Actually, I believe God brought in the prosperity doctrine to counteract the false "poor is good, rich is bad" mentality. Like the swinging of a pendulum. There are many truths in it. However, it got perverted to where we are the master, and God is our servant. But for myself, God always provides, based on:
3 John 1:1
2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. 3 For I rejoiced greatly when brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, just as you walk in the truth. 4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.
The first time I heard it, it was still from God, and it was on healing. Kenneth Hagin Sr. had a marvelous testimony. In fact, healing was the main subject ever since John G. Lake. But, seeing as the love of money is the root of all evil, this teaching became the Christian lottery, but with the extortionists being the rich; those false teachers living in luxury off their poor congregants, and building empires to themselves.

Huge huge difference between Gods abundant providence of all our needs (which are Only guaranteed to those who seek first His Kingdom and righteousness ) and the abounding covetousness of prosperity teaching though.
a person ii never more rich then when In Christ alone .
how can a person in christ who ,no matter where they are ,have clothes and food and bed provided, be called poor ?
while the billionaire can crash his jet in a wilderness and die of hunger.
the one in Christ can be fed of ravens And live eternally.
no there is no poverty in Christ,but what some deem to be poverty is no poverty at all.
and what some deem to be wealth,is No wealth at all

I believe Joseph Prince to be a servant of God, though I don't agree with everything he teaches. One shouldn't criticize a servant of God. He is someone who God uses to seek after the black sheep of the family. These black sheeps cannot keep the law and need a gentle approach from God, and God uses men like Joseph Prince to bring them into the kingdom of God.

where is this example in scripture ..the apostles always preached the same Gospel unchanging ..it involves repentance from sin and DEATH to self to live in Christ ..is states that EVERYONE who seeks to live righteously WILL suffer persecution . Thats quite A DIFFERENT GOSPEL to the one J prince teaches .

Isn't poverty part of death, isn't it a curse that came in because of man's sin...Jesus saves
...you will never think that YOU might be persecuting Joseph Prince or at least criticising him.

they like to hear things pleasing to their ears but when truth is spoken you may recall they left Jesus in droves . and no poverty is not a part of death at all . it is what we go though as we learn to be content where ever the lord Leads us because truth wealth is Christ himself .. absolutely nothing to do with the things of this temporal earth . Jesus our Lord ( and no one can call him lord unless they do as he says )displayed a life of obedience to god in fullness -where was his riches ? perhaps he needed to attend a Joseph prince seminar to learn how to fleece the sheeps pockets

If He needed a boat He got boat, if He needed a donkey He got donkey, He had heaven's supply...that's rich.
Today if the preacher needs and aeroplane he can have it, cross the oceans to preach the gospel.
I'm like those disciples who never went away I say "where would I go Lord?" after more than 40 years of being joyfully saved.
What else you got?

very easy - God did not give them an airplane - they coerced off the backs of gullible (and covetous people)
Many people say oh im a Christian look how god has blessed me i have a nice house and car a profitable income etc ... and then right next door there is a bigger house with a flasher car and a bigger income and the guy is watching inappropriate content on TV while drinking and his partner is not his wife , so has god also blessed his sin ? no because neither got it from God .
they both went to work and enjoyed a reaping from what they sowed . Material blessing is NOT and never was a measure of gods blessing . And for all their jet flying they don't preach the gospel , they preach motivational speeches and they reproduce themselves , not Christ.

So one is prospering to the glory of God and using what God has given wisely while the other is stealing from the Creator and using the wealth of this planet which God created for wicked purposes.

reap abundantly of the things of this world ..and you have them here in this world -and when eternity comes you will have absolutely nothing and what you thought you had will be taken from you and given to those who have stored up spiritual treasure in heaven ..

I watch his sermons on TV....not all the time but he does a lot study in the Hebrew and Greek when discussing his sermon topic so that you can actually understand the meaning in its original language.
His ministry reaches thousands of people and hundreds get saved through the preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

I don't agree that JP is simply merchandising...there are certainly those who do. But I would be very circumspect in judging people's motives.
Would you criticise Billy Graham [the late servant of God?] would you criticise Christian Forums? they ask for money but don't promise the blessing...things cost money.
And oh boy what can be wrong with mega church? must church consist of just a few grey heads? Jesus had mega church...CH.Spurgeon, Wesley had mega church.
I remember when John Lennon made that foolish remark about the Beatles being more popular than Jesus, I was a paperboy and a fan of the Beatles. But the headlines for that day was stolen by Billy Graham showing the huge crowds attending his Wembley crusade.
