At our Life in the Spirit Seminar, 50+ Catholics were prayed over for the Baptism in the Holy Spirit this week. Pray for an outpouring of the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Is it within some Charismatic Catholic church?

Father, regardless of the division over the debate of how the Holy Spirit is acquired, or regarding what the "baptism of the Holy Spirit" is, I pray for these dear souls, that they will have the Holy Spirit to indwell them through faith in Christ as Savior and Lord, according to the truth of Your written Word, and that they will come to know You and Your Word more intimately, and walk in fellowship with You. Amen.

This is a regular Catholic parish. We are doing a seminar on the Holy Spirit for Lent. The Charismatic renewal began in the Catholic Church in 1967. It is a movement within, not separate from the Church.

I thought the Holy Spirit was given through baptism / charism / confirmation?
The Holy Spirit is given through baptism / charism / confirmation, but some do not have the gifts, fruits, and charisms of the Holy Spirit active within them. We are stirring these gifts up so they become active.
For example, I was confirmed when I was 10 years old. the gifts were not active in me until I became involved in the Charismatic renewal when I was 27.

Very interesting. Thank you for clarifying.
