• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Hello. This is more of a two-parter I suppose. I'm 16 years old and could use some support on certain issues I've been struggling with. I have debilitating anxiety over dying and what's going to happen to me. I'm afraid that I will be sent to hell and God will deny me. I have tried my best to push the anxiety away but it always taunts me.

I'm also struggling with an interpretation of the Bible: non-believers going to hell. I have love even for non-believers and it would cause me great grief if they wound up in such a place. For me, I just can't seem to make sense of such theory. I feel that the Lord is very merciful and loving and wouldn't condemn his children like that. I feel as though you truly have to be full of evil to end up in such a place (serial killers, murderers, terrorists, etc). I hope that I may find others who feel the way I do on this. I don't believe Christ only died for Christians, I believe he died for everyone and God wouldn't deny his children like that. I just want them to have another chance to truly know the Lord for what he is, even after death. I also wish to stop being so obsessive over these things and to find peace. I hope this made sense.

You know, many children at your age have no interest in God, this is admirable! I tell you something, God is calling to you, you have heard His voice, that's why from here your desire for Him.I heard the same call when I was your age, I had the same fears, and believe me, I've made many sins, yet, here I am, still wanting God.My humble advice, be prepared for the future things, your faith will be shaken, but take heart, you are not alone.

Matthew 11:28 ""Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."

If you come to God, He will never deny you.You see, He is calling all of us.Think about all the people from the Bible who made huge mistakes and still, God had his arms wide open for them.Paul was against God and His children, doing many bad things, Peter denied God three times, the thief on the cross. You need to come to Him no matter what how hard life is.

1 Peter 5:7 "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you."

See, leave your anxiety to God, He will deal with it, that's how much He loves you.Jesus came into the world to take all the evil upon Himself, He paid the ultimate price for all of us so that we can be free and be with Him.

2 Peter 3:9 "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."

People are the ones who choose hell, it's their choice, you can't do much if they simply don't care. The free gift of God is available to every single human being, in other words, Jesus came for everyone, not just for christians, it's up to us if we desire God or something else.I still remember the thief on the cross, he should be a model for every single human being, that's all we need to come back to God...

This is why we have the good news, that that doesn't have to be our fate. Jesus died so that those who believe in Him and His promises of eternal life will be saved. We have a sure hope. And that sure hope renews our minds to love others just as Christ loves us.

We are commissioned to share the gospel, the good news with others. Maybe get more acquainted with the gospel in Acts, and let it be motivation to witness. I pray for your peace of mind, and that you are strengthened by by the Word.

Main problem is: whatever we tell you will be no help until you can find the real cause of your anxiety. The fear for death and punition are one of many disguises it takes.

Anyway, Mark 3:28-29 only the sins against the Holy Spirit cannot be forgiven. And this is not the easy kind of error you can do by chance. It takes study and deliberate will to do it.

So preach the gospel then, for the salvation of the souls, other that that don't worry to much.
We're born into this earth alone and we leave it alone, that's the same for all living breathing creature upon the face of the earth.
It's actually quite beautiful, that we're treated so equally with one another. Pharaoh died the same way as his slaves, he too had to go alone as do we.

I may be mentally disturbed for seeing the beauty in this, nevertheless I do.

Anyway, you can preach salvation and you can live a life in Christ so to ensure your own afterlife in Paradise. You have to place your trust in God, that he is truly merciful and just. We have to recognise that our eyes are corrupted by sin and unable to see clearly at times.
Christ our judge sees clearly and will judge us 100 per cent fairly.

What does God do to my dead grandma?
Who am I to second guess and question the justice of our Lord? I'm sure she's in a place where where God in his heaven wants her to be and that's enough for me.

So basically, stop worrying for others bit yourself and don't go into the trap of softening the word of God so to fit your sinful and corrupted eyes. Don't alter one word in scripture, your heart is not the heart of God and sometimes Satan plays on our false sense of mercy in order to take us away from God.

Love God first and then your neighbour as yourself.

Jesus did die for everyone, on that point you are correct. He died a terrible excruciating death so we don't have to be in torment in eternity and it's Gods gift to us. But like any gift we have to receive it and open it up. So see you don't have to go to hell, it isn't about how good you are it is about if you believe or not. The goodness is something we work on with the Holy Spirit after salvation and it will be a lifelong work, that is the change that will take place in you when you accept Jesus as your Lord and savior ( receiving that gift from God). Our peace is in Him and our eternal assurance is with Him.

Your unsaved friends have the same gift placed before them as well but it's up to them to pick it up and open it for themselves. When you know your salvation is secure, peace will be upon you and part of your job will be to tell others as we here are telling you.

The promises of the bible are that Jesus would one day come as savior, that then He did come as savior as described by Holy Scripture and finally that those who believe on Him, that He fulfilled that promise, will be saved. Your sins are forgiven through Him, there is no other way but also no need for any other way, because He is the Way The Truth and The Life. You need to profess that you believe this and tell Him you are trusting Him.

Hello friend!

Let's start with fear over going to hell:

Matthew 7:23
And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice iniquity!’

See, Christianity isn't about a set of rules and "doing this and that" to earn a spot in heaven; it's about having a relationship with the Living God. It's about knowing Him, being intimate with His Holy Spirit which transforms lives, gives you a pure perspective, and the mind of Christ. Salvation, for those who know of Christ either through His church or His Word, is as simple as truly believing.

Matthew 7:21
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.

John 6:29
Jesus answered them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent."

Romans 10:9-10
"...that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Truly believing comes with trusting in who He is, that He wants everyone to be saved (Ezekiel 33:11, Ezekiel 18:23 Isaiah 45:22, 1 Timothy 2:3-4, 2 Peter 3:9, many others), and that He is just, but not only is He just but that His mercy trumps over judgement (James 2:13), that He sees all and wants the best for every single one of His children. If you can love others, you better believe the Love Himself and the Father-Of-All has greater love. If you can spot an injustice and see certain things, you better believe the One-Who-Sees-All also sees it and beyond, if you think a certain judgement wouldn't be wise or righteous, better believe Wisdom Himself has it covered.

2 Timothy 1:7
"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind."

Once through understanding of truth you have confidence to approach God and experience the ineffable love that He has towards humanity, and how just and merciful He is, a great peace comes over you and your worries are put to rest through knowing the truth; because His Presence is peace. Just the fact that this kind of fear is not of God is enough reason to stop being afraid. There is no torment of fear in love.

1 John 4:18-19
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. We love Him because He first loved us.

John 8:32
"And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

Now, don't misunderstand, there will be people in Hell, but in many ways they will have chosen to be there by their own will and on the day they are judged they will have no excuse. Because God gives every single person a chance, not only a chance but a great mercy and many warnings; either speaking directly through their conscience, leading of the Holy Spirit in many forms, other people, the events that happen, and with those that have the privilege to be in His church and read the Bible, through His Word.

As for the belief of "all unbelievers going to hell: It is true, all unbelievers will go to hell.

But believing in Jesus Christ is not just a "head knowledge", it's not just an information that you learn to keep in your pocket for the last day. Jesus Christ is not just some words written on a dead piece of paper, but He is the Living God who is alive in and through all by His Holy Spirit. I tell you there are those that call themselves Christians that will go to hell, some may have even been to church for 20 years without ever missing a Sunday. This I don't say to scare you but to explain:

Believing in Him is to love Him, to want to know Him, to want to not grieve Him and to respond to His love by offering your heart. See, you can say "I believe" but not have a relationship with God. You can say "I know Jesus" but hate people, cheat on your wife, cast terror onto people around and not even repent from the heart once ; because you haven't spent time with Him. You can say "Christ is my saviour" but your life will tell if you really believed that, if you really do believe the Lord loved you so so much that while you were yet a sinner and in your darkest hour, knowing who you are and what your potential in Him is, He came as a human being leaving behind all His glory, suffered more than anybody ever had and will yet without sin just so He may reclaim His sons and daughters and grant them eternal life, in Life Himself. Believing and seeing His love forces a reaction; a denial of sinful self and a trust in He who has loved to death.

Within this reality, there are unfortunately those that may never have heard of the Gospel as we have; countries where the name of Jesus may not have reached, yet God does not assign people to hell based on where they are born, and not a single one is without a chance given, not a single one is exempt from the mercy of Christ that has covered all through His blood.

Psalms 37:39
But the salvation of the righteous is from the LORD;He is their strength in the time of trouble.

Now here, it doesn't simply mean that some will be saved because they done some good works and thus were righteous even though they never had the chance to know about Christ as we do; yet what the Lord teaches through out the Bible is that He is a Living God, and that He speaks to all people through their conscience, that He has written His law unto the hearts of all men, leads people to Love and mercy by His Holy Spirit, and by the sacrifice of the most holy blood of Jesus, all men have access to the one and only God, Christ Himself; even if they may not have had the chance to know Him by name and "head knowledge", they have the chance to know Him by His Holy Spirit. Thus in this case, those who will be saved are not those that "know His name" yet show their unbelief by going against Him and not loving Him, but those that may not have had the chance to know His name, yet know and believe in Him by the relationship they have with His Holy Spirit, upholding love, mercy and truth, listening to their conscience and repenting through transformation; thus giving a testimony to Christ and His Holy Spirit.

There are many people here in the middle east waking up to dreams where they see Jesus Christ calling out to them. Many testimonies of Holy Spirit talking to people and leading them to find a Bible or a church somewhere somehow. People who see open visions, tangibly feeling the presence of Jesus, having conversations with Him; many different things the Lord does to those who haven't once heard His name, or thought falsely of Him. But these happen with the prayers of people, and the Lord grants them because He is merciful beyond words and wants all of His children to be saved. He has given us to share the Gospel with all, for truly there is not other way to the Father, but through the Son.

1 John 2:2
And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.

I don't know where this wall of text came from, but if nothing remains I would highly suggest these two things:

1. Read the Holy Bible to know Him.

2. Realize that you are called into a relationship with the greatest, most loving Being ever who is your Father, and have communion with Him.

I would also suggest that you watch a few videos of Dan Mohler on youtube, one example:

God bless.

I'm afraid that I will be sent to hell

What are you trusting in so that you will not be punished by hell?

Do you trust Jesus when he says that he will never leave you or abandon you?

I feel that the Lord is very merciful and loving and wouldn't condemn his children like that.

Why do you 'feel' that this is correct?
What are the facts?
Do you deserve heaven or hell?
Why do you deserve what you have answered?

What should God do to someone who hates him, who hates everything that God represents?
Pleasenote everyone who is not a christian is an enemy of God, that there 'goodness' does not honour God only themselves.

That's actually insane because I was just thinking about that few minutes ago then saw your post.

First let me tell you what is true and what is not in your text.
non-believers going to hell - true
God loves non-believers - true
Lord is merficul - true
Lord would not condem his children - true but...

They are not his children . Adam was made in image of God then he sin. We are made in image of Adam and in Adam we all sin , we are not made in image of God . Jesus came to restore that relationship God had with Adam .

"you have to be trully evil to end in such place (hell) " - false
God can't have any sin near him , if you lied once you are just as bad as murderer (James 2:10 ) . That's why God said everybody sinned against him and there is not even one who is seeking God or who is good ( Romans 3:10-23 ) .

another chance after death - false
It is appointed to man once to die and after that the judgement . God said man is without excuse and that man knows that God exist but hide the truth because of thier sins which they love to do . Man is surpressing the truth ( Romans 1:18-32) .
If people who never heared the gospel would be going to heaven then sending missionaries to foregin country would be most stupid thing to do because if they heared and rejected the gospel they would be damned , but they could not gain anything because they would be going to heaven by not knowing it or by accepting it . That is not true.
God said they are without excuse and because we know the terror of LORD (2 Corinthians 5:11) we try to get them saved by preaching the gospel to them .

If you have desire to help people then preach the gospel . I'm not sure you know it because you are scared of death but we Christians know that dead in body is present with LORD we can't go to hell . I'll send you the gospel so you can make sure you understand it properly and get rid of that anxiety .
