Mark 14:3
And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured it on his head.

Here we can see a woman doing something out of love for Jesus. But others quickly come up against her actions.

Mark 14:4-5
And there were some that had indignation within themselves, and said, Why was this waste of the ointment made? For it might have been sold for more than three hundred pence, and have been given to the poor. And they murmured against her.

Indignation is basically anger. So this shows that others got angry with her, because they thought she should have done things differently. They even spoke against her.

Mark 14:6
And Jesus said, Let her alone; why trouble ye her? she hath wrought a good work on me.

Jesus tells the others to leave her alone, she is only doing good works. As followers of Jesus it is our job to be performing good works, just as this woman did.

May we learn not to become angry with our brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus, and speak out against them. When we see them performing good works out of their love for Jesus. In a manner that we might not think is fit. For Jesus is most likely smiling down upon them.

Mark 14:7-8
For ye have the poor with you always, and whensoever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always. She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying.

Just as this woman prepared Jesus for his burying, We must be out preparing others for his return.

Mark 14:9
Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, this also that she hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her.

Though others were upset about this womans actions, and called them into question, we can clearly see that Jesus was very pleased by them.

Heavenly Father,
Teach us to be about performing good works so that your name will be glorified, and others can learn of your goodness and mercy. Also teach us not to worry ourselves about what manner others use to perform good works unto your name. For they are simply doing what they can.

Thank you for this.
In Jesus name I pray. Amen!

I stand in agreement with this prayer.

Here we can see a woman doing something out of love for Jesus. But others quickly come up against her actions.

As Christians in active service to Jesus we all have run up against this one. But if we are doing what we can in His service we should feel honored and blessed when this happens, and more, we should expect it. To me it stands as confirmation of being on the right road.

Amen to that! It's all about loving Jesus, leading others to him, and helping others to grow in their faith. As long as we are pleasing Jesus by doing such things, we need not worry what others think of what methods we use to do so.

Father in heaven,

May you be forever Glorified.  We who go about your business bring this Glory to you.  We do this out of love, reverence and respect for you.  Do not allow those who would come against us to rob you of what is rightfully yours.  Rebuke them so we can go about your business and bring you some more.

In the name of your Son.

As born again Christians we all know that we are saved by Grace and not by our good works but rather we do good works BECAUSE of our salvation.

We must do our good works because of, through, and by the grace and power of Jesus Christ. Even though we often look around and find that no man stands with us, we must know we are not standing alone when we are in Him.

It is not important that we are popular or have many friends or few. It does not even matter that those we love do not return our love. What matters is that we love him, who loves us and gave Himself for us. He is our source for all that we need!

Amen! It's our way of thanking Jesus for all He has done! When we understand just how much he truly loves us, we can't help but want to share that love with those around us, and live our life for him.

There's a book I'm reading and something the author wrote realy hit home with me. He mentioned that unless we have been alienated with Christ, then we have not served Christ. I couldn't help but notice we are alienated WITH CHRIST not without him :) What a comfort to know He is always there.

And who better knows what we need than Jesus himself. It would seem that if we are popular, or seeking to be, then we might want to take a step back and reconsider our ways, maybe even forget about our ways and start following His ways. You are so right it's all about loving Jesus, and that's all that ever truly matters.

Here is why we can NEVER be alone!

Colossians 3:3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid WITH Christ IN God.

Amen! and this one!!! Nothing has the power to separate us from His love :)

Romans 8:38-39
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Yes, that´s all. Jesus Christ on ourselves... and as somebody said sometime... works born from us naturally...
