Last night as Oklahoma had a heat burst at midnight and in the Mideast temperatures stayed 108 for 24 hours , alarms went off.

Many have had many die the last 6 weeks from heat in Canada and around the world. satan's number one job is to use whatever he can to take our eyes off God. You cant even talk about hot temperatures without some get so angry their temperatures rises. Money and politics are satan's favorite tools.

We are seeing God's time , Mercy and Grace in all this if we don't allow satan to blind us. When Africa is setting heat records and we see 110 degrees on the coast of California or 90 degree waters in the Gulf of Mexico , we might want to read 2 Peter and remember how all this ends...

It has been August temps here in South Florida as well. But so far no hurricanes
With the heat of course comes horrific thunderstorms... I got hail yesterday...but no tornado... however THAT was to the west of me... glad they tend to travel NE and it missed me (wasn't on ground long fwik).

While I have put a few electrical items upon the van, I am prepared to go it without. Heat is a huge issue though... cold, well... we've done cold and very cold. Nice to have a dog under the blankets even if it's a 3 dog night!

But heat? whew! I know it will be hot at Disney this Saturday ...in the park especially. I never go on my birthday, even when it was free I didn't, because it is stiffling! I'm not a fish, never learned to breathe hot water.

So... I have roll down screens I made for the van doors...but it blocks half of any breeze... I can keep the poodle sheared down close enough where he won't get sunburned and will be able to feel any breeze... I have hand fans (Go Dolphins) from a superbowl... nice big ones that move a lot of air (but hands won't last long)...

But yea, heat when camping/boondocking has me concerned.

I have an old map of a route to take throughout the USA to try and stay in the 72 degree temps but ... IDK it probably isn't accurate for the changing temps we've had since it's inception. ANYONE find a current one please post it up for me?

I generally don't go west until winter... and had thoughts of going northwest territory next summer... :prayer:

Western NC in the mountains has stayed in the mid-80s. We had had a lot of rain too. I live in the Nantahala National Forest, so our trees and the mountains protect us, I think.

Praying for all of you!

Midlands of South Carolina has been up and down. Last few days were relatively cool... mid 80s. Now it is back up to 95 feels like 101. Power bill was up to $245 as we run 4 air conditions during the day and 2 at night. 1 in the bedroom and 1 in the prep room.
I am surprised how well the garden is taking it. Usually the tomatoes and peppers are drooping in this weather. As long as I keep them watered they stay perky. The cucumbers are giving out after a solid month of 5 and 6 nice ones every day. The okra is liking the heat and our little 6x6 bed is giving us a good sized handful every day. Tomatoes are doing ok... we have been fighting stink bugs on the tomatoes and the peppers. The summer squash finally gave it up... mostly due to those nasty vine borers. Winter squash is doing ok. Maybe a half dozen on 3 vines. 8 watermelons on 3 vines. Finally seeing some cantaloupe on 2 vines.
After several years trying to grow Jerusalem Artichoke it looks like we finally have a crop. Full sun in the morning with shade in the hot afternoon. Water them if they look droopy. Put a grape vine in the ground today. A second fig tree will go in the ground tomorrow. Only 5 of our 8 blueberry bushes made it.. and they are struggling. Maybe the wrong species. Potatoes have been growing like crazy since May... but no potatoes! Dug one up the other day expecting to find some nice new potatoes... no dice. We will leave the rest until August and then have another look.
