Hi everyone. I just became born again a few months ago. I don't think I fear God enough also I am not even sure what it means. Does it mean to fear his judgment? In that case I am scared of facing him and I also fear for others judgement.

How do I fear him more though? What does it mean to fear God?

NO, not fear of punishment.
Judgment? Yes, not fear, but welcoming Yahweh's Judgment and the Judgment of His Word, and of Brethren in Christ Jesus. - Judgment not as in condemnation judgment/ but as in appraisal of what is good , what is right (or wrong) to be encouraged, edified, trained and disciplined and corrected.

As trusting in the Father in Heaven eliminates fear of punishment, so we can always walk abiding in Jesus daily, continually, doing His Word,
without any fear of punishment,
and always welcoming with positive results and expectations His Judgment.

The longer someone lives, it seems most usual, we become more and more aware of how sinful we once were, and the frail weakness of our own selves/ the flesh and old self,
and it pains us more and more anytime we commit any sin in thought , word or deed, in our hearts the slightest disobedience becomes subject to quick correction (immediately, after we are brought to maturity) ....

i.e. the closer / more we grow in Christ, the more we 'feel' or realize the truth about how far we have been away from Him !

Not with fear nor doubts though, no , rather amazing grace and wonder at His Accomplishing in us His Salvation from what we once were, through all that He has brought us out of and His Promise to finish what He Started.

Fear God means to hold Him in awe.
Do not be afraid of God, for He is love.
Believe He is above everything. Nothing is more powerful than He is.
He is the most magnificent Being ever, no one or anything can compare to Him. He is awesome.

It's a respect thing. You aren't supposed to literally fear Him. He wants us to love Him and get to know Him :) He is the one and only God and we are to Love Him with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength. :) That's what it means :)

I love Psalm 111:

111 Praise ye the Lord. I will praise the Lord with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation.

2 The works of the Lord are great, sought out of all them that have pleasure therein.

3 His work is honourable and glorious: and his righteousness endureth for ever.

4 He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: the Lord is gracious and full of compassion.

5 He hath given meat unto them that fear him: he will ever be mindful of his covenant.

6 He hath shewed his people the power of his works, that he may give them the heritage of the heathen.

7 The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are sure.

8 They stand fast for ever and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness.

9 He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend is his name.

10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.

Fear doing wrong, because God is real, and hasten to confess when you do wrong. (1 John 1:8-10).

4 “I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. 5 But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after your body has been killed, has authority to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him.

6 Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. 7 Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. "

Hebrews 12:6-11 King James Version (KJV)
6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?

8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.

Fear of God is gift , it means you know his nature as judge and try to lead other to Christ so they are not under his divine judgement and wrath
2 Corinthians 5:11

When the Bible says fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom it's talking about the moment you first see God in truth.. it's an awe and love and total respect.

Great testimony! 1 Samuel 7.12: EBENEZER. 'Hitherto hath the LORD helped us.'

Oh well I definitely have experienced that. God is so amazing I love him so much. I just don't understand how fear can be those things though. The definition is the opposite of awe and love. So it's hard for me to grasp.

There were things which gave me reason to fear.. such as when I realized I was free. My fear was in my own inability to do what was pleasing to God without a list of rules.. it was paralyzing for me.. I think when I first realized my own freedom from law I couldn't breathe, because I just knew I'd fail God..

To you it might not be cause to fear, but I was always under the law and a slave.. to experience freedom for the first time is definitely fear inducing.

The other is when for the first time I realized how really powerful God was.. I mean really realized that all this is at the good pleasure of a sovereign God.. I was scared, but that fear quickly gave way to a deep love because I also saw how much God loved me..

It's just natural responses of some people when we realize the fullness of all that is God and salvation.

If you are obeying the Lord's commandments, you are fearing the Lord enough. Otherwise, no.

Maybe the world's definition of fear is opposite of awe, but not God's.

Psalms 19:9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.
Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Proverbs 8:13 The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.
Proverbs 9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
Proverbs 10:27 The fear of the LORD prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.
Proverbs 14:26 In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.
Proverbs 14:27 The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.
Proverbs 15:16 Better is little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure and trouble therewith.
Proverbs 15:33 The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.
Proverbs 16:6 By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORDmen depart from evil.
