I would like to study on the whip, and the buyers and sellers in John 2:15 in relation to Revelation and the OT.
7752 showt shote from 7751; a lash (literally or figuratively):--scourge, whip
Nahum 3:2
A sound of a Whip/שׁוֹט (showt)<7752>, and sound of a quaking wheel, and horse galloping, and chariot leaping.
A horseman mounting. And blazing sword, and flashing spear,
and many wounded and mass of corpses and there is no end to bodies. [Isaiah 28 "scourge"]
The word for whip, #5416, is used only 1 time in the NT:
5416. phragellion frag-el'-le-on neuter of a derivative from the base of 5417; a whip, i.e. Roman lash as a public punishment:--scourge.
John 2:
14 and He found in the Temple those selling oxen and sheep and doves, and the money-changers sitting, [Luke 19:45]
15 and having made a whip/fragellion<5416> of small cords, He put all forth out of the Temple, also the sheep, and the oxen; and of the money-changers he poured out the coins, and the tables he overthrew,
I will continue on the next post.
