Hey there, I myself love compact bibles. Here are some of my favorites divided by translation and in no particular order -- you might see some of my reviews with pictures on Amazon
. Unfortunately, most of these might be a tad smaller than 10 pt font:
KJV:
"Suit Coat Pocket, New Testament w Psalms and Proverbs" by Church Bible Publishers (visit their site).
- Imitation leather, but feels like goatskin!
- Can fit in jeans back pocket.
- Double column
- Verse format
- Made in USA
- Great font size
-
Local Church Bible Publishers also prints a similar one, but with Scofield notes and smaller font.
"Share Jesus Without Fear: New Testament" by Holman Bible Staff, ISBN: 9781558197930
- Bonded leather, stiff, but feels great to touch.
- Slim/long design
- Single column
- Verse format
- Made in Belgium
For cheaper quality, Hendrickson makes some $8 ones made out of imitation and "flexi" leather. Paragraph format, but very thin paper (made in China).
NASB:
"New Testament with Psalms and Proverbs" by The Lockman Foundation, ISBN: 9781885217868
- Blue paperback, but sturdy. Comes in bonded leather also.
- Only $5
- Round corners, perfect for in the pocket.
- Verse format
ESV:
None that I've found. For New Testament only, I just use their large print paperback or Gideons which is much better quality than Crossway (surprisingly). Family Christian used to have it's own line of ESV New Testaments, but I've only found it in hot pink
NRSV:
New Testament and Psalms by Cambridge, ISBN: 9780521759779
- Imitation leather
- Cambridge decided to have a company in Hong Kong print these, and it's noticeable. I've own 3 or 4 and there was always something wrong with them (wasn't glued evenly, etc)
- Slim/long design
RSV-CE/2CE:
New Testament Pocket Edition by Scepter, ISBN: 9781594172373
- Imitation leather, but feels great.
- One column
- Paragraph format
- Verse numbers in margin.
Catholic New Testament with Psalms by Ignatius Press, ISBN: 9781586171308
- Paperback. Comes in genuine leather also.
- Double column
- Paragraph format
- Printed in China, but good paper quality.
NKJV:
None that I've found. It'd probably be best to just use those "Here's Hope" New Testaments, or even a Gideons from the mid 80s-90s.
NLT:
No "fancy" ones that I've found. There are 2 paperback versions currently in print -- both in VERY tiny font and brown recycled paper. The "New Believer's" New Testament from 1996 is surprisingly still around -- compact and better made that the actively printed ones, but it being pre-2nd edition is much more dynamic in translation.
Hope this helps!
