Parable of the homicidal vineyards.
Matthew 21
"37 But last of all I've felt them are, saying, They will reverence my son." 38But when the husbandmen saw the are, they said among themselves, this is the heir, come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance 39 And they caught him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him. "

If the death of the Lord was written in the Old Testament y He knew what he has to face that. So, what do these verse "They will reverence my son" refer to?

Complete Parable:
There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and digged a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country: 34And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it. 35And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another. 36Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they did unto them likewise. 37But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son.
38But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance.
39And they caught him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him.
40When the lord therefore of the vineyard cometh, what will he do unto those husbandmen?
41They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons.
42Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes? 43Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.

What stands out for me is that they felt that killing Him would gain for them His inheritance. They won't have a chose but to reverence Him when every knee is made to bow.

Jesus was talking about how God through the ages has tried to bring the Jews back to being faithful to Him. He brought the nation of Israel into existence, and that is the vineyard. He chose the Israelites to be in charge of the nation and to direct its affairs. He sent prophets to warn and instruct the people, but they were persecuted and many were killed. In the end God sent His only Son as their Messiah in the hope that the Jews would realise who He is and respect Him, but instead they rejected Him and had Him crucified. So, one day, God is coming back to judge the living and the dead. Those to embrace Christ will enter into the joys of the Lord, and those who reject him will suffer the negative consequences, and they will be shut out of the New Israel which is placed into the hands of those who love and accept Jesus.

Yes, Jesus knew He was going to die. And it is understood how certain early scriptures mean to foretell the death of Jesus.

In the parable, I understand that it is expected that a human father might feel his workers would reverence his son, even if they disrespected servants whom the father had sent.

But this is a parable, I believe, in which it can be understood that not every item directly states a truth about God. Clearly our Father knew the Jews would not reverence His Son.

Another example of what needs to be understood beyond strict literal meaning, is how Jesus says He will come as a thief in the night. Jesus clearly is not a thief who has come to steal like Satan has come.

And the LORD is said to be our solid rock. We need to get what this means. It does not mean He is some material boulder or large stone mountain somewhere on this earth.
