No, physically beaten up, where I was bruised black and blue, weeping in pain. I finally (some 40 years after it had happened) received an apology from the Archdiocese of Chicago, but it was a long time coming, and there was no financial award.

The "Lavender Mafia" has done more for the Church than ANY heterosexual man in the world. Look at all of the gay men who have beautified the Church. Da Vinci, Michelangelo, etc., for the artists, plus all of the writers, singers, and so on who have built up the Church.

But still, people in this thread are conflating homosexuality and pederasty. They are NOT the same thing.

Not the only case I have heard of nasty nuns in the Chicago diocese about that time.

Individual homosexuals do not of necessity define a mafia. It is the mutual protective racket and the mutual promotional racket that defines a mafia. And ex-Cardinal McCarrick is a great case study in how the Lavender Mafia works.

Oh, they differ sometimes. A homosexual act is a sexual act between two people of the same sex. Pederasty involves a sexual act where one person is not yet an adult. There can be quite a bit of overlap. And the link you provided a post or so ago says "the contemporary pederast is first and foremost, a homosexual, with all that the sexual deviancy implies."

And I am in the U.K. and upon hearing about Penbsylvania, my friend told me after Mass, of how she hsed to be beaten up black and blue by the nuns in our town. She played truant a lot as a result of it. And the nuns took her aside and beat her even worse telling her this was a warning as to how much worse it would get if she told a ybody. Her mother knew, but did nothing. My friend saud “You just accept it though, as kids.” Y heart bled for her

But Michie made an error. Homosexuality is all about a MAN having (or desiring) sex, love, compassion, companionship, etc. with a MAN. The usual victims of pedophilia are <b>CHILDREN!</b> Some pedophiles like children so young that their pubic hair, for instance, has not even begun to grow! Some male pedophiles like little girls. Some female pedophiles like little boys.

There is a definite higher frequency in the statistics.

The fact that some of the abuse occurred between male priests and young girls or between nuns and young men does not negate the fact that the overwhelming majority have been male on male, and that we continue to see in the news accounts of drug-fueled gay male orgies among priests.

I'm certain that there are sinners of every stripe among priests, as they are human beings, but the evidence of years seems to indicate a large problem involving homosexual priests abusing their pastoral power, their power to determine who becomes a priest, and eventually, their power over the very culture of the priesthood.

This book came out back when I was still a Catholic. Some have been talking about it for a long time prior to now. I was able to deny it for a long time.

While the entire crisis cannot be laid at the feet of homosexuals, we cannot dismiss the fact of a much larger problem which is homosexual in origin.

Catholic school, at least the ones I attended, definitely didn't like kids speaking up for themselves. There was often retribution for doing so.

This thread hurts my heart.
