Judgement doesn't mean pointless, endless, sadistic, hopeless, insane, useless tortures that never end.

Judgement involves, rather, a purpose of correction:
Yes those were temporal punishments of those in the church. As such it was meted out so they would not stand condemned on Judgment Day.

Compare now 1 Corinthians 6 since you quoted from 1 Corinthians 5:

Does not address the judged in the Lake of Fire.

In Scripture the judgement of the wicked is for their own good.
Actually in Scriptures the judged are condemned for rejecting Christ Jesus.

For God so loved the world that He gave the only begotten Son, so that everyone believing in Him should not perish, but should have eonian (aionion) life. (Jn. 3:16).

In John 3:16 there is no question that those who are believing - shall - not perish. Even though the subjunctive "should" is used. For it is used with the hina (so that) indicating purpose or result.

Likewise, in the very next verse, Jn.3:17, the hina occurs again with subjunctive, just as it does in John 3:16:

For God did not send His Son into the world that He might judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. (Jn.3:17)

There we see God's reason in sending His Son, namely to save the world. That was the Diivine will of God, Who is Love Omnipotent. And notice what BDAG says about the "divine will":

“In many cases purpose and result cannot be clearly differentiated, and hence ἵνα is used for the result that follows according to the purpose of the subj. or of God. As in Semitic and Gr-Rom. thought, purpose and result are identical in declarations of the divine will…” https://translate.academic.ru/ἵνα/el/xx/

More literal versions of John 3:16 say:

16 For thus God loves the world, so that He gives His only-begotten Son, that everyone who is believing in Him should not be perishing, but may be having life eonian. (CLV)

16 for God did so love the world, that His Son—the only begotten—He gave, that every one who is believing in him may not perish, but may have life age-during. (YLT)

16 For God, so loved, the world, that, his Only Begotten Son, he gave,—that, whosoever believeth on him, might not perish, but have life age-abiding. (Ro)

16 Thus for loved the God the world, so that the son of himself the only-begotten he gave, that every one who believing into him, not may be destroyed, but may have life age-lasting. (Diaglott)

Perish for how long & in what way? The same Greek word for "perish" is used of the prodigal son who was "lost" but later found. He was ruined, not annihilated.

Not everyone will get EONIAN life, which pro Endless Hell club, anti universalist, versions mistranslate as "eternal life". Those who believe before they die get EONIAN life. They will live & reign with Christ for the 1000 years of the millennial EON (Rev.20). Unbelievers will not. They go to "hell" until they repent & are saved, since God becomes "all in ALL" (1 Cor.15:22-28). For Jesus is the Lamb of God Who takes away the sin of the world (Jn.1:29), "the Saviour of the world" (John 4:42), Who will draw all to Himself (John 12:32).

John 3:16 says unbelievers "perish", not that they perish endlessly. If Jesus had wanted to say "perish endlessly" there was a Greek word for "endless" He could have used (aperantos, 1 Tim.1:4). He could have also used the words "no end" (Lk.1:33) of perishing. Clearly endless punishment is not the teaching of the Word of God.

"While we are on the topic, however, I might mention that, alongside various, often seemingly contradictory images of eschatological punishment, the New Testament also contains a large number of seemingly explicit statements of universal salvation, excluding no one (for instance, John 3:17; 12:32, 47; Romans 5:18-19; 11:32; 1 Corinthians 15:22; 2 Corinthians 5:14, 19; Philippians 2:9-11; 1 Timothy 2:3-6;4:10; Titus 2:11; Hebrews 2:9; 2 Peter 3:9; Colossians 1:19-20; 1 John 2:2 … to mention only some of the most striking). What does this have to do with those who do not know God?
These scriptures are talking about Christians or as those scriptures state the LORDS own people.

So according to your own doctrine would that not mean God cannot even save His own people?
What a terrifying gospel that is.

Paul is addressing those who know the Lord. The New creature in Christ.

Many modern translations with large teams of conservative interdenominational Bible scholars do produce reliable trustworthy translations of Scripture. Translations with few scholars do not have the checks and balances in the way of oversight committees and an editorial staff. This is my general take on the matter.

The one who does not know God, keeps his own counsel, believes in the old saying if you do not have anything nice to say don't say anything at all and in general treats everyone in a kind manner.
Does this person go to church?

Now according to the eternal torment doctrine the christian gets to go to heaven even if he lived like hell on earth and the one who did not know God and treated others as he would have them do unto him get to go to eternal torment

The French writer and philosopher, Voltaire (1694-1778) was a deist – his belief in the existence of a supreme being arising from reason rather than revelation. He opposed Christian beliefs fiercely and said that the Gospels were fiction and Jesus thus did not exist. Voltaire ridiculed God by saying that he is a comedian playing to an audience too afraid to laugh. To him, religion was a social phenomenon and he was in favour of religious freedom in a multireligious society. He said that one religion would lead to despotism; when there were only two religions people would cut one another’s throats; but when there were many religions they would be happy and live together peacefully. the new creatures in Christ do not = the world and God was in Christ reconciling the WORLD to Himself.

Hades gets dumped into the Lake of Fire.

Revelation 20: NASB
14Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death—the lake of fire. 15And if anyone was found whose name was not written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

Yup that is just about what one would expect from someone who had only heard the doctrine of eternal torment.
You missed the hardened heart which could not repent.

As seen here:

Hebrews 12: NASB

14Pursue peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no one will see the Lord. 15See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God; that no root of bitterness springing up causes trouble, and by it many be defiled; 16that there be no immoral or godless person like Esau, who sold his own birthright for a single meal. 17For you know that even afterwards, when he desired to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no place for repentance, though he sought for it with tears.

Do I think Voltaire if he repented would receive forgiveness. Yes I do, but as the above notes, he could not find repentance.

Romans 9: NASB

14What shall we say then? There is no injustice with God, is there? Many forget to include these passages when speaking of universal salvation for the reprobate mind (Romans 1:28).

Here's another frightening account:

William Pope was at one time a member of the Methodist Church and seemingly a saved and happy man. His wife, a devoted Christian, died triumphantly. After her death, however, his zeal for religion declined, and by associating with backslidden hypocrites he apostatised and walked the path of spiritual ruin. His companions even professed to believe in the redemption of devils. William admired them, visited pubs with them and in time became a complete drunkard. He finally became a disciple of Thomas Paine and associated with a number of deistical people. They would assemble together on Sundays to confirm each other in their infidelity and often amused themselves by throwing the Word of God on the floor, kicking it around the room and treading it under their feet.

One day William took seriously ill with tuberculosis. Mr. Rhodes visited him, exhorted him to repentance and confidence in the Almighty Saviour, and also prayed with him before leaving. In the evening, William again sent for Mr. Rhodes. He found William in the utmost distress, overwhelmed with bitter anguish and despair. He endeavoured to encourage him by mentioning several cases in which God had saved the greatest of sinners, but he answered, “No case of any that has been mentioned is comparable to mine. I have no contrition; I cannot repent. God will damn me! I know the day of grace is lost.”

Mr. Rhodes asked him if he had ever really known anything of the mercy and love of God. “O yes,” he replied, “many years ago I truly repented and sought the Lord and found peace and happiness. But I have turned my back on Him, scoffed at Him and now I am damned forever! I know the day of grace is past, gone, never more to return! I cannot pray; my heart is quite hardened. I have no desire to receive any blessing at the hand of God.” He then cried out, “Oh, the hell, the torment, the fire that I feel within me! Oh, eternity! eternity! Those were all temporal tests and chastisement for those who were either already believers or chosen of God in Paul's case.

These weren't believers:

1 Tim.1:19 holding on to faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and so have suffered shipwreck with regard to the faith. 20 Among them are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have handed over to Satan to be taught not to blaspheme.…

They had already rejected the blood covenant. Yet God was still working to save them. So why would He not work to save the exact same types (or lessor sinners) postmortem? Do His ways change? Does His love have an expiry date like a carton of milk? Is He powerless to save? Has Jesus blood shed for them lost its power?

Similarly:

1 Cor.5:3b I have already pronounced ***JUDGEMENT*** on the one who did this, just as if I were present

1 Cor.5:4 In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, 5 hand this man over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved on the day of the Lord.

There is no Biblical option B to the New Covenant in Christ's blood.

Nobody said there was.
