Why does Luke 21:27 use the singular "cloud" instead of "clouds"?

While studying on the word "cloud/s" in the Olivet Discourse, I came across something I have never noticed before.

Both Matt and Mark use plural "clouds" for the coming of the Son of Man.

Matthew 24:30

and then shall appear the sign of the Son of Man in the heaven;
and then shall all the tribes of the earth smite the breast,
and they shall see the Son of Man coming upon the clouds of the heaven, with power and much glory;

Matthew 26:64
Jesus saith to him, 'Thou hast said; nevertheless I say to you,
hereafter ye shall see the Son of Man sitting on the right hand of the power,
and coming upon the clouds of the heaven.'

Mark 13:26
'And then they shall see the Son of Man coming in clouds with much power and glory,
Mark 14:62
and Jesus said, 'I am;
and ye shall see the Son of Man sitting on the right hand of the power,
and coming with the clouds of the heaven.'

Revelation 1:7
Behold!
He is coming with the clouds and shall be seeing Him every eye even/also those who Him they pierce
and shall be grieving over Him all the tribes of the land. Yea, Amen.
=============================

Luke 21:
27 ‘And then they shall see the Son of Man coming in a cloud, with power and much glory;
Revelation 14:
14 Then I looked, and behold! a white cloud,
and on the cloud sat One like the Son of Man, having on His head a golden crown,
and in His hand a sharp sickle.
15 And another angel came out of the Santuary, crying with a loud voice to Him who sat on the cloud,
“Thrust in Your sickle and reap, for the time has come for You to reap,
for the harvest of the land is ripe.”
16 So He who sat on the cloud thrust in His sickle on the earth,
and the earth was reaped.
====================

Acts 1:9

Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight.
Revelation 11:12
And they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here.”
And they ascended to heaven in a cloud, and their enemies saw them.

Genesis 1:1 (NKJV)
"cloud"occurs 108 times in 96 verses in the NKJV.

1st time "cloud" is used in OT and NT:

Genesis 9:13
“I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth.

Matthew 17:5
While he was still speaking behold! a bright cloud overshadowed them;
and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is the Son of Me, the beloved-One, in Whom I am well pleased. Be ye hearing Him!”

“Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

2 times in Psalms

Psalms 78:14
In the daytime also
He led them with the cloud,
And all the night with a light of fire.

Psalms 105:39
He spread a cloud for a covering,
And fire to give light in the night.

Swift cloud and Egypt.
Is this talking about the literal country of Egypt today?

Isaiah 19:1
The burden against Egypt.
Behold, the LORD rides on a swift cloud,
And will come into Egypt;
The idols of Egypt will totter at His presence,
And the heart of Egypt will melt in its midst.

Revelation 11:8
And their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our[fn] Lord was crucified.

While studying on the word "cloud/s" in the Olivet Discourse, I came across something I have never noticed before.

Both Matt and Mark use plural "clouds" for the coming of the Son of Man.

Matthew 26:64
Jesus said to him, “It is as you said. Nevertheless, I say to you, hereafter you will see the Son of Man sitting at the rights of the Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.

Mark 13:26
“Then they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.

However, Luke uses singular "cloud", [as does Reve 14:14].
Any significance to that?

Luke 21:27
“Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

Acts 1:9
Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight.

Revelation 11:12
And they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here.”
And they ascended to heaven in a cloud, and their enemies saw them.

Just as in Luke 21:27, the singular word "cloud" is used in Reve 14:.

Revelation 14:

14
Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and on the cloud sat One like the Son of Man, having on His head a golden crown, and in His hand a sharp sickle.

15
And another angel came out of the Santuary, crying with a loud voice to Him who sat on the cloud,

“Thrust in Your sickle and reap, for the time has come for You to reap,
for the harvest of the land is ripe.”
16
So He who sat on the cloud thrust in His sickle on the earth, and the earth was reaped.

This is what the Greek Interlinear says.

MATT 21:64 nefelwn nephelOn G3507 n_ Gen Pl f CLOUDS

MARK 13:26 nefelais nephelais G3507 n_ Dat Pl f CLOUDS

LUKE 21:27 nefelh nephelE G3507 n_ Dat Sg f CLOUD m

Notice, all three are different in the Greek.

I would say, in the Greek there wasn't a plural of/for the word CLOUD, therefore the Translator put in what he thought was the appropriate rendering of the word.

Note also the G3507 is the same for all three, which also leads me to the conclusion it was the discretion of the Translator.

CLOUD-S
G3507
νεφέλη
nephelē
nef-el'-ay
From G3509; properly cloudiness, that is, (concretely) a cloud: - cloud.

G3509
νέφος
nephos
nef'-os
Apparently a primary word; a cloud: - cloud.

I personally do not place any special Spiritual significance to this discrepancy.

Don't dig so deep into it, that you then begin to make things match where there isn't any........Just a cautionary reminder.

Ps 104:3 “Who makes the clouds his chariot: who walks upon the wings of the wind”
Isa 19:1 The Lord rides upon a swift cloud...

2 Sam 22:10-12
10 He bowed the heavens also, and came down; and darkness was under his feet.
11 And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: and he was seen upon the wings of the wind.
12 And he made darkness pavilions round about him, dark waters, and thick clouds of the skies.
(KJV)

Ps 18:9-11
9 He bowed the heavens also, and came down: and darkness was under his feet.
10 And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: yea, he did fly upon the wings of the wind.
11 He made darkness his secret place; his pavilion round about him were dark waters and thick clouds of the skies.
(KJV)
Exo_14:19 And the angel of God, which went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before their face, and stood behind them:
2Ch_5:14 So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of God.
Job_22:13 And thou sayest, How doth God know? can he judge through the dark cloud?
Job_37:15 Dost thou know when God disposed them, and caused the light of his cloud to shine?
Exo_40:38 For the cloud of the LORD was upon the tabernacle by day, and fire was on it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys.

Quite often the word cloud or clouds is used interchangeably with cherubim. It seems as though the cherubim will carry God, surround Him, or cover Him---archangel is a covering cherub, their light being as a cloud that protects the observer from the glory of God. Quite possibly the pillar of a cloud by day were angels. So was the cloud over the tabernacle and over Mt. Zion. When God returns, He will be riding on cherubim's. I would think that quite a coveted job!

Rev_10:1 And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire:
Rev_11:12 And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.
Rev_14:14 And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle.
