I know this might sound ridiculous, but here goes.

The first thing that comes into your head, the thing you always answer when someone says that to you.....What is it?

i at one time for many months suffered horribly with weird anxiety ... it was intense ,i cant describe to anyone whose not known it.
Doctors want me togo(on meds but God told me to cancel the appoinment.some months later some folks from the last reformation prayed for me and cast devils out.
after that i have not had that problem any more,that was some years back

I found a long time ago, to determine my overall feelings and well being. Whenever I am asked that question I say "I'm GRRREATE" just like Tony the Tiger, it's standing against that Darkness, and everything that comes with it,
it's a simple thing to do but it does make you feel better, and if you do it every time, you do feel better,

I have actually had people say no nobody feels great all the time, but you will find it is possible.

You could also do battle with the adversary over what you are experiencing.

Eph 6:10-18
10) Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11) Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

Jesus commanded us to drive out Devils.
iv experienced it and prayed for quite a number and seen devils come out .

im not referencing some deliverence ministry,there is no such thing scripturally.
Its all encapuslated in the Gospel.
freedom from sin ,then from the devils infulences is always via the Gospel instructions.
repent
be baptised
recieve the HolySpirit
go learn(to doas jesus did and learn(tolive a holy life in that newlife.

casting out devils without a persons repentance and without oneself living a life Right before God is just houscleaning for devils.

i'm sure you probably have but maybe ask God for discernment specifically regarding that darkness you referred to. so that then you will know if it is a spiritual thing that needs dealing with or if it is a byproduct of living in a fallen world that does have its darkness that we all need to live with.
That way you will know how best to address it because God has let you know what it is.

I dont honestly think all depression or even mental illness is related to demons. Jeremiah had some serious issues, but he was demon possessed or even influenced. King David wrote some of the saddest Psalms but he was a man after Gods own heart.

God may have actually put something on your heart that causes us to intense grief to lead us in a direction. I have some major issues with depression currently and I can tell you my issues stem from knowledge that I have received over some things and it causes me grief.

You dont need to be delivered from something every time you sigh or get emotional. Just pray about it, seek Yahweh and let his Spirit comfort you and lead you in whatever direction that leads

So you dont think Jeremiah was depressed knowing his country was being destroyed? Or that David wasn't depressed writing some of his Psalms?

Depression is not always without meaning or explanation.

long term .... depression has no logical sense to it at all ..it is spiritual, David starts many of his psalms expressing the low notes of his situation. he ends them rejoicing in hope . he does not remain focused on the negative . he constantly renews his mind .he did not suffer long term depression .
he does not remain in a woe is me state ,he changes his mind and rises up out of that state .
It is when a person cannot do so that we KNOW there is another factor at play and that factor is demonic and NO amount of DRUGS will solve it .they are not free to simply lift themselves out of the hole something is chaining them in the hole,the drugs may zombify the person into a non feeling state and alleviate symptoms ,poison the body with many chemicals and put them, already in a prison ,into solitary confinement in that prison ,which is EXACTLY what the devils want to happen because they came to kill steal and destroy . The drugs are MANs carnal methods of this world . we are not of this world .
due to the nature of medications a person must consult their medical adviser about weaning off meds even after deliverance . But we have seen this occur and the people get free of BOTH the depression anxiety and the meds .
having a few low days of depression is easily overcome by most people and even easier for those with the Holy Spirit .. resist the devil and he will flee from you .

Depression, like other maladies can be from any one or more of a variety of physical, psychological or spiritual causes.

Isa To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”

The spirit in this verse is NOT a demon, but a mindset. Praise is the most powerful tool we have for depression.

define the meaning of the word Spirit in Hebrew and translated to English .
The OIL of joy speaks of the holy Spirit .. the beauty speaks of the salvation of god who is Jesus .
all healing is spiritual . Jesus spoke a word of life and they were healed . how is that NOT spiritual .
the world spirit wants us to be unbelievers in the truth of the word of God and the power of the authority in the name of Jesus ,if the enemy can get us believing the person needs medication and world help then he can stop us from praying the prayer of faith and the person will remain enslaved . this is the very reason the churches see so few healing . its called Unbelief and the source of the unbelief is to take on the worldly mindset IN PLACE OF the word of God .-let not the double minded think he will receive ANYTHING of the lord .

you see you immediately said .. the "SPIRIT" (of heaviness) is "NOT" a demon ....
there is absolutely NO WAY you have the authority to say that, for I KNOW that for me it absolutely was a demon and when it god cast out from me the heaviness ,depression and anxieties all went out too ..

infirmity (sickness ) of body ? no .. infirmity of SPIRIT .. there are no physical remedies for a spiritual sickness .. and what physical ailment can effect the spirit ..? none its a spiritual cause effecting the spiritual. and it can and does later manifest in a physical illness . this is why as it is written .. they bought many sick to him and he cast out devils and they were healed . healing both physical and spiritual is spiritual

That is not to say that demonic oppression cannot be involved with depression. But all depression does not have demonic roots.

1 Thess 5:11 Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.

Romans 14:19 Therefore let us pursue the things which makefor peace and the things by which edify another.

Fellowship with other believers needs to be edifying and lifting. That helps prevent depression.

ok lets think that through . which part of "depression" the diabolical opposite to the fruits of the Holy Spirit .. comes from God ? whichever way you look at it ..sin will be behind it (the persons or a sin against the person /both) and no sin originates in God for he is light and in him is NO darkness nor shadow of turning .

..it can BUT , true fellowship in the holy Spirit exercises the attributes of the holy Spirit ,one of those being discernment of spirits , thus the people one is fellowship are able to discern what it really going on and kick that spirit out and release the person from that bondage OR lead them to repentance of the sin that is causing them to be self loathing and depressed - fellowships that don't move in the power of the Holy Spirit are not worth anything in the kingdom of God because of they are powerless and already defeated . Find a new group to fellowship with .
recently my wife went into a low emotional state and it was quite out of character for her ... so we prayed and the lord delivered her because she was being attacked spiritually after prayer she was quite the oppisite full of the joy of the lord . we are in a warzone - dont let the enemies spies tell us its not the enemies fault .
