All the more craven for the scandal the church is already going through. These people don't seem to want to learn.

What makes me angry about it are all of the ones who are half-way discrete about it and don't get arrested.

I think they have already learned they are supposed to be immune from prosecution. Maybe in Chicago. Craven is exactly the word for it.

The strange thing is that these two priest are from Colombia and I just read a story how there is a pipeline in the US for young Colombian seminarians who are gay and they are passed around the US among various Diocese and certain higher-ups use them for sex.

I can’t say the word I want to say. I just woke up and found this post, and one other, and don’t know what the heck I am doing. It is hard to keep going. Really hard. I veer between wanting to just leave the Church, and wanting to stay. All of tbese things are undermining so many people, as I have been aporoached by prople in my own parish with horrible stories. Where do we go now?

On a side note, these people should know just how much they ruin the life of decent priests.
A really good friend of mine (a priest) told be he get yelled at when walking in the streets and especially near the church.
People shout pedophilie devil and such.
It's horrible to think of, almost as horrid as those scandals themselves.
If these gay and pedophile priests ever repents I suspect seeing the harm they've caused will be their experience of purgatory.

The only priests you can give a word of support to are the ones who haven't been caught... yet.
I honestly don't feel confident giving any priest a word of support. Some of the bad priests gave no indication that they were bad. You don't always know which ones are bad by any obvious indicators.

thank you woodsy....it may be a woman survivor thing for me to be shaken with the church, but not my faith in god almighty.
my assaults have been thru other areas, so I fear sometimes more than others can grasp

Having the ability to trust is truly hard for me.
I totally trust God.
But mankind?
Not so much lately.
but I accept the challenge and want my faith formation to continue as God directs my path and builds my character for the better.
