be careful. Especially when reaffirming what others are doing.

Friend, the Lord wants for you, above all, to put your faith in Him. This is how we are saved. It is through our faith in Christ! It is by laying hold of Jesus and His Word and refusing to let go. We all have our own cross to carry. But for everyone of us - the answer is the same. Draw close to the Lord Jesus. Believe! The more that Jesus becomes everything for us, the more that He increases in our hearts and spirit, the greater our victory becomes over doubt. I encourage you to stop looking for signs, and stand on the Rock - the Lord Jesus Christ.

My own testimony may help you.

Hebrews 11:6 reads, "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him."

I said earlier that we all have our own cross to carry. For me, my cross was related to the latter part of that verse. I would get so weighed down by fear and doubt that I would often times feel as though I were damned. My past sin haunted me, and I was so very fearful.

I, too, wanted a sign. And I was given a word from the Lord. But the true meaning didn't even become clear until years later, because I couldn't fully receive it. I could only see in part (1 Corinthians 13:9). And when I did finally receive it, years later, it was like scales falling from my eyes. I wept and wept. But the thing is, for a time, I was standing only on the fact that God was willing to speak to me as evidence of my salvation. Yes, I believed in Christ. Yet fear and doubt still persisted. Things like a word of faith (or signs) can be edifying to a degree, but there is something so much better than taking a gift or sign as proof of salvation. He that fear is not made perfect in love. But something which IS perfect will come, and it casts out fear. 1 John 4:18

But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. In other words, when completeness comes, that which is partial is no longer required. 1 Corinthians 13:10

How?

JESUS. He is EVERYTHING. JESUS. When people say "Jesus is the answer", that's not just a theological cliche. Lay hold on Jesus and never let go. Cry out for Him continually. Long to be where He is at always. It wasn't until I resolved that I would not be denied Jesus, even if I had to run through fire to reach Him, only then did love cast out fear. Because I know and love Jesus - but more importantly, because I know that He knows and loves me. My shield.
