This is supposed to be the longest Blood moon this century. Lasting for almost 2 hours! That's a really long one, long enough for many to see it.
We can't see it in the US but those in Australia, Africa, Asia, Europe and S. America will be able to see this special eclipse.
It will last 103 minutes, so 2 hours and 3 minutes of blood red moon.

I was too lazy to get up at 4am ( Australian time) was awake til 3am anyway, I'm sure it was wonderful but I figured I'll see a whole lot more spectacular in heaven!

Traveler1 I hope that the fires are controlled and put out soon and that people and animals are safe. Fires are terrible and so destructive and frightening.

Here are a couple of pictures of how the "Blood Moon" lunar eclipse appeared here in Mindanao. The moon was low in the sky and it was a bit hazy, so it was difficult to get a good focus on it with my camera. The second picture has the moon with Mars to the left.

The super blood wolf moon of 2019 will take place late on January 20th and/or January 21st, depending on your time zone. According to National Geographic, totality will begin at 11:41 p.m. EST on January 20th and is expected to last for 62 minutes. That said, they note that the entire event will last for three and a half hours. Yes, a super blood wolf moon is as crazy as it sounds. Aside from being a rare phenomenon, a super blood wolf moon is three events happening at the same time, a supermoon, a blood moon, and a wolf moon. To start, EarthSky says a supermoon occurs when a new or full moon coincides with the closest point to Earth in its monthly orbit. A blood moon happens when a moon is in total eclipse and appears red because of it's relation the sun. Finally, a wolf moon is simply the first full moon of the year, named after wolves
