I study the scriptures carefully, no more youtube, or putting 100% trust in man alone.

This is what my Church is telling me, I don't know for sure yet but it doesn't seem to add up.

1. They believe that they are the only true church, and you can't get salvation if you're not apart of it.
2. They think you can lose salvation, I was told to hold on to it for dear life.
3. You need to follow every teaching of the Bible, including some OT laws.
4. Members will be banned if they miss Sabbath, or if they leave the Church they are banned and lost salvation and cannot come back because they believe they never had it in the first place.
5. They will tell you not to learn anything else outside the Church, because satan will deceive you.
6. And they believe the Pope is the anti-christ.

I don't know, the Bible seems to tell me we cannot save ourselves only Jesus can if we put all our trust in him and really believe!

I had a terrible dream of being attacked by wolves thinking they were trying to help me. I get these thoughts of being commanded to trust in Jesus, and read the Bible.

When was that church founded? Where? By whom? By whose authority do they teach those things? Those are the questions you should be asking of your "church". I could be wrong but it sounds like Seventh Day Adventists.

After reading the first point I was thinking it was the Orthodox church you were referring to, then I looked at your profile, and sure enough, Eastern Orthodox.
Before today I had no idea how these people believed only they were God's true church.
There is a thread in St. Justin's about the invisible church bugging someone.

You are put into the Body of Christ by the Holy Spirit. 1 Corinthians 12:13
We receive salvation by believing in Christ. John 3:16
Jesus said those He gives eternal life to will never perish. John 10:28
We are to love God because He first loved, and we are to love others as He loved us.
4 and 5 sound like something cults will tell you.
As for the Pope being Anti-Christ, who knows? God knows, antichrist will be manifested soon enough. Before that it is only speculation.

I had a terrible dream of being attacked by wolves thinking they were trying to help me. I get these thoughts of being commanded to trust in Jesus, and read the Bible.
1. There is only one true Church of God but it does not have a name or walls to confine it(
Acts 7:47-50, Acts 17:23-25, 1 Cor 3:8-11, 16-17, 1 Cor 6:13,15, 17-20, 1 John 3:24, 1 John 4:14-15, 2 Cor 6:16). There are many people within different churches who are saved by faith accepting/believing fully the form of doctrine they were delivered(Romans 6:17-18) and even some who are saved who have not heard the doctrine in any form but keep the Law of God by nature(Romans 2:13-15). So this teaching of your Current church is wrong.
2. A man cannot lose his salvation but he can certainly forfeit it by entering into sin again(Hebrews 10:26-31; 2 peter 2:19-22; Matt 13:2-8, 13-23; Mark 4:3-8, 14-20; Luke 8:5-8, 11-15). So this teaching from your church is false.
3. You must keep the law of Christ/God to maintain your salvation(Revelation 14:12-13; John 14:15-21;James 2:14-26) as we are justified by faith and works, but the Old testament/mosaic law was fulfilled in Christ only the Moral law remains because it was and still is separate from the law of Moses. So depending on whether or not these people were speaking to the Moral or Mosaic laws, this they are either correct or wrong. Hard to say without specifics.
4. Every person that accepts Christ becomes a temple for the holy spirit so as long a person keeps the sabbath day holy going to any specific building is not required of him. So this is a false teaching.
5. There is wisdom in becoming strong in the doctrine of God before learning of other religions/denominations beliefs so that you aren't carried away by deception. But what a person chooses to learn is up to them. So this teaching is wrong only after a point, I can understand where they might be coming with it not wanting people who are still needing milk getting carried away with every wind of Doctrine.
6. I agree completely with this. But would add that anyone working against Christ is an anti Christ.

I hope this helps. Study to show yourself approved Brother.
1 Thess 5:21
21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
2 timothy 3:16-17
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
2 timothy 4:1-2, 5
1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.
5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
Romans 12:2
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Acts 17:11
11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
Proverbs 12:1
1 Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.
Proverbs 8:33
33 Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not.
2 Timiothy 2:15
15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Almost all those points have "cult" written all over them. Do a search for characteristics of a cult. Their focus is always carnal control. Remember Gal 5.1: It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Therefore, do not be entangled again in a yoke of bondage."

It is never good sign when churches try to isolate themselves or become super legalistic. My congregation keeps the Sabbath and OT laws, but they don't compel us to attend every Sabbath. Recently I missed a Sabbath because I was attending a conference and it was no big deal. I believe that we can lose our salvation, but that is only if we reject God, not if we join a different congregation. There is a lot of false information on the Internet, so it's certainly good to be discerning of what we take in, but there are also a lot of excellent teachings too. Every time we get a new US President, there are people who find reasons for why he is the antichrist, and the same goes for every Pope or other political figures. Even a broken clock is right twice a day so eventually they might be right some day, but I don't think people are doing us any favors by obsessing over everyone being the antichrist.

My parents attended a church for around 35 years and held many leadership roles during that time, but eventually they felt called to join a different congregation. So they met with the leadership to explain their reasons for leaving and before they left they left they were called up front to be prayed over by the congregation and departed with their blessing. In my opinion, that was a good and healthy way to handle people leaving a congregation.

1. They believe that they are the only true church, and you can't get salvation if you're not apart of it.

A) David was not part of the church
B) David was sinner but believed God
C) David was saved
D) Therefore there is salvation outside of that church

2. They think you can lose salvation, I was told to hold on to it for dear life.

Not possible , salvation is not by works and therefore it cannot be lost by works Ephesians 2:8-9 , Galatians 2:16 , Hebrews 10:5 , Hebrews 10:11-12 , John 10:28-30 , Ephesians 1:13-14 ,
1 Peter 1:18-19

3. You need to follow every teaching of the Bible, including some OT laws.

No read the Scriptures above

Members will be banned if they miss Sabbath, or if they leave the Church they are banned and lost salvation and cannot come back because they believe they never had it in the first place.

Not Scriptural read
Colossians 2:16-23 King James Version (KJV)
16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:

17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

They will tell you not to learn anything else outside the Church, because satan will deceive you.

That's true
1 Timothy 6:19-21 King James Version (KJV)
19 Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:

21 Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen.

6. And they believe the Pope is the anti-christ.
Not possible , not saying that Pope could not be antichrist but it's not possible for them to know that read :
2 Thessalonians 2
7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

A) First the Holy Spirit is removed with believers
B) Then antichrist is revealed
C) Paul is comforting the brothers because they thought they missed the rapture and were in the Tribulation alredy and were left behind

Your faith designation says Eastern Orthodox. However, many of the teachings you listed above are not the teachings of the Orthodox Church. Is your current Church still Orthodox? If so, I recommend learning what the Church believes more.

Personally, I strongly disagree with some of the points you listed - and the Church strongly disagrees with many of those points as well.

Well there are plenty of Youtube videos implicating the Pope as the Anti-Christ! : )
If you look at some of the things the Pope has said.. like that there are many faiths that lead to God.. then we know these are certainly not biblical. However..there is no proof or validity that he is the Anti-Christ, and that anyone would have such knowledge into that at present time, unless of course, it was the Pope himself !

Simply put, if the Bible is telling you something different than your Church, then your church is wrong.

There can only be one authority. Is that your Church? Or the word of G-d himself?

I think you know the answer, and your dream seems obvious to me.

Jesus said "I am the Way, the Truth , and the Life, no one comes to the Father except through Me"

Not through church A. or church B. but through Christ alone. Any church who claims to be the path to salvation is in clear error and you should leave it, as that is indicative of a cult.

1. The true Church is the body of Christ made without hands, and is many members, but never just one: notwithstanding the true Church speaks the same things, and is not divided, and is perfectly joined together in the same mind and the same judgment.
2. The Lord Jesus Christ instructively warns us plainly to "Remember Lots wife" among many other warnings.
3. Yes we must learn to not think above (beyond) that which is written, that we may avoid exaggerations and over-estimations.
4. The instruction from the Lord Jesus is that it is right to do well on the Sabbath days, and that is all we need to know about this matter; if we deny Him, He also will deny us; notwithstanding if we abide not in unbelief, god is able to graft us in again.
5. It is so that we again must learn to not think above that which is written: nevertheless we are in the world and are subject to all things in the world, but we must keep ourselves from being brought under the power of any by the Word of God, which we must learn to not think above.
6. There are many anit-christs who are against Christ and trust in other than Christ.

Well, I actually believe #2 and #3 but those people seem cult like. They remind me of a man (though it can be a woman sometimes) in a domestic abuse situation. They seem to use fear to control you. They want to tell you where you can and cannot go. They are threatening.

Guess what? The Bible never tells us to go to Church anyway. If you feel blessed by one, okay, and Churches, wherever they were true to Scriptures, have enormously benefited the world. But, again, we are not told to go to Church, meaning a big building with a cross on top where people go to worship on Sundays. The apostles and early believers never heard of such a place. Sooo....if these people are saying go to this CHURCH or go to hell, and also are saying to follow the O.T., they are being contradictory.

The word "Church" is a Greek translation from the word "ecclesia" which simply means a gathering of believers at any time, any place.

I'd say get out of that place ASAP. If you are strong and healthy do a 24 hour water only fast and pray for guidance on where to get Christian fellowship and truths.
