The other 2 I have experienced are Gift of Giving and Hospitality.

I listed 29 gifts that are available in a thread titled "misused Gifts' and I notice that you only have 12 in your list above and one of them I dont have.

I find that a couple of Gifts I use all the time in my life. I have even found that ,since understanding gifts and which ones I have, that I have changed various areas of my life to accomodate the use of my gifts. I also find that some gifts I have only used once or maybe twice. These have been in very specific occassions in very unusual circumstances I have found myself in. It is like it was a gift given for me to use for just that time and place, as though the usual person that uses that gift was not available or had not responded.

I have seen miracles but none have come as a result of my laying on of hands. Maybe someday. :)

I speak in tongues as a prayer language and as a ministry to the body. I interpret tongues. I prophesy (but I'm not a prophet) I've also been used in teaching, healing, discernment, comforting and wisdom.

eh?
That's like saying "I eat meat, but i'm not a carnivore",
Surely it contradicts itself?

NO, it does not contradict itself.  Anyone can prophesy when the Spirit of Prophesy comes upon them.  However when one is a Prophet, the Spirit of Prophesy is always upon them.

And by prophesy, I don't mean telling the future, although that can be part of it.  I mean being the voice of God, for that person/s for that time.  And it is generally, a word of incouragement and exortation

I am not a prophet. . .at least I don't believe I am, but when it's necessary and I'm the only one there for God to use, then I respond in kind.  :)

Hello friend.
The word for prophesy means only to "speak forth". It really has nothing to do in itself with the source, the person doing it, or the contents. You can and have prophesied many times... so have I. Everyone has.

You can prophesy (speak forth) from your own spirit.
You can prophesy (speak forth) from the Holy Spirit.
You can prophesy (speak forth) from an evil spirit.
You can prophesy (speak forth) from your own soul.
You can prophesy (speak forth) from your own flesh.

All of these are prophesying. Not all of them are the gift of the Spirit under discussion in this thread. Most people who "prophesy" in churches are prophesying from the spirit of Christ in them to the edification of the congregation. This is legitimate, but this is not the Holy Spirit Gift of Prophesy any more than all tongues are the Holy Spirit gift of Diversities of Tongues or healing by faith in His name is the Holy Spirit Gift of Healing. I suspect some responding to this poll have these things confused and are claiming gifts of the Spirit that they actually do not have.

The Gifts are, well, gifts and they are God's to give. I have personally seen at least one bona fide miracle which came about due to a massive amount of prayer by many people in a certain state. A severly developmentally disabled boy with many birth defects was completely restored. It was astonishing. As for myself I covet prophecy, because it is speaking forth from, thru, by,the Holy Spirit of God and usually cuts to the heart of the matter, whether in witnessing , preaching, teaching or fellowshipping with fellow believers. It's the gift I aim for in all my dealings with people.

God Bless, Pete

Me too Pete,

speaking the Word that will affect that person the most at the right time, makes a huge (HUGE) difference in ministry. :)

Amen Quaffer, for to have that gift and to cultivate it requires that you have an ear tuned to the voice of Jesus, and not the voice of the situation or circumstance or person you are with. Out of this may grow the ministry of a Prophet which requires implicit obeadence to that voice.
" And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testamony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. Rev. 19: 10
So then Worship God 'cause thats where it's all headed.

God Bless, Pete
