I'm not sure that's true - there was a DECISIVE swing towards the Democrats in both African American party affiliation and African American voting through the 1950s and into the early to mid 1960s. Prior to this, African Americans had favoured the Democrats, but not decisively so.

However, when you look at the reasons WHY African Americans stay the vote for Democrats over Republicans, generally its two reasons - they are more accepting of large Federal (as opposed to state) government, which Democrats generally support, and they perceive a high degree of racial intolerance in the Republican party.
Wrong. Blacks began voting Democrat in the 1930s during the Great Depression, and the reason the blacks started voting for the Democratic Party knowing full well it was the Party of the KKK and Jim Crow laws and segregation, was due to the "New Deal" proposed by FDR. This welfare system was very much needed during the Great Depression. Most Americans had it bad, but the blacks had it worse, so they saw FDR's New Deal proposal as appealing. However, don't think that the New Deal was helping the blacks, as there was a much more nefarious agenda behind it, which I won't get into at this time.

What statistics would those be then?
If you want me to point to specifics you may have to wait till tomorrow as I don't really have time to bring up stats and facts. Or if you are not too lazy, Google is your friend.

I thought you were a teacher. There is a difference between a noun and an adjective, it's not the Democrat Party, why is this so difficult? Inner city != black, but that's what people mean when they say inner city. It's a racialized statement that is unneeded.

Not all inner cities are filled with a high-percentage black population, yet you find many of the same issues of poverty, perhaps it's not because they're black. In fact, poverty seems to show the same misery in non-black communities, especially in rural areas. Oh, but I forgot, this is a black thing, it's special because it's black.

I love these statements, the racialized "they're not living up to their potential." This is the same language where you blame people for being poor. It must be quite the journey from Jesus's words about the poor to the prosperity gospel garbage we hear today, but the pastor does need a new G7, so I guess we should continue to attack poor people for being poor while ignoring the institutional and systemic reasons that created those problems. Let's ignore denial of loans for homes and education that went on for decades and then say it's their own fault.

The fun part about this statement is that Democrats = white people because black people are still infantilized and treated as a powerless group that can do nothing. And this belies the problem seen with many white people, whether they're part of the Democratic or Republican party, the notion that black people need to be treated as a monolithic group.

You just keep telling me new ways of "You can't say that!" I'm just going to keep telling you that I am unconcerned about the landmines you're trying to lay down for me. When you're dealing with actual non-racists, and you're trying to pin racism on every word they use, but they're not intimidated--that's it, dude. You've played your last card.

So. We're still back where we started. Blacks are still at a 27% poverty rate with 75% out of wedlock birth rate. Yep, they got dealt some horribly, horribly bad cards--mostly at the hands of Democrats, actually. I'll never deny that. It seems that YOu want to infantilize black people because you seem to be okay with them receiving generational welfare, which as I said, can be argued is actually "white people's money". I don't want that for anyone. I would love for everyone in America to earn their own money. Your own money builds wealth and so much more.

So, we come back to it. What do the DEMOCRATS have to offer to fix these problems? I keep asking you this but all you have to offer is all the ways I might be stepping on landmines. I repeat. I don't care.

That's really the point of the #Walkaway movement.
What movement? I haven't seen a movement regarding blacks or any other minority or group.

Blacks should self educate themselves and come to their own decision on what they want to do.

I would suggest that they have already "self educated" themselves, and decided they don't want to be part of a party whose leader publicly supports the KKK and Neo-Nazis.

Why do you seemingly find that so difficult to understand? Would you support a party whose leader publicly supports hatred against you? That supports a group that was famous for lynching your forefathers?

The current liberal narrative is thick in ultra-liberal areas that conservatives and Republicans and Trump and his administration are racists and white supremacists and evil, etc.

Narrative? Trump publicly supported the KKK and Neo Nazis after Charlottesville. It is on video. That's not a "narrative", that's a fact.

Okay, I'm sorry, black people are not stupid, they're just uneducated and have no sense of agency. Someone told them something and that's why they vote that way, they're just gullible and too easily manipulated. I think this really is a case of projection, especially considering the folks that believe in this "movement."

Now pardon me while I go back to connecting the dots between all the Illuminati rappers out there.

Repeating a lie doesn’t make it true.

Stop whining and pony up. What do the Democrats have to solve problems? Got anything?

On the plus side, I think his response may be a new record for the most straw men in a single post on this thread.

 Still trying to push this idea that black people are being given something or , which explains their votes as opposed to have a certain set of values and choosing a political party they consider to align with those values. Perhaps if you stop infantilizing black people for a moment, you'd realize this.

This thread is projection gone wild. :D

Ah yes, the user that misquotes you and tells you defend such statements.

Again, this thread is projection gone wild. :D

I know right? Even though President Trump is on video publicly supporting the KKK and Neo-Nazis, some people keep pretending it didn't happen, as though if they pretend hard enough, it will erase the video. SMH.

When someone insists on knowingly repeating a lie, as you are doing here, I often wonder what has happened in their life to bring them to that point. I'm really not looking for an answer, just thinking out loud and expressing my sympathy for your situation. Hopefully in the process of being led to a Christian web site God draws you to Him.

Come on now, black people are looking for stuff and want things to be given to them! The racist Democratic Party tricked them into supporting them with promises of stuff. Where is their reward? Lacking any agency, they can't possibly look at the actions and behavior of the Republican Party and decide it is not a party they want to follow. When their party leader openly supports racists and bigots, going as far as to pardon a racist, you might think that would give someone some moral pause.

Oh, that's easy. I realized that it makes no sense to believe in fantasies, even when it's President Trump telling me to believe in them. I decided that by sticking to facts I could make better choices.

I'm really not looking for an answer,
I'm not surprised. You appear to be very happy believing President Trump.

just thinking out loud and expressing my sympathy for your situation.
Yeah, I know, sometimes I wish I could live in a fantasy world too.

Hopefully in the process of being led to a Christian web site God draws you to Him.

Well, I've got a Christian calling me a liar simply because I won't believe in fantasy untruths put forward by President Trump. Just for my personal information, is this what your bible teaches you to do?

But that only makes the leader of the GOP vaguely racist, or so I heard in this or the other thread. Why can't black people think for themselves and decide to start supporting him?

Actually it's three steps forward and one step back. You're just facing the wrong direction.

Like denying that Trump publicly supported the KKK and Neo-Nazis when he is on video tape doing exactly that. That is facing in the wrong direction, looking back to the past, when segregation and slavery were the order of the day..

You can keep right on with the status quo stereotypical rhetoric of the KKK, and so on forever. People are not buying it. No matter what you say this movement is alive and kicking. Even without the MSM exposure or influence; we are still having a massive influence in spite of them.

I want you to check these guys out. Their conversation starts to get real around 17:40.

Those against Trump are the only ones getting fooled. Absolutely zero has been done to stop or frustrate the #walkaway movement. Even if it is blocked or banned. That only makes the movement stronger. The ridicule and refusal of open dialog form the left doesn't deter people, it proves them right in their belief that the left doesn't care about them.

Your crowing at the moon. So proud of your false accomplishments you don't even realize it is not yet dawn.

Oh snap, there go my black friends that walked away. Look at their old YouTube videos before Trump was on the scene, they were totally liberals.
