The Bible says it pleasured God to sacrifice His Son.....Jesus withstood the shame of the Cross for the reward He knew would be His.....The entire Passion was orchestrated by God......Pilate, Barrabus and all the rest were unknowing players in Gods intricate plan that resulted in the Salvation of all who believe.

Guys, I was just looking at a TV show where a guest has created a documentary on the Holocaust and one speaker in the documentary said "the Jews did not kill Christ".

my thinking is the Romans physically killed Christ but it was the Jews who forced it so they were responsible and accountable, your thoughts on this please?
Peter's sermon to the Jews on Pentecost, "This man was handed over to you by God’s set purpose and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross." Acts 2:22

Mt 27:22-25 Pilate said to them, "What then shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?" They all said to him, "Let Him be crucified!" Then the governor said, "Why, what evil has He done?" But they cried out all the more, saying, "Let Him be crucified!" When Pilate saw that he could not prevail at all, but rather that a tumult was rising, he took water and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, "I am innocent of the blood of this just Person. You see to it."When Pilate saw that he was getting nowhere, but that instead an uproar was starting, he took water and washed his hands in front of the crowd. "I am innocent of this man’s blood," he said. "It is your responsibility!" All the people answered, "Let his blood be on us and on our children!"

That should pretty much settle the issue.

Let me also add this to the mixing pot.

1 Thessalonians 2:14-16 "For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things of your own countrymen, even as they have of the Jews: Who both killed the LORD Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to all men: Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their sins alway: for the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost."

The rest of Acts of the Apostles 2 settles the issue.*

Remember that Jesus prayed,
Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” Luke 23:34 NKJV

*If you think about it, those that repented DID get Jesus' blood on themselves, after all...!

The only Jews who sought the death of Jesus were the High Priest and his inner circle of Sadducees and perhaps the Herodians. At that point in history the vast majority of Jews had never heard of Jesus. Any Jews who were aware of his execution probably mourned him in a sad, resigned sort of way as just another failed messiah.

You are no longer Jew or Gentile when you become born again .

One is still a Jew who is a Jew. What that means is now there is no separation between Jew and gentile...

That is some statement. I find it hard to believe that God would purposely "torture" his own innocent son? If God needed Jesus's blood for a new covenant purpose then this could have been done without torture?

I don't think you can blame the entire Jewish race for the actions of a handful.

They both knew how it would play out... and agreed to do it, anyway.

"He said to them, “But who do you [my disciples] say that I am?
Peter answered and said, “The Christ of God.”
And He strictly warned and commanded them to tell this to no one, saying, “The Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day.” Luke 9:20-22 NKJV

That would be like blaming all white people for Jim Jones' massacre.

Yes, Jews were instrumental as Peter cried out the Jews in the following plea for them to repent and be saved...
Acts 2:14:
Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd: “Fellow Jews and all of you who live in Jerusalem, let me explain this to you; listen carefully to what I say.
...
Acts 2:22-24:
22 “Fellow Israelites, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know. 23 This man was handed over to you by God’s deliberate plan and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross. 24 But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him.

How would His death be a sacrifice for all sin, if it were nothing more than the actions of an unruly mob...?

Isaiah 53:10 King James Version (KJV)
10 Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.

Basically he was in your place so it's like he was pleased by torturing you , God just hates sin with holy passion.
That's why we preach the gospel so people don't end up paying themselfes .

When I was a teenager, I couldn't understand the point of it, either. THIS PAGE helped to clear it up for me.

But we are all so deadly sinful that I believe this grueling death shows us what our own punishment should look like...millions of times worse since we are sinners and Jesus is holy. Here's Scripture on the matter...
Hebrews 2:10-11:
In bringing many sons and daughters to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through what he suffered. 11 Both the one who makes people holy and those who are made holy are of the same family.
Hebrews 2:14-18:
Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil— 15 and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death. 16 For surely it is not angels he helps, but Abraham’s descendants. 17 For this reason he had to be made like them,k]" data-fn="#fen-NIV-29995k">[k] fully human in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people. 18 Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.
Hebrew 5:7-10:
During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with fervent cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission. 8 Son though he was, he learned obedience from what he suffered 9 and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him 10 and was designated by God to be high priest in the order of Melchizedek.

No. Jesus the Christ was pre-destined to willingly die, to shed His blood and die for all of mankind, just as it is written here:

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." ~John 3:16
Amen. It is dangerous territory to say "the Jews killed Jesus" because such incredible evil has been done with this slogan. And every disciple, every relative, every childhood friend of Our Lord was Jewish. As well as Himself.

Yes, you are right.

Judea/Israel was under Roman rule in 33AD. The Jews and Chief/High Priest had no legal authority to put offending Jews or anyone to death, eg for breaking Moses Law - adultery, homosexuality, incest, blasphemy, idolatry, etc - these were instead permitted under Roman Law. The Jews and Chief Priest wanted to get rid of Jesus because they desired for a Christ/Messiah who would militarily defeat the Romans and gift them back their kingdom of earth, ie Judea/Israel.(JOHN.6:15)
....... To get the Roman ruling authorities to crucify Jesus Christ, they made false accusations against Him as being a rebel "King of the Jews". Pontius Pilate was not convinced but had to acquiesce to them when a Jewish mob/riot threatened.

After "killing/murdering" Jesus Christ, they followed-up by persecuting His followers as Jewish heretics/cult, eg the first Jewish Christian martyr, Stephen, at ACTS.7.
....... They even appointed false christs to lead them into armed rebellion against the Romans = the Jewish-Roman Wars - MATTHEW.24:15 & 24, LUKE.21:20.

As per ROMANS.12:19-21, God's vengeance upon the Jews and Chief Priest for "murdering" His Son occured in 70AD when a mighty Roman Army arrived in Judea/Israel to squash the Jewish rebellion = the Jews were massacred and their Holy Temple of God in Jerusalem destroyed. Thereafter, no Jews were allowed to settle in Judea/Israel = became back to Palestine/Philistine.
