Okay, But in fairness, I studied Psychology a little bit. And My response would be in the category of Automatic programming or Programmed response.

My immediate reaction would be, " Pretty good and you? " But with that being a programmed response, I am likely to say that on the worst possible day ever.
I found a long time ago, to determine my overall feelings and well being. Whenever I am asked that question I say "I'm GRRREATE" just like Tony the Tiger, it's standing against that Darkness, and everything that comes with it,
it's a simple thing to do but it does make you feel better, and if you do it every time, you do feel better,
I have actually had people say no nobody feels great all the time, but you will find it is possible.
You could also do battle with the adversary over what you are experiencing.
