Why is no one interested in socially-augmented capitalism? In such a system, diligence is rewarded better than willful laziness, but we don't have to abandon the truly disabled.

Well because they have all been told that communism has fallen : the Berlin wall torn down : the supposed breakup of the old Soviet Union etc , etc

Because it is NOT the responsibility of the State to provide that. It is the responsibility of the local community, the local church, and the local synagogue to provide that.
The government is the worst possible place to meet those needs. Name me one program that the government service that is more efficient than what the private sector does... 1

I know the position of the Right; why they are not economic Centrists* (and don't need it to be reiterated). And I know the position of the Left.
I just don't understand why economic Centrism isn't held as a stable position in itself. The Left and the Right only see it as a place of compromise as they jockey for their extreme agendas.
*To you, there is no distinction between Left and Center. You disqualify yourself from answering this question.

I'm sure that you already know that Revelation 3:15-16 cannot be applied to one's political leanings...
