Nonsense! If it was instantaneous he wouldn't have needed to return. He would have just said "Thank you" right then and there. The Greek word for "turned back" is hypestrepsen. Five of the six times it's used in the NT it's translated "returned". (returned to her home, returned from the Jordan, returned to Galilee, got in the boat and returned, returned to Jerusalem ... http://biblehub.com/greek/upestrepsen_5290.htm ). In order to return you have to travel a certain distance, and that requires the passing of time unless you have a Star Trek transporter or something.

How close does Immediately have to be before you will understand Instantaneously, the very split second,.....comon really?

"Amend" means "to improve". "Began to amend" means "began to improve". An hour is sixty minutes. So if you're willing to take your blinders off, this passage says that the boy began to improve within the same sixty minute time frame that Jesus gave the word. So no, it wasn't instantaneous. Miraculous? Yes. Instantaneous, no.

Where have I said that I water down or disguard any of what is found in scripture?

In this thread I dispute that we must be healed, not that God can heal.

Effectively Jesus healed instantly, as the royal offical discovered the son was healed the very hour that Jesus spoke.

You're wasting my time. The point was proven. "Amend" means "mend", which involves the passing of time. "Began to amend" means the process of mending commenced, ergo ... not instantaneous or immediate.

So when was the guy fully healed a week later, or maybe not at all, because he didn't demonstrate his faith?

What you reading really in't that hard to understand, the mending in this case means, as soon as Jesus spoke the words, he was healed, the people recounting this to the master, used the word amend meaning healed.

Really how many of your congragation are sick, disabled or suffering mental illness?

Or have they simple left the church because they haven't been healed and the congragation is putting it down to their, the sick , lack of faith.

Of course you do not have any medical insurance either.

I have attended many prayer meetings for those sick in our church, some for people I have no memory of them ever being fit, healthy people.
A great many prayers have been said for these people.
Yet God chose not to heal them.


God is soverirgn he determines what happens not us.

I find it very revealing that when asked about unhealed people you tell me of healings, and not of those who have lived for years with life threatening conditions and are still living with this condition.
Tell me how does your church care for such people?
