"In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did that which was right in his own eyes." - Judges 21:25

We live in a day of “rights.” We have children’s rights, women’s rights, men’s rights, gay rights, animal rights, environmental rights, minority rights, and the list goes on and on. Have you ever stopped to consider that with rights we have responsibilities? It is so very easy to demand our rights; the hard part is fulfilling the responsibility once the rights are granted to us. We as adults have...

I think we have to be careful in the discussion to understand that we are very much in the time of the woman who rides the beast.... The secular civil justice, legislative, and state religious system which receives it’s power from the massive military empire.

It’s one thing to say “we possess rights”... Another discussion altogether on the reality of freely exercising those “rights” without danger of the state usurping/ canceling them at will.....

Your ability to exercise a “right“ is only as good as your ability to prevent The Government from stopping you.... Aka your right is not really an actual right.. It’s sort of the Government winking at you and saying “You can go have your fun so long as you don’t cause us trouble or get in our way...”

It’s pretty clear to me that when we push back in an effort to “exercise our rights” - we run straight into the brick wall of this system..... So for example - a private business can do business with whoever they choose unless the Government says so... You can have all the free speech you want unless the Government says so.. You can freely worship however you want unless the Government says so....

I think that's what the OP meant. Yes, we have rights, but we also have a responsibility to the consequences, rewards, effects and all outcomes that come along with exercising those rights.

For Example, we have a right to "Free Speech" in America, what responsibilities come along with that right being available to ALL Americans? The responsibility to speak the truth and stand up for injustices seem to be the obvious ones. But what about Nazi American's? Do they not have the same "Free Speech" we are aloud? Thus stands the responsibility on our part to be civil and allow them their right and they are responsible for the backlash they will get for spreading hate speech.

A great real-life example would have to be the story about the student that went over to North Korea and was tortured into a vegetated state for tearing down a propaganda poster. The American student was expressing his right to "Freedom of Speech" in a county that did not give him that right. So he was 100% responsible for all of the actions that were taken against him. Were they excessive and inhumane? That depends on who you ask. I would say "YES", but I live in a country where saying that is my right, but I don't believe North Korea feels that way, which is THEIR right that they have responsibilities for.

If that makes sense.

Our constitution leans upon this idea of inalienable rights granted by our creator.....

And our government makes a big show of parading the freedoms and rights of it’s citizens....

And yet we must come begging and pleading before one branch of the government for protection from the abuses of the self same government.... and there is no guarantee that we will receive this protection as we have seen from numerous recent court cases...

My bigger point was that in reality - these so called “rights” and “freedoms”
are a ruse.. The woman riding on the back of the beast is lying about her authority to “grant” and her power to control the beast..... They are well crafted statements designed as opiates to the masses to keep us in line...

And it reminds us once again - our only hope and trust is in God - not in secular government or it’s many promises...
