It is considered fiction. It is considered poetry, fantasy, and historical fiction at most. If so, what would the Book of Revelations be considered to be? Fantasy, Horror, or science fiction?

The bible is not considered fiction, it is considered a religious work. The Revelation is considered prophecy.

Revelation is considered an apocalypse. It's a recognized literary form.
Do you mean like "Dr. Strangelove" or "Beneath the Planet of the Apes...?"

You've been watching that Fake News Network haven't you.

;)

Science Fact is more like it.

Did you know that Humans have twenty four ribs that surround the Heart?

Ever heard of the Twenty Four Elders surrounding the Throne?

The Seven Spirits that breathe through the lungs?

See...

The Bible is written in a way that sounds foolish to the profane... on purpose of course.

It's like God's I.Q. test to see who really has the Holy Ghost in them.

Psalms 2:4
"He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision"

It's pretty obvious the OP hasn't studied the Bible academically. Each book is approached according to the genre it best fits. That includes the historical works. There is an understanding that ancient histories weren't 100% factual.

The ancient Hebrews had no concept of "history" as we think of it. No idea of "narrative."

It was God explaining to us the reality of Who He is, who we are, and our relationship. So allegory and parables were entirely reasonable from that approach.

Sometimes, we can get accurate historical data from the Bible. That's an incidental thing; it wasn't meant to be used that way.

Likely, the key is in 1 Chronicles:

1 Chronicles 24:1 Now these were the divisions of the sons of Aaron: The sons of Aaron: Nadab, and Abiu, and Eleazar, and Ithamar. [2] But Nadab and Abiu died before their father, and had no children: so Eleazar, and Ithamar did the office of the priesthood. [3] And David distributed them, that is, Sadoc of the sons of Eleazar, and Ahimelech of the sons of Ithamar, according to their courses and ministry. [4] And there were found many more of the sons of Eleazar among the principal men, than of the sons of Ithamar. And he divided them so, that there were of the sons of Eleazar, sixteen chief men by their families: and of the sons of Ithamar eight by their families and houses.

The 24 symbolize the whole of His Church.

There is also the thought that they represent the 12 tribes if Israel and the 12 Apostles, who Jesus told they would be judges at the final judgement.

And it's not limited to the Bible or other religious texts. History was all about the narrative, not the facts. It's why we are so unsure about Classical Greece even though they wrote everything down.

Yes. When Greeks started writing history in the sense we think of it, it was a very new thing, and no doubt strange to most people reading it.

It wasn't until Hellenistic times that history as we think of it, was first written. Herodotus was considered by the later Romans to have been the first real historian.

If you really want to get your head around literary analysis of the bible a good starting point is Erich Auerbach’s Mimesis.
