Of course, and it is as bad as witchcraft.

Yes, it is written that rebellion is as witchcraft:

"For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. " ~I Samuel 15:23

Oh, I get it. You just like playing evil games. Took me a while as I try to see the best. Okay, little boy, I'm ignoring you now. Go ahead and speak all the evil against me to your hearts desire. I won't see it...

If there is any evil or games on this thread, it is not coming from me.

@1stcenturylady - Any idea why Jesus teaches his disciples to continually pray “forgive us our sins”?

To the Jews while Jesus was still living who were under the law, they had no power NOT to sin. If you want to see a Jew's life trying to keep the law in his own carnal nature, read Romans 7. But chapter 8 introduces the Spirit and describes being born of the Spirit - "and you will receive power once the Holy Spirit has come upon you.

You DO realize that you are contradicting yourself here?

Did you have power not to sin when you sinned?

So the Lord’s Prayer, the only prayer that Jesus taught his disciples to pray, is not appropriate for Christians to pray?

When coming to Christ there is no sin too heinous for God to forgive.

But once someone comes to Christ he should no longer pray as Jesus taught?

Here is more light.

15 “Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother. 16 But if he will not hear, take with you one or two more, that ‘by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.’ 17 And if he refuses to hear them, tell it to the church. But if he refuses even to hear the church, let him be to you like a heathen and a tax collector.

18 “Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.

19 “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”

The Parable of the Unforgiving Servant
21 Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?”

22 Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven. 23 Therefore the kingdom of heaven is like a certain king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants. 24 And when he had begun to settle accounts, one was brought to him who owed him ten thousand talents. 25 But as he was not able to pay, his master commanded that he be sold, with his wife and children and all that he had, and that payment be made. 26 The servant therefore fell down before him, saying, ‘Master, have patience with me, and I will pay you all.’ 27 Then the master of that servant was moved with compassion, released him, and forgave him the debt.

28 “But that servant went out and found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii; and he laid hands on him and took him by the throat, saying, ‘Pay me what you owe!’ 29 So his fellow servant fell down at his feet and begged him, saying, ‘Have patience with me, and I will pay you f]">[f]all.’ 30 And he would not, but went and threw him into prison till he should pay the debt. 31 So when his fellow servants saw what had been done, they were very grieved, and came and told their master all that had been done. 32 Then his master, after he had called him, said to him, ‘You wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt because you begged me. 33 Should you not also have had compassion on your fellow servant, just as I had pity on you?’ 34 And his master was angry, and delivered him to the torturers until he should pay all that was due to him.

35 “So My heavenly Father also will do to you if each of you, from his heart, does not forgive his brother his trespasses.”

Let me ask you a question. Does the Father forgive man our sins if we don't repent?

Many are called but few are chosen. Is it our pride telling us that we are saved if we deny this?

Well, what do you say? Are you merely called or do you consider yourself chosen?

And if you consider yourself chosen, is that your pride?

Thank you. These passages helpfully demonstrate that Christian brothers will sin against one another.

No. Repentance is necessary. But repentance is not a one time act for the Christian. It’s something we move deeper and deeper into every day.

Universalism is a heresy. But so is the doctrine that you’re peddling here.

About thirty years ago, during a period that the Lord was doing outright biblical-level miracles in the lives of my wife and me, I tried this little activity:

At the end of my evening prayer each day, I asked the Holy Spirit to walk me through the day, from the moment I woke up to that moment of prayer, and show me each time I made a decision based on my flesh or anything else other than what God would have had me do. I asked the Holy Spirit to point out each time I missed the mark of what God intended for me. Each and every decision, each and every choice, every single time I obeyed some other master but Him.

<sigh> To be honest, I only maintained that activity for a couple of weeks. It was seriously eating into my night's sleep. And it was depressing.

Most people have sin defined as a set of "thou shalt nots" all neat and tidy in a box, and they think that by keeping that box closed, they are "without sin." They think that 99% of their daily activities are "neutral" to God and don't mean anything in their relationship to Him.

But sin is this:

Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey—whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness?

Whatever a person obeyed--whatever has dictated each choice and decision through the course of the day--was his master in that decision. What he chose to put on that day, the breakfast he chose to eat--he obeyed something, and it was either the Lord or it was some other master...most likely his own flesh.

Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.

That is the example: Jesus was in obedience to the Father in every action. Every action, every day.

All ten virgins thought themselves saved, but not all actually were. Many say "Lord, Lord" but are not saved.

That raises questions for ALL of us to consider.

How can you say I'm peddling a doctrine, when I believe what the Word of God says. 1 John 3:9 is very clear, and it has to do with the power of God. If it is foolishness to you, well, I can't help you with that - only the Spirit can.
