God bless you Scotty. It is kind of you to remember his neighbor, who was his best buddy, and doing what your dad would want you to do. Praying that God guides you through all of this and that He protects you from the family conflict and turmoil of distant relatives at this most difficult time. Praying for God to strengthen and sustain you, and comfort you during the most difficult of moments. Father may it be so, in Jesus name, amen (((hug)))

Just from those pictures I would have to say it is to an oooooold lockbox.Thank you and I am doing ok with things so far, I will handle it because I have too and Dad wanted it this way. Dad was a very private person and didn't trust many people and stayed to himself mostely. The family that swoops in, is those who noone has heard from in twenty years and yet all the sudden they care so much, and they would also like to look in the garage and check on things for me.
I know Dads best friend is one that owns the farm next door to Dads and I will give him some stuff that will bless him because he brush hogged and sprayed and all that for Dad on the place.
They were Buds :] He came and seen me and he is just mortified as well.
I have a key that was in the safe that I can't figure out. It is very heavy and strange and says 71 on it. I will send a pic here and hopefully someone can tell me what it would be

Good morning guys I went to a local revival last night, I forced myself to go to be honest but I thought well it may help me to get my mind off things. This minister is from Missouri and I saw a sign at a church along the hwy that he would be preaching a revival there.
The visiting minister of course didn't know me and I just slipped in quietly he preached a message on what God has cleansed, let no one call unclean from Acts and it was a message that really touched my heart because of several reasons. One being that God knows the heart, Not us.
Afterward he ask if anyone needed prayer and I found myself going forward, as he held my hands he said Whoa, he said oh my you have a large broken heart. He told things to me that no one else could have EVER known but God. He spoke of my past and what God was doing was strengthening me for the large upcoming ministry, He said I know that you are Gods minister and you have a ministry right now, but God is taking you to something much larger and you have to be prepared for it.
I have cold chills and tears from this as I tell guys.
I have never experienced the feelings that I did last night and I am so glad that I forced myself to go.
I love you guys.

Scotty, that is amazing, so glad you went to the service. There are few preachers who are that in touch with God, but I know there are some. A gift of knowledge or prophecy, whatever it is, it's an amazing feeling, like they can see your heart like God does, and it can really strengthen your faith.
Did some research on your dad's key. Seems to be a six lever double bit barrel key, and goes to an antique padlock or trunk. The most likely manufacturer is Eagle Lock Company, in Terryville Connecticut, and were in business from 1833 and closed in 1975.

I have been pacing the floor a lot and thinking on what this minister told me and where I stand at the present. I wanna be excited but right now I am so sad that I just can't vision anything other than the images he has left me with.
Is it ok to love him so much it hurts and yet be so mad at him that I could scream?
I feel so alone that I cannot stand it, Then when someone does come here I just wanna be alone and not talk. I am a soup sandwich at best.
Yet I know God will see me through this eventually and

Yes! Anger is part of grieving, Brother. The Love will remain and the anger will subside.
I met a girl today who had a semi colon tattoo, but the dot was a heart.
I asked about it. It was in remembrance of her grandfather. She and her sister found him, after his suicide, when she was young.
A semi colon is for suicide awareness.
She loves Jesus, has faith in his fate and has nothing but Love and fond words about him.
I was impressed to share this with you.

I'm just now seeing this Southernscotty-- I cannot comprehend what you are going through-- there are no words, but I want you to know I am adding my prayers to the ones that have been offered here by brothers and sisters in Christ. The Word of the LORD through Isaiah keeps coming to mind:

Thank you so much Brother. I love him with all my heart but it all just seems so unfair to me. The why's are never ending in my mind and I am praying I am doing things as he would of wanted.
All the sudden I have so many things that I should have ask him before.
