Hello friend!
Let's start with fear over going to hell:
Matthew 7:23
And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice iniquity!’
See, Christianity isn't about a set of rules and "doing this and that" to earn a spot in heaven; it's about having a relationship with the Living God. It's about knowing Him, being intimate with His Holy Spirit which transforms lives, gives you a pure perspective, and the mind of Christ. Salvation, for those who know of Christ either through His church or His Word, is as simple as truly believing.
Matthew 7:21
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
John 6:29
Jesus answered them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent."
Romans 10:9-10
"...that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For
with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Truly believing comes with trusting in who He is, that He wants everyone to be saved (Ezekiel 33:11, Ezekiel 18:23 Isaiah 45:22, 1 Timothy 2:3-4, 2 Peter 3:9, many others), and that He is just, but not only is He just but that His mercy trumps over judgement (James 2:13), that He sees all and wants the best for every single one of His children. If you can love others, you better believe the Love Himself and the Father-Of-All has greater love. If you can spot an injustice and see certain things, you better believe the One-Who-Sees-All also sees it and beyond, if you think a certain judgement wouldn't be wise or righteous, better believe Wisdom Himself has it covered.
2 Timothy 1:7
"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind."
Once through understanding of truth you have confidence to approach God and experience the ineffable love that He has towards humanity, and how just and merciful He is, a great peace comes over you and your worries are put to rest through knowing the truth; because His Presence is peace. Just the fact that this kind of fear is not of God is enough reason to stop being afraid. There is no torment of fear in love.
1 John 4:18-19
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. We love Him because He first loved us.
John 8:32
"And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
Now, don't misunderstand, there will be people in Hell, but in many ways they will have chosen to be there by their own will and on the day they are judged they will have no excuse. Because God gives every single person a chance, not only a chance but a great mercy and many warnings; either speaking directly through their conscience, leading of the Holy Spirit in many forms, other people, the events that happen, and with those that have the privilege to be in His church and read the Bible, through His Word.
As for the belief of "all unbelievers going to hell: It is true, all unbelievers will go to hell.
But believing in Jesus Christ is not just a "head knowledge", it's not just an information that you learn to keep in your pocket for the last day. Jesus Christ is not just some words written on a dead piece of paper, but He is the Living God who is alive in and through all by His Holy Spirit. I tell you there are those that call themselves Christians that will go to hell, some may have even been to church for 20 years without ever missing a Sunday. This I don't say to scare you but to explain:
Believing in Him is to love Him, to want to know Him, to want to not grieve Him and to respond to His love by offering your heart. See, you can say "I believe" but not have a relationship with God. You can say "I know Jesus" but hate people, cheat on your wife, cast terror onto people around and not even repent from the heart once ; because you haven't spent time with Him. You can say "Christ is my saviour" but your life will tell if you really believed that, if you really do believe the Lord loved you so so much that while you were yet a sinner and in your darkest hour, knowing who you are and what your potential in Him is, He came as a human being leaving behind all His glory, suffered more than anybody ever had and will yet without sin just so He may reclaim His sons and daughters and grant them eternal life, in Life Himself. Believing and seeing His love forces a reaction; a denial of sinful self and a trust in He who has loved to death.
Within this reality, there are unfortunately those that may never have heard of the Gospel as we have; countries where the name of Jesus may not have reached, yet God does not assign people to hell based on where they are born, and not a single one is without a chance given, not a single one is exempt from the mercy of Christ that has covered all through His blood.
Psalms 37:39
But the salvation of the righteous is from the LORD;He is their strength in the time of trouble.
Now here, it doesn't simply mean that some will be saved because they done some good works and thus were righteous even though they never had the chance to know about Christ as we do; yet what the Lord teaches through out the Bible is that He is a Living God, and that He speaks to all people through their conscience, that He has written His law unto the hearts of all men, leads people to Love and mercy by His Holy Spirit, and by the sacrifice of the most holy blood of Jesus, all men have access to the one and only God, Christ Himself; even if they may not have had the chance to know Him by name and "head knowledge", they have the chance to know Him by His Holy Spirit. Thus in this case, those who will be saved are not those that "know His name" yet show their unbelief by going against Him and not loving Him, but those that may not have had the chance to know His name, yet know and believe in Him by the relationship they have with His Holy Spirit, upholding love, mercy and truth, listening to their conscience and repenting through transformation; thus giving a testimony to Christ and His Holy Spirit.
There are many people here in the middle east waking up to dreams where they see Jesus Christ calling out to them. Many testimonies of Holy Spirit talking to people and leading them to find a Bible or a church somewhere somehow. People who see open visions, tangibly feeling the presence of Jesus, having conversations with Him; many different things the Lord does to those who haven't once heard His name, or thought falsely of Him. But these happen with the prayers of people, and the Lord grants them because He is merciful beyond words and wants all of His children to be saved. He has given us to share the Gospel with all, for truly there is not other way to the Father, but through the Son.
1 John 2:2
And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.
I don't know where this wall of text came from, but if nothing remains I would highly suggest these two things:
1. Read the Holy Bible to know Him.
2. Realize that you are called into a relationship with the greatest, most loving Being ever who is your Father, and have communion with Him.
I would also suggest that you watch a few videos of Dan Mohler on youtube, one example:
God bless.
