I never underestimate God. I just don't take what I think is going to happen to be "a sure thing".
tulc(isn't sure that GirdYourLoins' "feeling led" is something he would make bank on either, no offense meant) :)
No offense taken. To you I am just an anonymous internet user making what may seem like crazy claims and I dont expect you to think any different. But if (when) Kim Jong Un becomes recognised world wide as someone who has done great work for peace we can say what a great God we have.

I'd ah...hold off on sharing that particular "feeling led" with very many people. Have you read this:
The human rights atrocities under Kim Jong-un that were not mentioned during summit
After Kim assumed power six years ago, he has cemented his rule over North Korea with at least 300 executions, at least one study has claimed.

Hyon Yong-chol, a general, was apparently executed with an antiaircraft gun after he fell asleep at a meeting, while a senior official was put before the firing squad for showing a "disrespectful posture".
(emph. added)
I think? People who execute other people for falling a sleep by shooting them with antiaircraft guns have very little to offer in the way of "great works for peace". :sorry:
You might check here also:
The 4 most significant human rights atrocities committed by Kim Jong-un.

Didn't say ''you'' , it's just a fact ..
Oh, I assumed since you posted that in response to something I said (you quoted my post in your post) and I talked about not underestimating God and you then talked about not underestimating that it is was, you know, somehow directed at me. My mistake. :sorry:
tulc(doesn't understand how he could have made that mistake)

I did a post over a month ago saying I had a feeling Kim Jong Un was starting on the path to peace. Here is the link to it.

Kim Jong Un - on the path to peace???

It was a feeling that I think, but am not entirely sure came from God and something I prayed into. The real sense I had about it was that the praise and genuine appreciation he would get from it would appeal to his ego and make him feel god about himself. I dont necessarily thin it is more than that, he just wants to be loved. What it needs is for him to be shown appreciation and love for what he is doing. i even thought about writting a letter to him to say how wonderful I thought he was for starting on the path to peace and I hoped one day he could be remembered as a world leader in the same way Nelso Mandela is (just think hat he would have to do to achieve that, but that is exactly what I felt I should be praying for and I still am.

I now feel what is happening is just the start.
The start to what? Nero wanted to be loved. Hitler wanted to be loved. That didn't change them from being evil killing machines. Jung-il is a sick man who has no qualms in killing anyone that he perceives to be a threat to him, regardless if they are or not. He does not resemble Mandela in the slightest way.

We need to be very leery of this murdering machine. I pray for the No. Korean people as I pray for his soul.

We all are called to pray for unlikely things
I have been praying for Trump to repent but he is still the same old jerk but I will continue to pray for him and all who are oppressed in countries like No. Korea.

A few friends of mine know a pastor in the US personally who was shown on the news with Trump and they have assured me that this pastor says Trump repented and was saved. I cant remember the exact circumstances they said now but this pastor in certain Trump and his wife were saved and they are convinced. I trust their judgement.

If Trump had repented this would have been apparent in his actions but none are shown. He has not asked for forgiveness for all of the terrible things that he says. He keeps on lying and has even increased that habit. His ego still tops all others and we could keep on, and on, and on. . .

Which sort of begs the question: what will you say when they don't happen?

I will say sorry, I was wrong. But so far its looking like things are turning the way I said to some degree at least. A few weeks ago no one would have expected the summit to go ahead but here we are with both sides saying they are committed to denuclearising North Korea.

About the bolded portion: this reminds me of something my dad always told me: "When everything is all said and done, there's always way more said, then done." And I suspect those words are going to sum up this situation as well.
tulc(is having an excellent day of driving here in Chicago)
