Hi, I am so glad you found this forum. I am a stay at home mom to 4 girls. I think parenting in general is tough. When I get stressed from parenting, I spend more time in prayer, giving my stress to God, and letting Him give me His peace. I have learned that I can pray to Him anytime, anywhere. So even as I am doing the laundry or the dishes or disciplining my girls, I can be praying for strength, for help, for guidance. God knows the challenges you face everyday, and He can give you exactly what you need. Could you find a pastor that you can talk with? A pastor can give you good Biblical advice and help you see your circumstances from a different perspective. I found a church at one point that had free counseling for their church members. Is it possible that a church in your area would have free counseling or charge based on a sliding scale?
As far as encouragement, these are a few of my favorite verses.
"The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” Deut. 31:8
"Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
I have summoned you by name; you are mine.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers,they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you abaze.
For I am the Lord your God,
the Holy one of Israel, you Savior." Isaiah 43:1b-3a
When I was in the midst of a spiritual battle, this one helped me so much.
"Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—
who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases...
who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion,
who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s."
Psalm 103:2-5
