This is an article I started reading, I still need to finish reading it. It is something I find edifying to me, perhaps you will find it encouraging as well?

https://bible.org/seriespage/lesson-21-patient-endurance-james-510-11

Reading your thread on here have been encouraging to me, as well as many of the responses in here, since I too are going through trials and tribulations which are also spiritual attacks, and I know how easy it is easy to feel alone sometimes. But I keep on reminding myself that I am not alone, God is with me! And Jesus Christ goes before me, fighting my battles!

This is a time where the wheat is getting visible through all of the tares, the wheat are growing more forth in every field in the world. The tares will try stopping this, but nothing can hinder the wheat's growth when they stay fixated on their Lord Jesus Christ! The Great Harvest is near!

I was told by another dear brother in Christ, that when you feel like there is no support around you, and feel alone, this may be that God wants you to fully depend on Him alone! Even people we consider as near to us can sometimes hurt and disappoint us, but Jesus Christ will never disappoint us nor fail us! God can use others to support and build us up in our faith, yet we should never depend on them fully, but on God alone! Because only He is fully faithful and trustworthy!

I am so touched by your last posts in here, it is a true joy seeing that you are a true servant of the Lord and to the people around you! You are also a true disciple of Jesus Christ, something which should give you great joy! "For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building."
(1 Corinthians 3:9)

Doing God's Will and doing the work He has set before you is what should give you the most joy! You said everything get's forgotten when you bring someone to salvation in Jesus Christ? This is a real joy for both you, the Father, and Jesus Christ. As this life's sufferings and pain is just temporary, and many souls are bound by the chains of darkness. Many souls have the stamp of death on their foreheads, if they are not brought to salvation, they will be walking on the path of destruction.

What love would we have within us if we wouldn't care for their salvation? Your life is already secured in Christ Jesus, theirs are not! So this is why we shouldn't worry about what happens to us on this earth, because we will be together with God for all of eternity when we leave this world behind us. But those who aren't secured in Jesus Christ, when they are not truly saved they are all destined to perish!

God bless your precious heart, dear brother! I will keep you in prayer!

Much Love in Christ Jesus! :holy:

ARE YOU SERIOUS????

Indeed I am. I have found that those that are indoctrinated in their belief tend to be less equipped to handle the "real world" and the problems and troubles we go through. I don't believe that everything little thing we go through in life has to have some deep rooted meaning or that God is always testing us. I think that we share a space with 7.5 billion other people and sometimes other people's lives affect and effect our own. God doesn't have to always test us when we can test each other, whether its directly or indirectly.

Eph 6:12
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms...
I thank God I am indoctrinated in my faith.
Luke 12:51 Do you think I came to bring peace on earth? No, I tell you, but division.
Matthew 10:34
Do not assume that I have come to bring peace to the earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.
1 Cor 2:11 in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes.
Rev 20:10 in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes.
I could go on with many more scriptures but my point that some are in "ostrich position" so get your head out of the sand or wherever it is stuck and know that we are in a battle...

Comfort might not be a good place for a christian.
Rev 3:16 So, because you are lukewarm--neither hot nor cold--I am about to spit you out of my mouth.

I read this yesterday and found it helpful:

The Tormented Soul
Some people feel deeply tormented in the depths of their souls. Sometimes this is caused by sin, sometimes it is caused by a special Mercy of God which enables the soul to experience the sufferings Jesus went through. Whatever the case may be, if you encounter any torment, whatsoever, in the depths of your soul, know that you have a special right to the Mercy of God. Why do you have this “right” to Mercy? Not because you deserve it; rather, because God wishes to bestow it. The greater your suffering the greater your right to the Mercy of God. For that reason, do not be afraid to run to God in your misery and pain. Do not be afraid of any form of rejection from God. The soul that suffers is dearer to Him than any other (See Diary #1146).

The term “tormented soul” is powerful language. But it’s also very honest language, describing the experience of many people. So many people feel this deep interior torment, especially on account of their sins. They feel dry, alone and trapped in this cycle of pain. If this is you in any way, reflect upon the truth that God offers you a right to His Mercy more than any other. He chooses you as His special object of compassion and lavishes upon you more than you could ever ask for. Let yourself grow in confidence as you seek the Mercy of God and allow it to penetrate every torment you feel, no matter the cause, even if it comes from your sin.

I play tankionline < blush > and my game name is quite Christian. The non-Christian tankers (people who are playing) will forget the goal of the battle and seek out my tank to shoot... just because ...and they also chat some nasty things at times. I chat back God Loves You (and sometimes I add "anyway") Most of the battle tankers read the chat...and when it isn't just for your own team but to all, well I do receive feedback. Once I was so angry because my tank kept being wiped out by the same enemy tanker who happened to be moslem, I typed GOD LOVES YOU BUT I DON'T RIGHT NOW! and most of the players laughed. :)

The person that got me into the game, when he asked and found out what name I had chosen said, 'Oh they're gonna come after you." Yep. They do... just because I'm Christian. Is this horrific persecution? No, of course not. But it is tough because they do ignore the battle just to get me instead. Hatred abounds. Do I continue because it's a testimony? Yes! And other Christian tankers confide in private to me in regular chat that they are Christians too and appreciate my stand. Now I have no idea what they are going through in life. This is a worldwide game (out of Russia)...

But why the hatred? Why are people everywhere so open to countering our faith? What does it change in their lives for us to have our faith? You see, it isn't really us. It's GOD --a "God thing"-- the very testimony of the existence of God convicts them of their sin.

God says that He put the knowledge of His existence inside each creation... everyone knows, in their second brain (the gut folks), that there IS a God...regardless of what they vocalize. They fight against something they say they don't believe in because of that gnawing inside them. Their battle is not really against us. It's against God.

I haven't fully thought about those who say there's no such thing as persecution, or that they have never experienced it. I think someone else already described their plight?

God says those that live Godly WILL SUFFER PERSECUTION.

We know that there are many who hide their faith, in the world, hidden because of the persecution. Is that living Godly? I'm not judging it, I leave that one to God Himself.

IRL people used to come up to me and "admire" my faith... how they couldn't continue like I do with all that occurs to me etc. I don't say this to boast because I am not very "perfect" except through Christ, whom strengthens me.

We must continue to stand.

I recently ran across the photo of those... 16? men beheaded for Christ. The ones on the beach in the orange clothes. You know the back story to that? All but one was outward professing Christian. The last one in line was a moslem they had caught for something "bad". As the murderers went down the line, asking each Christian to deny their faith and they refused and were beheaded... seems that moslem at the end took note. When they came to him to repent, he refused and told them (I'm paraphrasing somewhat here) not only would he not repent but having seen all the men before him witness for and strongly confess their faith in Jesus, He too was accepting Jesus. Of course, they beheaded him too.

I don't know if I will be that strong. We see how I crumble at times... but this is against the little, day to day persecutions building upon the previous attacks.

I know this is a long post.... but I know from the ongoing persecutions that when I run into a big one I can say, Oh Lord! This is big! May I stand before your throne in favor.

My soul wait thou only, only upon God For from him is my expectation

My soul wait thou only, only upon God For from Him is my expectation
chorus: He is my defense I shall not be moved He is my defense I shall not be moved (repeat)

My Messiah only, He only is my rock, And the horn of my salvation

Yes, my Yeshua only, He only is my rock, And the horn of my salvation
(chorus)

I see the back row christians that are true to church every Sunday and Wed but never seem to have any "trials" or problems of any kind.
Soooooo I am etheir doing something really good, Or something really bad because I have been hit hard the last two years.. lol
It seems if I look at it, It breaks, If I speak to it, It rebells, If I love it it leaves. Arrrggghhh

I believe this is spiritual warfare and if it is, Then why are "all" the others not getting this as well? I know those of us who are and many who never have been "hit"

This takes me back to my post about that place of perfection and I think we all pretty much agree that our righteousness comes from and through Jesus Christ and nothing of us..
So now is there a place that James 4:7 really ever happens?
There has to be or else it wouldn't be in the bible, So WHY can't I seem to get there??? lol

In your first paragraph, you see back row pew warmers who may or may not be Christian. Why, if they hunger for edification do they sit as far from it as they can get? You assume they have no trials or problems. This is a false automatic thought brought on by cognitive disassociation. What I mean is, you assume something to be real based on automatic negative thoughts, which start in the subconscious mind and are not even based on reality. They seem real to you after a while, but they are not... they are specters... ghost thoughts, and are not real.

Also, you assume you are doing good or bad, which results in you being hit hard by something, whether psychological or spiritual. Either one is possible, maybe both. You are assuming everything you do now turns to garbage. This too is another automatic negative thought, which has no merit or basis in fact. To combat the negative thoughts, first analyze how much you believe them to be true. Next, think of positive thoughts which directly oppose the negative ones and analyze how much you believe in them. You will probably start out believing the negatives more than the positives, but keep doing this mental exercise. Make your thinking go into self-test mode every time your emotions go wonky like they apparently are doing.

As to the other two paragraphs, keep your eyes on the mark, for there is only one who wins the prize. Keep your eyes on Jesus. Remember how Jesus lamented over Jerusalem because they would not receive Jesus and He lamented this fact. Lamentations might be a good book to read.

My mental exercises are borrowed from a psychology called Cognitive Therapy, and it is quite effective, and no drugs are needed for this therapy alone. You do God's work and Satan hates that. Of course he's going to give you a bad time. He is evil and is damned. I don't think it is possible to wreck everything you touch without doing so deliberately. You just think you do, but that is a false conclusion based on false, negative automatic subconscious thoughts, which you need to clear out as I have described. I had this therapy and it works.

If you find it necessary, see a professional psychologist, preferably secular, who uses this technique. Why secular? You know you are dealing with a non believer. When someone says they are Christian, you can't be sure until you spend time to test the spirits and their fruits. You are in a compromised position right now, and may not be in a good place to handle that. Use faith-filled Scriptural thoughts all the time. You may even witness to the therapist. Preach the word. Be instant in season, out of season. Reprove, rebuke, and exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. When we do this, we are lifted up by the power of God. God bless, and I hope I have been of help to you.

Secular psychologist? I won't even see one! They intertwine Eastern religion with their "cognitive behavior therapy" and if you're already questioning things, you might miss their input of ill. (Though your reasoning has a valid point, in general, I agree.)

I have found that you just have to try the Spirit. Many consults are free ...and you will know if they won't work out the first note... whether they will or not depends...

But then, ALL of God's Word is cognitive behavior therapy! He wrote the Book on it, can we agree? :D

My masters was a layman's guide to using Proverbs for counseling. Scotty, I know you know your Bible well enough.... you need to be heard and know someone is listening... and I'm sure the Chaplains here are great! Keeping our mind focussed on God, along with encouragement as we all give each other here... it'll straighten out.

You are grieving of course. Those stages of grief as I posted long ago do not come in order, nor do they always come one at a time... the anger and the disbelief, the acceptance and numbness... and any combo of them all can hit you.

When you get to that dark place... be gentle with yourself and hear God say, "I know about loss in death. Be still. You're grieving. It won't last forever."

27. “Through You we will push back our adversaries, through Your name we will trample down those who rise up against us.” Ps. 44:5

28. “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Josh. 1:9

29. “For You have girded me with strength for battle; You have subdued under me those who rose up against me.” Ps. 18:39

30. “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust. Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart…” Ps. 91:1-4

31. "This is what the Lord says to you: 'Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God's." 2 Chron. 20:15

When we belong to Christ, the enemy never has the final word over our lives. We are secure in God's hands.

Press on – courageous and free – never held back by fear or defeat. The battle belongs to the Lord, and He has the final victory...

Mikey likey. :D

This one especially:

27. “Through You we will push back our adversaries, through Your name we will trample down those who rise up against us.” Ps. 44:5

AND I like these verses also!

Matthew 5:11-13 King James Version (KJV)
11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

31 Spiritual Warfare Scriptures to Read, Pray, and Memorize:
1. "Submit yourselves to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." James 4:7

2. "You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world." 1 John 4:4

3. "For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." 2 Cor. 10:3-5

4. "Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith." 1 Pet. 5:8-9

5. "No weapon that is formed against you will prosper; and every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their vindication is from Me," declares the Lord." Is. 54:17

6. "Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God." Eph. 6:11-17

7. "In all these things, we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us." Rom. 8:37

8. "But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." 1 Cor. 15:57

9. "Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,' says the Lord of hosts." Zech. 4:6

11. “Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.” Luke 10:19

12. “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” John 10:10

13. "Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven."Matt. 18:18-19

14. “The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before you. They shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways.” Deut. 28:7

There has to be or else it wouldn't be in the bible, So WHY can't I seem to get there??? lol

Hi Scotty

Still Feeling for you mate but want to encourage you and strengthen you.

Spend some time with God and get some refreshing - you might want to ask for some Spiritual Discernment or other spiritual gifts - they do make all the difference. The mention of you getting word from a visiting speaker is something else but you need to be able to do that yourself since you are on your own out there.

You wouldn't believe all of my testimony even if I told you.

I've had a close encounter with the enemy - and I mean close encounter of the personal kind. This happened right after becoming christian & I was personally hit with the mother of all spiritual smart bombs. It was a mind f*** of epic proportions. It took me out and nearly cost me my life. Fortunately , I was healed/ filled with God's Spirit several weeks later and lived to tell the tale.

I did get a good answer from God as to what happened to me - it was a personal dream with a supernatural element in it just to confirm it. A Personal letter from God to keep me going. What I experienced was beyond understanding or comprehension and I had been total broken just as I had become a Christian. Rightfully, I had questions to ask as I was supposed to have a good life when I said yes to Jesus.

That one event set me back years - it was a place of training / learning in the Spiritual realms and depending on God. Even though I was personally safe - the enemy sets out to intimidate. Other family members started getting attacked who weren't quite as safe as me. We had quite a few dramatic moments and had one or two healing's as a result of those encounters but it was still a awful experience to go through.

Then more subtle attack came - personally aimed at getting you to sin or getting relationships to struggle or cause divisions in church. These are the worst kind - not detected - not open warfare but stealthy and silent aimed at breaking your relationship with God. It's not quite the experience I expected as a christian - I was hoping to live a carefree life having it easy - keep my head low and just breeze through life - live to a ripe old age.

CONCLUSION

2 CHRONICLES 20:15
This is what the LORD says: Do not be afraid! Don't be discouraged by this mighty army, for the battle is not yours, but God's.
