I have reason to believe so but its personal and I won't go into it. The little research I have done suggests that there is a mis-translation where Jesus refers to the Holy Spirit as "he" in a passage. Thoughts?

God is neither male nor female but He chooses to express himself in masculine terms to communicate headship.

It doesn't matter. This isn't what we should be focusing on as Christians. There are people dying from war and starvation right this very second. What's more important right now?

Than why are you here wasting your time and not out there helping? The forum is a place for discussing things.

I thought this forum is a place for discussing Christianity, The Gospel and God. Not things that have NOTHING to do with it. I have seen a lot of posts on this subject and the only reason I responded was to point out that, when it comes to your eternal life, THIS WILL NOT HELP YOU. We are supposed to hold each other accountable and guide each other when we are falling away from the core purpose of Christianity.

That was my only purpose in responding.

And not that it matters, but I am involved in a few different out reach programs that help the homeless, elderly and hungry children. I am not special for that, but I am not wasting my time.

Yet here you are whining on an internet forum when you could be out giving all you have to the poor.

lol because I didn't just state that I work with the homeless, elderly, or hungry children.

Dude, seriously, no clue what I did to get you on my back, but please hop off. I do what I can to help my community and further, so don't try to say things like you know what I do on a daily basis. I didn't do anything to you so quit trying to put me down for everything I say.

Focus on starvation, war and death! Got it. lol.

I didn't say that. My point was that of all of the things Christians should be discussing and working on, God's gender isn't it.

God's gender is certainly an apt topic for the "General Theology" forum. Don't like it? Move along.

The earliest known artistic portrayal of the Trinity is a well-preserved fourth century mosaic. God the Father, as you might expect, is depicted as a white bearded old patriarch. Jesus, surprisingly enough, is pictured as a clean-shaven, short-haired man in a Roman style short toga. The Holy Spirit is portrayed as a very comely but modestly dressed young woman. I suspect that this reveals the close connection between Sophia / Wisdom in the late Old Testament and the emerging idea of the Spirit of God in the New Testament.
